England's batsmen cannot bat well. Liam Livingstone was able to collect the maximum 37 runs for the team. Besides, no other batsman can bat as well. Sean Abbott has been able to bowl very well in this match. Sean Abbott managed to take three wickets. Hopefully the second match will be more competitive.
I would say the England captain was not well aware of the type of pitch. Then he would not have taken such a risk. Most of the matches at this ground are won by the team batting first. Out of 16 matches, 11 matches were won by the team batting first. So why did the England captain decide to win the toss and field?
Even then I would say England had a chance of winning. A target of 180 runs cannot be called a big target on this type of pitch. The pitch was batting friendly. If England's top order could have batted responsibly, they would have been able to win the match. Apart from Livingstone, I don't think any batsman's batting is decent. Moreover, we do not see aggressive batting from any batsman of England.
