Just ordered Neptune order #124xx

Are they going to oversell the 1200 like they did the cards?  That's over 1200 orders based on order numbers alone much less orders with multiple units. I guess it's the first 1200 to pay for their orders then they'll cancel the rest like they did with the cards.

What matters, is how much do you make with a 3TH miner..

knowing KNC it'll be more than 3TH..  probably 4TH if you have enough power to run it right

I think a lot of customers would of been fine buying more of those Nov designed jupiters for a late Feb delivery then not knowing how the Neptune will rollout

What ever it will be. It will be one of the best hardware available for public consumption.

I think the idea was that they are not going to inflate the network until their competitors do.  No reason to sell anything else for delivery now since nobody else is.  If that changes, I'm sure they will sell more too.

Why start selling the Neptune now?  That's what their competitors are doing.  Promising something for 3 or 4 months from now and taking in money people want to spend on mining gear.  Why not get a piece of the pie rather than let the competitors get stronger. Its really about crushing the competition.  Who is going to order Cointerra now?

Why would they pay production costs in btc?

500 orders @ 12BTC = 6000BTC @ $970 = $5.8million. They could sell the btc proceeds of 500 orders *tomorrow* and that would be enough $ to cover the NRC, right? By the time they sell 1200 orders, that is probably NRC + all production costs for the entire run. Every miner after that initial 1200 is pure profit. At a wild guess 5000+ orders this time? Not to mention how much the price of btc will rise while they hold tens if not hundreds of thousands of it.

NRC + all production costs = who knows?  ...I see what your saying, but you can't be too sure without such details...

Cheers
I moved my speculation tag to include that part, but you quoted me just before I did it Smiley I agree, that is speculation.

But the figures are not unreasonable given some of the figures mentioned in this thread regarding gen1.

Why are all of you talking about the KNC numbers?
Let them do what they want to do.
Everyone knows that these Firms who produce Miners (KNC, BFL, Bitmine..), are the winners here.
They let us normal people participate on the biz for a small %.

If you buy 1 Neptune, and run it in lets say in March with a difficulty of 18 billion (lets calculate high), you will earn about about 25 BTC (22k $/current price)
Ur still on the + side. Calculate lower and you'll earn more.

So why are you talking about their numbers?

What matters, is how much do you make with a 3TH miner..

cheers.

Hold!

But you can see why they are doing the massive pressure sales. They get 500 orders today @ 12BTC = 6000BTC.

Maybe tomorrow it'll be 10BTC, so 500x10 = 5000BTC.

That's 1000BTC less. Almost $1million. But more importantly, 1000BTC less. Which could be $10million soon.

I'm surprised they don't throw in a few free t-shirts and a night with bitcoinorama to get people to part with their btc today  Cheesy

You get +1 only if production costs are being paid with BTC by KNC.  If not, what you say doesn't make sense.

how many coins do you guys think it will generate overall for 1 Neptune and how long will it take to break even when it delivers
30Btc in March 15btc in April, but prices can be 1000$ or 100$ for 1BTC, now all Jupiter's owners give up their Btc back to knc unknown projects 10000$ x 1200 =12mil$ and the chips manufacturing cost only 4,3$ mil

To be honest, I am a bit disappointed that KNC turned a bit greedy here. Not only they don't need all these $12 millions for next generation chips, they already have huge profits from November orders, for which they already had the chips.

i tottaly agree with you man, they are greedy

Refund at dollars
That's is knc said at site under the miner
They'll take your 12BTC today and when you ask for a refund in April, they'll sell one BTC when it's $10,000/BTC to refund you and make $110,000 profit  Grin

Ordering today basically means you are selling them your bitcoin for $850-$900.

you're right.

so the best way to buy a neptune is via bank wire.

or wait a price correction and buy a few more btc and than hold Tongue

This 1200 unit batch is for previous customers.

There will be a new quota for subsequent batches.

Anybody know if refunds via bitpay are in the USD equivalent or in the original BTC amount paid ?

I have never bought anything from KNC, only placed orders but never got around to paying, but just paid for a neptune order. shows paid on KNC sight
