I knew cricket was a gentleman's game. But these behaviors cannot be of any gentleman. Such behavior from BCCI is never desirable. We know that relations between India and Pakistan are not good. That is why I did not think that BCCI would take such a decision. Each player is independent. Those who are qualified should be given the freedom to play in all the leagues as they wish.

Being an Indian, I can't agree with your POV. This is a deliberate provocation from the PCB. Why they are not organizing any tournament in their provinces that are not in dispute? I am talking about Sindh, West Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Why all of a sudden they are organizing a franchise league in the sparsely populated Kashmir region, where not even 2% of the Pakistani population resides? Ideally they should target the more populous provinces such as Punjab and Sindh, right? I am in favor of distancing sports from politics. But here the provocation came from Pakistani side.

LOL.. the BCCI and the PCB seems to be in a war of words over the proposed Kashmir Premier League. The BCCI has made it clear that any player (current ones, or retired) taking part in this league would be banned from all the events organized by the board. Herschell Gibbs has already criticized the move from the BCCI, saying that it is pure bullying. The tournament is supposed to start from this week (6th August), and will involve 6 teams from the Pakistan controlled part of Kashmir - Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Mirpur and Kotli.

Pakistan vs west indies third T20 match already no results due to the heavy rain fall. I am quite sure that in the match west indies could play well because they have a deep experienced from Australia and west indies match.
Only eight ball played , Andrew Fletcher played 6 ball with 2 sixes and two single runs and other one single with two Balls. Heavy rain stopped the match.

I never imagined that the performance of Pakistan players is so bad. Pakistan collected 134 runs in 18 overs losing only 2 wickets. At the end of 20 overs, they lost 8 wickets and collected only 157 runs. They could not collect 24 runs in the last 24 balls. Even if it was a team like Bangladesh or Afghanistan, they would collect less than 30 runs in the last 4 overs.
Only 23 collected Lossing 6 wickets , only Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan collected more (51+46) runs but others 6 cricketers collected the rest runs . If Rizwan and Azam could played worse, then I am sure Pakistan could lost the match.

Yeah, I agree with you. If Rizwan and Babar had not played well, Pakistan would have lost. The Pakistan team is now completely dependent on these two batsmen. Other batsmen do score occasionally. However, Pakistan's bowlers bowled very well in yesterday's match. If the bowlers did not bowl well, Pakistan would never win. Because the batting lineup of West Indies is very strong.
Specially Pakistan team bowled well and only two or three batsman , Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan always played well in ODI and t20 even test. If we consider Pakistan team without above two batsman, then Pakistan team can lose Any occasionally match between Afghanistan.

Looks like Pakistan may get a rare series win over the West Indies. The 4th and final T20I match is scheduled for tomorrow, but the weather outlook is bleak. Pakistan is leading the series 1-0 (first and third matches got washed out), and in case tomorrow's match is also abandoned, then they will win the series. They should be thankful to Mohammad Hafeez, whose bowling helped them to win the second match. And who knows? This may be the boost Pakistan needed, just before the T20 World Cup.

You're expecting too much from the BCCI, they don't even take players mental health seriously (Ex Ganguly comments on mental health issue.)
I missed the entire 100 ball event completely, i was thinking which match and series you were talking about and i could not find any until you said about the fun elements of the new format  Grin. So how is the match format and is it similar to T20 rules, i need to find the highlights because i am curious to know what they achieve by cutting 20 balls.

What is with Ganguly and mental health issues, i did not understand that part either.
No its completely different from the T-20 or T-10 format.

Well when some reporter asked Ganguly about player's mental health on continues bio bubble for long time, he said that  he played with lot of English, Aussie, Windies and they just give up on mental health and Indians are tolerant on bio-bubble restrictions.

Well couple of million eyeballs are considered success there so no surprise. This format added new fun element to the game, hard to understand at start but seems good time to hangout with friends and watch the game for 2 hour or so, atleast you don't need to wait 4 or 8 hours for the results. You're expecting too much from the BCCI, they don't even take players mental health seriously (Ex Ganguly comments on mental health issue.)

I watched a few matches, and for me it looks too short. I would draw a line at 20-over cricket. Reducing the duration further means that the majority of the players will be there to just add up the numbers. IMO, if they want to reduce the duration to 15-16 overs, then the number of players need to be reduced. What about 8-players per side? If they play with 11 players, then some 4-5 players will be dong most of the batting/bowling and the others will be there just as the spectators without much involvement in the game. In basketball, they recently introduced the 3x3 format (3 players per side) and it proved to be a huge success.
Basketball court and Cricket ground are different set up. Some cricket grounds are way too big so 6 fielders might not able to cover all the ground (not counting Bowler and WK for the obvious reasons ) and it will become more favorable to batsmen.

I was excited about this new initiative but then it got delayed due to covid and i lost the interest completely. It seems there is no buzz for the 100 in cricketing world except England, big reason is almost every foreign star players pulled out from the tournament. Another reason is Last month was busy in terms of bilateral series, majority of cricketing nations and their fans were busy in their respective bilateral series, it also played a big part.

Ind vs Eng test series is about to start so i doubt if too many Indian fans would be interested to watch the 100 anymore.

It is generating a lot of hype within England, but with a limited number of overseas players, the viewership in other countries will be low. Even some of the star players of England (Ben Stokes, James Anderson, Stuart Broad.etc) are not taking part in the hundred. But one thing that I liked is that they gave equal importance for both the men's and women's tournaments. The same franchise have both the men's and women's teams and the format is same for both the tournaments. This is something we can never expect from the BCCI.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan did not play well but Pakistan won, I have rarely seen such a match lately. These two are now key players in Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan bowlers are no longer regulars. The bowlers bowled well in yesterday's match, but we did not get good performance from them in all the matches
No debate about their importance in the team but the rest of the players should chip in and play well for the team to win all the time. They might be developing a team that could play in the upcoming World Cup as they are focusing on spin.

Rain is the winner again, no result of the match. Till now, two matches ended without any result and Pakistan won the remaining one. It won't be good if rain wins the fourth T20 as well. I think West Indies will win the last T20 if the game don't get interrupted by rain. Though Pakistani bowler showing good bowling skill in this series, but Windies batsman may take the lead in the last game with their powerful hits.
I was expecting West Indies to bounce back and win the match but rain played spoilers and the match is called off. I do not remember Pakistan winning two matches on row and hence i was betting on West Indies to win after their disastrous performance in the last match.

The toss is delayed due to rain, hopefully we will see they play the entire match even if there is a delay.

That was  disappointing to see the match not being played today due to rain. I think they should keep a reserve day if for any reason the match is not played/finished in a single day. There are gaps in the T20 matches in the schedule and those days could be utilized. Let hope the rain does not effect the remaining matches.

No one is watching the Hundred? The ECB launched this tournament with so much fanfare and hype, but I am not seeing much interest from India. They need to generate hype in India as well, because without the revenues from this market the tournament will struggle to sustain itself. Now with the T20I series with Sri Lanka finally over, I hope that more Indian viewers will tune in to watch the Hundred. So far the matches have been of very high quality. But they lack the star power, as West Indian players are busy playing the series against Pakistan and Australian players refusing to take part due to COVID concerns.

Pakistan will bloom once in a while and it is hard to place a bet whenever they are playing and Babar Azam is their stand out player but you cannot expect him to play well in all the matches. In the last match it was the bowlers that changed the match especially Mohammad Hafeez.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 15 runs in 1.2 overs. The game is now delayed again due to rain.
