I underestimated the Pakistan team even after winning the previous match. Because this team has no goal. And one thing I always say is that there is no continuity in the performance of their players. After scoring 232 runs in the first match, they have scored only 155 runs in this match. England, on the other hand, scored 201 in the first match and 200 in this match. Coincidentally, this suggests that England players have consistent performances.

For the second match, England included most of their T20 specialists (Jos Buttler, Chris Jordan.etc) and that gave them the advantage. Strength-wise, England is much above Pakistan in the T20 format, especially at home. Pakistan pacers are taking wickets at regular intervals, but they are leaking too many runs to be effective (both Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf conceded more than 12 runs per over). Among the pacers, only Shaheen Shah Afridi is showing consistency. Also, the decision to open the bowling with Imad Wasim was perplexing. It worked this time, but I am not sure whether they should do that on a regular basis.

There is no doubt that England has enough depth in talent. The county championship involves 18 quality sides (compared to 6 each for New Zealand, Australia and West Indies) and that translates to 200-250 players with regular first class experience. Its true that it wasn't first choice playing XI but their top order still very strong, although middle-lower batting order looks bit weak in absence of Stokes, Buttler, Sam. Bowling department looked shaky in the last game and lacked experience when bowling on flat pitches but it shouldn't worry Morgan much in a long run as they are sorting out combinations.

England could have easily won this series, if they had included at least a few of the experienced players. As usual, they took the T20 format very lightly and the playing XI hardly had any international experience. I think the ECB was more concerned about giving opportunities to a few younger players before the squad for world cup is announced, rather than trying to win the series. Agreed, the opening lineup gave a good start and the same is taken forward good by the rest of the players. If pakistan had scored around 200 runs, then England could've experienced little pressure and might've build up the score according to that. Finally the last T20 is going to be very interesting, because Pakistan will try to win the series whereas England will try to draw the series.

This team has a good chance of getting T20 series by their name if they maintain same persists. Everyone seems to know their role. It will be interesting to see if they continue to perform the same way in their batting, bowling, and fielding.

If Pakistan's top order batsmen can maintain the continuity of their first match performance, they will undoubtedly win the series. But the main problem is that none of their players are regulars. Moreover their bowling should be made stronger. I have seen this Pakistan team consistently perform well in very few matches. They have a lot of talented players but there are not enough players in the squad to perform well on a regular basis.

That's the Pakistan team for you. They might bundle out for 200 in an ODI and make 232 in a T20 game, being unpredictable and unreasonable are things associated with them. I don't mind such teams because a similar kind of team is West Indies and it's fun to watch such teams play, they might lose to a bottom team and may make the top teams look average.

I actually feel the Pakistan team is most consistent in Test matches because the game goes for longer periods and they have a very stable team for test cricket. For shorter formats, they just need more reliable players than flashy ones.

Well... T20 format favors unpredictable teams such as Pakistan and West Indies. That said, the credit for yesterday's win should go solely to the batsmen. Without such an imposing total, Pakistani bowlers could have struggled to contain the England batsmen. The required run rate was almost 12 runs per over, and for the inexperienced England batsmen, it was a tough task. The big question here is whether Pakistan can perform well against the regular England players. What will happen in case the regular bowlers such as Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid are available? The England XI for yesterday's match was more like a second string side.
