Disgraceful. The tying wire "solution" was the most Micky Mouse, pathetic, third world piece of engineering I've seen in a long time.

I actually thought it was advice they were giving people to get their broken units working, until they came up with a proper and professional fix for the problem. They needed to do a proper re-design, or more like, return to the design that has worked up to now - arctic i30 bolted in place. But no, KNC are too cheap. They think "Meh, we'll just tie it down with wire - should be good enough for 90 days and then it's not our problem".

I cannot believe they actually shipped you a replacement unit held together like this. No wonder your technician was horrified. $10,000 for some crap that looks like it was put together by a ham-fisted drunk.

Are they such assclowns at KNC they don't realise that PCB's are not made to take tension in this way? They didn't even put anything into the mounting holes to reinforce and protect the board. And the wire is bound to damage the heat pipes on the heatsink. The should have protected the heat pipes by putting something between the pipes and wire.

It seems clear they totally rushed the job by the fact the boards warped and the wires snapped in transit. Even the wire was cheap and sub-standard.

But this is just terrible to see freakingcat. Not only the time and effort and stress you've had, but now also $300 for the technician you hired, who could do very little with all this damaged garbage you were shipped by KNC - for a SECOND time.

freakingcat - keep at those knc assholes to send you replacement boards until you get 3TH of Grade A hardware that does exactly what it should. Accept no excuses, (which I'm sure knc are in the process of cooking up).

After an almost complete destroyed first shipment of 3TH "Super" Juniors, KnC was so friendly to send me a replacement for those miners...today was my day off and I had a technician with me to test them. Devastated and angry, really pissed that I wasted 12 hours and lots of money for my technician who could not believe that I had paid 10000 USD for such a pile of junk. This is my report:

i was running most of my KnC boards completely out of the cases, with all boards in a line, kind of like the KNC facilty.

I just got 6 screws and bolts for each board, 4 to be used at legs and then 2 to hold the heattsinks tight to the board.

Whats all the confusion about, it's easy.

you mean bag of broken parts, right? Most of them got busted up shit for 10 - 13 grand. How are they lucky to get that pile of dog shit? Those guys just really make me angry the way they treat people. I don't understand why people do business with them at all since they have no ethics and no concern for customers since they see them as "competition." I personally like doing business with companies that treat me like a customer and treat me with respect by giving me a quality product for a decent price. Coupons are helpful, too.

I'm a bit disappointed too. I made the decision to go with the instant gratification frustration FrankenJup. But there are no guarantees in this business. This kind of stuff happens all of the time and should be expected. I knew there was a chance that KNC could change their plans. It's really best to let this go, move on and learn from it.

And ultimately, if you have a somewhat working FJ like I do and you're getting extra boards shipped to you, you can rig up something to get some extra THs out of the deal. You'll just need some extra controller boards and heatsinks. And remember, we get to start mining sooner than the Neptunes. So really, its a wash, at least for me.

That's part of my point, people getting Jupiter's now are lucky
