Will it be possible for the Delhi Capitals to advance to the next stage? Most of the teams have played 12 matches each. Rajasthan and RCB both have 14 points each, while Delhi is having 12 points. Two matches remain for each of the teams. The advantage with DC right now is that they have a much better run rate compared to RCB. At this point, I would say that Delhi has only a 10% chance of qualifying. They need to win both their remaining matches and hope that RCB lose at least one of their remaining duels.
^ In my opinion, Delhi has the capability of qualifying for the next stage but for that to happen a lot of things need to go their way.
First of all, they have to win and get as many points as they can. Secondly, they have to hope that the teams that are in front of them lose. Otherwise, they don't have much chances.
The good thing is that they have a good run rate and that is surely going to help them if it comes to that.
But the way RCB is playing right now I don't think it is a valid option for them. The best thing for them is going to be winning all the matches from now on and the team that is above them loses. And yes right now it seems like T20 is the only valid format for ICC to increase the popularity of cricket because test cricket takes 5 days and ODI cricket takes 7 hours for only one match and that does not sync with the current world.
