However, I am glad to announce I have a solution that has never been known to fail.

LOL! I did that 5 times with my old macbook. And it worked everytime.  Grin

Hi guys,

We are still on track, The millions of individual components needed to produce our miners are all arriving at the factory as schedualed and as of right now we do not know of anything that will cause a delay.

They are obviously having a problem with the chips. A couple of people are trying to get them working, the rest are walking around looking anxious. Everyone is waiting, including us.

They may fix the problem. Or after a few more days trying they may just have to admit the chips don't work, bin them and start again.

However, I am glad to announce I have a solution that has never been known to fail.

Yep the silence is weird. Orama has been on a few times and has also said noting. Im pretty sure if there was bad news though that he would let us know. I can only assume that they are holding back until they have a machine hashing which should be today at some stage imo

I dont mind any minor delays of a few days. Thats not the problem. I dont like the non-existent communication-policy.

We had a on-off communication the last months. Sometimes very detailed then again absent for several weeks. And now its just non-existent again.

Either dont communicate details at all and stay silent or communicate and tell your customers whats going on.

But this inbetween of broken promises (Video, China-Show etc) and silence is just not good imo.

Well, here we go... Either we'll have the day 1's shipped, or it's going to be a hell of a time for KnC...

I remember a statement from KnC that those machines can even run in an apartment in Dubai without air-condition, there are margins upon margins.
That might address overheating rather than temperature extremes.

I'd really like an assurance from KnC that there were no difficulties soldering the ASICs to the boards.  That large size ASIC is novel.

Well, they tell me each time they fire up the welding torch & start heating that bigass ASIC, it just burns right through the PC board & blows all of them tiny caps & resistors plum off the workbench.  They're really puzzled & told me they're trying a blowtorch next to see if that works any better.  Maybe we should tell them about the frying pan trick?  I think they should try that too, before they ragequit. Given the large size of the ASIC, heating a cool room with these miners will expose the ASICs to a range of temperatures and the large size expanding and contracting could be a problem.  Might see lots of failures from those conditions while temperature controlled rooms see the miners go unscathed.

Also, is it bad that I'm not too worried? I have faith in KnC, or hell, the manufacturer at this point. In all honesty, it's not KnC's fault if it's late. It all depends on how fast the things can be built. So, at this point don't blame KnC. Who knows, we may see 400 Gh/s... PER CHIP. If you think, they're not using the SO-DIMM FPGA things from ORSoC...
Of course it's KNC's fault they are late.  They chose the timeline, they designed the product, they chose the suppliers etc etc.

Sure maybe we can say it's understandable they are late depending on what the exact cause is but it is still very much their fault.

Just like it's my fault if the unit doesn't break even on ROI even though the hashrate spiked bigger and faster than many anticipated on top of KNC delivering late.

KNC's fault for delivering late, my fault for accepting the risk for pre-ordering with them and ordering months prior not knowing where difficulty was heading.
