The perception of "hickville" does bug me, though, just because it isn't true. It's true of a lot of Idaho, but Boise is a serious modern city. Pretty nice place, actually.
Right now, I live in Mountain Home and work in Boise. That needs rectification. Mountain Home has no mountains, no entertainment, little commerce, and no charms. It's only virtue is it's cheap to live here. Ok, two virtues, the 'Net service here is pretty spectacular compared to most small towns I've been in. Unfortunately they're all dead, but the people who picked the flattest spot in Idaho and named it Mountain Home ought to be killed. And resurrected, and killed again. And again.
