It's official, I'm no longer a KNC customer in waiting. My final refund arrived today. Well, the good thing about it all is I basically just got paid $30,000 for the 31BTC I sold back then.

So, recommendations. Antminer S2 or Spoondoodilies?
Whatever will return more BTC than it costs ... oh wait ... nothing does Tongue

The S1 might still turn a profit if you include undervolting it at some point in your calculations when diff gets high, wont get rich from it though!

If BTC price keeps declining we will slam into a wall on difficulty in a not to distant future, I see a lot of fire-sales in the coming months unless the HW manufacturers are saved by another rally.

naw, I read it alright, and noticed it was full of puns, so I read it again... and in the first paragraph, "Bitcoin Board of Directors" is the one that hooked me...   I was thinking that was referring to the Bitcoin Foundation; obviously not.
It wouldn't matter then if the rest was smack then....
On to the day....

Did you know that the word "gullible" does not appear in the dictionary?

and i just made up the word gullibility
Webster's new international Dictionary has it...  Gullable; Man, at dawn, deprived of coffee. *footnote see Phoenix for example
Damned April fools anyway!

At least you own it!

Mining at home or Colo?  Well, actually, unless density is hugely important I'd go with the S2, but only after seeing some end-user reviews.

I like the Spoondidler, but it's loud, pricing is prohibitive, and there's a pretty sizeable delay between order and receive.  It's a really nice looking piece of HW though.

Me too...
Honestly, it looked like such a good idea in late Nov-early Dec. I wonder how many refunded. Sometimes I feel like a last one with batch#1 order (I refunded the second Neptune). At $13200+~$1500(electricity for 6mo of operation)=$14700, it is enough to purchase ~30 BTC today hassle free. The upside in mining is the miner itself. You might be able to mine 15, maybe 20 BTC in case of May delivery. The residual cost of miner (in $$ would depend on BTC price at sell point). You can return all $$ spent if you are lucky (BTC going up instead of down) plus keep BTC (minus taxes).

i bought another 0.5btc today. this is becoming a habit.  Undecided

I thought it was because i was drunk when i read the news, but BITCOIN OFFICIALLY banned china is true! Way to go bro

lol still drunk?

It's an obvious April's fools joke. xD
I've been had again, uugggh.  But they should do it anyway.
I really thought it was Christmas in April for Bitcoin.
That's what happens when you read the headlines before the first pot of coffee is brewed...  Wink
All due respect, this is not the first time you have commented on an article before actually reading it. Headlines can be misleading, be sure to read the actual article. The last time you did this was on an article that compared Mt Gox to failed gambling web sites. You accused the author of promoting their own gambling site (which they weren't, and as well as that the author didn't own a gambling web site).

If you had read the article, you would have seen gems like this:
Quote
...more than a dozen canaries (bred for their ‘bitcoin’ yellow hue) died in Chinese bitcoin mines last year.

This is obviously untrue since the official colour of Bitcoin is orange, not yellow. Everyone knows that the canaries that sit on Bitcoin Miner's shoulders are orange.
