... and you can refund up to shipment

Which we know was a lie last time around.

Not exactly, you were able to refund to the point the list was sent to the facility to process your order for assembly.
Ha, lying fucker.

Let's remind ourselves of what ACTUALLY happened shall we? From newsletter 26th SEPTEMBER 2013 https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-37

Quote
The big news is that all the production orders that are due for delivery before October 15th have now been confirmed with the factory for final assembly and our production schedule is now locked. As such, we are not able to make any more changes.

THEY STOPPED REFUNDS BEFORE A SINGLE DEVICE SHIPPED.

Even people with "Paid" status (i.e. not sent to facility for assembly) were NOT able to get a refund, even if their device did not ship for another 4 weeks. So this is pure and utter lies once again from the paid knc shill.

It just shows the how low KNC will go, putting this lie of refund up to shipping in the terms of sale again. When their paid representative comes on here and tries to change reality, there can be no doubt these are crooks with no ethics or morals.

And after their big song and dance about accepting cc payment https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-35, they are now only accepting non-refundable/non-chargeback payments forms. That's got to get your spider senses tingling regarding how they will "refund" you  Tongue

Do some serious research before buying (or not) and don't take anything proven liar buttcoinorama sells tells you. He gets paid to lie to you and he has no qualms about doing that.

All orders were sent to the facility at the same time in one batch file, all overseen by a logistics contractor handling the bespoke software that integrates the production line with UPS. One guy sits in the office, one on site when needed. Do not pretend you know anything about what you are talking about.

Guys, think about it; why are they preselling these? For the first batch of asics it could be argued they simply needed the money. KnC doesnt need the money to pay for a 20nm development anymore, they almost made enough money to buy TSMC (okay, slight hyperbole). They could easily develop the 20nm chip and sell it from stock the moment its there.

The only reason they are again selling preorders is the same reason why BFL (who doesnt need the money either) sells Monarch preorders, is  that it locks in the price at whats most likely a much too high level. I pretty much predicted this:

I very much doubt this chip will materialize, as the economics most likely dont make sense (by the time it would arrive, price per TH would be so low it would be very hard to recover the NRE), unless they start another round of preorders fairly soon and enough people are dumb enough to fall for it yet again.

Many of you got lucky with the first batch of KnC's 28nm miners; they arrived pretty much on schedule, bitcoin price exploded and most importantly, the competition collectively fucked up keeping difficulty much lower than it would have been otherwise. You really think you will get this lucky again? With such a new and not yet mature 20nm process?  Or even luckier, because on batch 1 and certainly 2, probably not everyone is going to achieve a bitcoin denominated positive ROI, perhaps not even a dollar denominated one if the price collapses.

That's pretty ballsy. If no one delivers by the time you get your Neptunes you'll be a happy guy. But I have a feeling that storm is coming.

how many coins do you guys think it will generate overall for 1 Neptune and how long will it take to break even when it delivers

Let me guesstimate..

6 months, 12 difficulty jumps of 30% cumulative would be 116 PHash. >> 20 bitcents a day. 10 BTC in 50 - 60 days.

At 50% jumps, 650 PHash >> 3.46 bitcents a day. 10 BTC in 300 - 600 days..

So 1200 Units for Batch one = 3.6PH minimum.
Batch two will probably add the same amount.

I think I am going to sit this one out.

you are probably wiser then me....I ordered a Neptune (have a 2nd one in the que I stare at a lot)

damn it I want to "mine" next year...

(keep telling yourself its just a hobby not an addiction to miners..yeah that's the ticket denial)

er but then again I'm one of a couple guys that managed to pay by paypal before that faucet was shut off...before the knc announce email
was sent out...quite a shock 10min later reading the email and scratching head

so we also serve who squirm and wait.....so.....instead of being completely all in I have some options ..but
in that I have option over next month to decide on selling btc or using USD to pay amex via paypal .I have some
options....not sure I would of ordered staring at 12 bitcoins I think it was a the time (I have a total of 23 or so today)
from my 1 month and 8 days of mining.....

so "dumb and lucky" should be my motto....but then again what to do about the other one I have in the que
...sucker my brothers into this or punt?

pondering..this may just be an "addiction to danger" in that my otherwise regular life until I discovered BTC was "mindlessly dull"
just goes to show "be careful what you wish for"

$10k for 3THash, is still $2k more than CoinTerra. 30% efficiency will save you $2k in 27 months.

Really, a bargain?! Smiley

so how much hashing does Cointerra's powerpoint miners actually produce?

Power point miner.. Smiley

Here KNC has a little bit advantage.

I agree, 3Th for 10k in bitcoin is a joke. No idea when they will deliver those, Q1/Q2 can mean anything right now. could mean June for all i know, why would I throw so much money into that if the comeptition can deliver faster and cheaper?
Two batches, plus upgrade boards, before the competition has a chance to get a single machine out the door, Underpromise, Overdeliver.....and a PROVEN TRACK RECORD. You know of a safer/better deal?......No way!

Yea right now it's all bubble gum and candy but in 5/6 months there will be other manufacturers out there along side knc. The only reason knc released this news so early is because right at this moment there is no competition. In reality this news letter from knc should have come out in January 2014 not late this year. Knc is just trying to take advantage of the scenario and it is a tactical decision I think.

Did they inflate the price, hoping that the recent run-up would make people spend frivolously?  I was expecting about $6K, maybe $7K.

It's called greed my friend and knc is taking advantage of all who have the bitcoin "bug" right now raking in mega dollars. In the bitcoin world Q1/Q2 really means late late June even into July when summer starts to hit. There are just too many things that can happen in 6-7 months in this industry to lay down 10$k for a rig that is basically just an idea in someone's head right now. Kudos for those of you that have the money to burn, all knc is doing is using the "high" people have today because everyone is doing well that ordered a knc. I just can't loan some company in Sweden 10k and then wait half a year. Trust me, if anything is constant in this industry it is deadlines are never met and things take forever.

So if anyone wants to buy my knc account or buy your Neptune for you, for a small fee, let me know. KNC's greed is rubbing off on me.

is it just me or has anyone noticed that when KNCMINER opens up sales of their hardware the price of BITCOIN takes a nice jump? Seems to me it has happened every time, maybe that's why they prefer btc.
