Pakistan has played two matches in the world cup till now and lost both. The main reason for their loss was almost o runs scored by their openers Rizwan and Babar. If we see the previous series where Pakistan played well against England and also in the Asia cup was their openers who always gave them a platform for the middle order to build on. In this WC, both the openers failed to score runs and it exposed their whole batting line up.

Now coming back to their chances of reaching the Semi finals are really slim. Not only do they have to win all remaining matches at a high rate but also India needs to beat South Africa in the upcoming match. When you depend upon other teams results to qualify, this means there are other better teams who deserve to go ahead in the tournament.

The performance of the bowlers of both the teams was excellent. But the performance of Pakistani batsmen was really disappointing. They played very badly. I didn't think that an experienced team like Pakistan, batting for a target of just 130 runs, will be defeated. Zimbabwe's bowling line-up is not very strong either. Even then the Pakistani batsmen did not play well. However, this is not the first time we have seen such poor batting from Pakistan. We have seen in the past that Pakistan's batting line-up is not strong. So it is foolish to expect much from the Pakistan team in the World Cup.

Pakistan lost the first two matches. While the Pakistan batsmen were able to play somewhat well against India, the performance of the Pakistan batsmen against a weak team like Zimbabwe was very disappointing. A good result is not possible in a platform like the World Cup depending on the performance of only two particular batsmen. Cricket is a team game, so if you want to get good results on a platform like the World Cup, all the players in the team have to try to perform well in their position. Pakistani bowlers are doing very well now. Pakistani bowlers are able to perform well as the pitch helps the pace bowlers. We are seeing strange things in this World Cup. England team was in great form before the World Cup and they won the series with a great performance against Australia. It is really unfortunate for Pakistan. Despite Pakistan team stepping on the door of victory, Pakistan had to lose the match to Zimbabwe. Two matches in a row the defeat, Pakistan's place in the semi-finals was largely uncertain. Pakistan team scored 129 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. This is hilarious in my opinion as the important player of the Zimbabwe side named Sikander Raza was not at all productive today. I was accepting Pakistan to win this match but as always they are dependent on the opening pair.

What a match today, Zimbabwe nowhere looked like an associate nation. They played perfect process cricket in all the three aspects. That save of boundary on the first ball of the last over was sufficient to prove this. That 1 run might have made all the difference. Coming to Pakistan, it's not only over confidence it's lack of skill I would say. This doesn't looks like a team which can play in Australia, until when will Pakistan be dependent on Babar and Rizwan? If they don't perform the whole line up isn't capable enough to even take you to a par score. Forget about the pace line up they flaunt so much about. Sheer pace cannot help you take wickets, just because you have good pace and it's Australia you'll not automatically get wickets, you'll have to adjust yourself according to pitches. My stand pretty much remains same from the Asia Cup, this Pakistan team isn't a world class team at all. They showed that in Asia Cup and are showing the same here as well. Just winning 1 or 2 matches here and there can't prove your greatness. They should focus on building real match skills in their players, not just flaunting that how their players can hit 150 sixes everyday in nets.
