I'm just being paranoid I know, but I keep imagining Orama and the KnC lads at a beach bar laughing and high fiving each other while having that drink..in Barbados..right on schedule.
This arena is fucking perfect for the trust scam if it's done right isn't it?
I've actually been imagining a downfall parody.

"Main fuhrer, the chips were last seen leaving the factory, here here and here... "
"Anyone here who is a shill for other asic companies, please leave the room now"
etc  Grin

Powerline might be an alternative to wifi bridge, in case the wifi signal is too weak - works nice for me Smiley

Thanks for that. I'm going to wait for that HAME multi function device I ordered to arrive first and see if I can use the ethernet port on it. I don't want to drop any more cash on "extras" that I may not even use  Cheesy

That said, does anyone know how to connect two ethernet cables to a device and prioritise one over the other? I assume if I plug my main ethernet cable + my backup ethernet cable into an unmanaged switch, there is no way to prioritise which one is actually used? I'd obviously like it to use my main connection and only fall over to the 3G dongle backup connection if the main one goes down.

I bought a ZTE MF627 from Ebay for less than £5 and unlocked it myself. It works with my ISP router (Technicolor TG582n), which doesn't switch the connection automatically, so will probably get the TP-Link one.
Yesterday I was unlocking a MF627 I bought on ebay! I actually got two plus delivery for less than the price you paid. Used, but they both work fine. They are just backups for a new MF100 I have. That may be overkill but it always good to have spares when they cost so little.

Did you unlock in Windows 7, because I decided not to risk it and did it in Windows XP as written in the guide.
I used XP. It's the longest flashing process  - took over 19 minutes.

This is beginning to sound more like BFL 2.0 every day.

Unrealistically optimistic timeframes. Plenty of early pictures of PCBs  / components / naked dies / offices. Followed by mostly silence once the chips came in.
Refundable preorders that are no longer refundable.

All thats needed now is a statement that the chip is using way more power than expected but this will hopefully be resolved by a new PCB design and that will happen in the next week or 2.

I hope Im wrong, and I concede its entirely possible and plausible I will be proven wrong, but its hard not to see the parallels so far.

The longer we wait without shipping details the more people will be saying this.

Ahh, the all familiar agony of Avalon and BFL rears its ugly head once again. I'm beginning to think the only difference between these guys and BFL is that KnC didn't make the tragic mistake of hiring a conflict-seeking troll for their PR leader. Just because someone is nice to you for a chance doesn't mean they won't try to screw you over.

At least BFL has taught people how to get their money back with cc/Paypal and that paying with BTC for a preorder is a bad idea.

But what's most important is that we learned that long periods of silence mean there's a lot of crap on the horizon, especially if it's a part of the standard "in two weeks" terminology. The whole KnC schedule was even worse than BFL's. They allowed absolutely no margin for errors, and planned on building and shiping a few thousand units in one or two days.

per talking to who ever it was I spoke to trying to get a refund so I can pay more to this fucking tax I owe, they said it would be 1-2 weeks that I would have it, and I could not reject it either beucause it was a business purchase and does not fall under the 14 day law/rule

I knew this was on the cards. We spoke about it yesterday. It's gonna messy around here. Who mentioned escrows to consult a Swedish lawyer on this?  Wink

If everything for Day1, Day2, Day3, and October is pushed back by two weeks, then November orders might not be released until the end of that month instead of in the middle of it.
I've always been concerned that delays to the initial batch of orders could go on so long it runs into the reduced price November miners. Eventually they ship within a few days of each other, only we paid $2000 more  Undecided

For those that got a refund back when you were able to, was it difficult?  Or did they just go ahead and process it without question?

Perhaps you can remind them of this:

Refunds are offered up to the day of shipment of your order.
