This tweet sums up India's situation tonight, kinda funny too  Grin. India is going with only 5 specialist batsmen and 3 of them are debutantes (Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Rana). Indian batting order finishes at Nitish Rana, after that tailenders with only Bhuvi knows thing or two about batting.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar at no.6. Can you believe it? Indian team is going in to this match with 5 batsmen and 6 bowlers. They are fortunate that Sanju Samson is not in isolation. Else who would have kept the wickets? Shikhar Dhawan? If I am not wrong, the playing XI for today's match is going to be the most inexperienced one India ever put up for an international match. And the fun fact is that even with such a squad, India is still the favorite to win. And that tells a lot about the condition of Sri Lankan cricket right now.

Looks as if there will be more frustration for the fans. The Pakistan vs West Indies match is delayed by rain, and uncertainty surrounds the India vs Sri Lanka match. The official statement from Indian management is that these players will be making their debut today - Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Nitish Rana. Although it was reported that the net bowlers were added to the Indian squad, none of them got a chance to play today. This is a golden opportunity for the Sri Lankan team to get a win against India. It is not even a second string side. It is like a fourth string side..  Grin

Two T20 matches between India vs Sri Lanka and Pakistan vs West Indies will be played today. The match between Pakistan and West Indies seems unpredictable to me. The West Indies have always performed well in the T20 format, but Pakistan also has a lot of hard-hitter batsmen. Pakistan did well in the T20 match against Australia.

In another match, I think India will still win against Sri Lanka today. India had lost the previous ODI match. They will not make any mistake in today's match and will win the match.

After winning the toss Pakistan has decided to bowl first. In my opinion it is good decision. What made Pakistani team think they will be able to chase successfully. I guess they are confident that their bowlers will be able to restrict West Indies batsmen and their batsmen will be able to chase an easy target.

Today they will be playing the second T20 match, the series has not been cancelled but, a last-minute decision can be taken. Krunal is out of the series and 8 players are in isolation as a precaution. Shaw, Surya Kumar, Ishan and Hardik will not be playing today and tomorrows match. Who will be replacing these players I have no idea.

Apart from Krunal, these are the players who have been ruled out for the remainder of the series:

Prithvi Shaw
Suryakumar Yadav
Hardik Pandya
Ishan Kishan
Devdutt Padikkal
Krishnappa Gowtham

The first two were supposed to join the Indian team in UK, so I am not sure whether they will be placed under isolation or not. News18 has reported that these two (Shaw and Yadav) will now face a delay in their departure to England, but there was no confirmation from the BCCI.

@pakhitheboss the net bowlers of team India have been added in the squad, and due to this I expect a win for Srilanka. Also if these player’s consistently get negative reports then I see no reason why they should not depart for UK, however final decision will be of UK whether they allow them to enter or keep them out of their country.

Yeah and read new report that 5 new players ( Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore, Simarjeet Singh) have been added into Indian squad and some of them might get their maiden T-20 cap, they all were net bowlers. Now if some former SriLankan's skipper saying thing about "India B or C team" Then he wouldn't attract any criticism.  Grin

Indian cricket team already affected by coronavirus pandemic and more Than 8 players affected corona. Krunal pandeya, Hardik pandeya, two brothers affected corona.theh both maybe in isolated and completely they don't take participate in second T20 match.

Nope. Your information is wrong. After Krunal tested positive, 8 of his close contacts were isolated and tested for COVID. And today all of them have returned negative results. But the problem for India is that these individuals need to remain in isolation for at least 3-4 days, until it is confirmed that they are not infected with the virus, and therefore won't be able to take part in the remaining T20I matches.

It is a big mystery how Krunal got infected with the disease. The Indian team was allotted an entire hotel for themselves and even the hotel staff are part of the bubble. No outside contact is allowed. After Krunal returned positive test, all the staff members were tested and none of them returned a positive result. At this point the Sri Lankan management is also clueless on how he got infected.
Its seems clear that there was no strict bio bubble set up for the players, otherwise there is no other explanation. If 8 players going in isolation for 3-4 days with Krunal, does that means this series is cancel? Not sure if Indian squad has back up atm.

I am surprised that the match is going ahead today. Krunal + at least half a dozen of the players are not available. India, even if they manage to garner 11 players to make up the numbers, will struggle to find the right balance. But then calling off the match will be not right, as it will result in the SLCB incurring huge losses. That is why it is important for the players to strictly adhere to the bio-bubble rules. A single mistake can result in a loss of tens of millions of USD for the organizers (similar to what happened with the IPL).

Pandya brothers love mingling to find a suitable host. Haardik pandya has already confessed on national television. Kunal was doing the same and got infected. I cannot prove it, just speculating.

Whatever may be the reason but BCCI needs to investigate and punish those responsible. It seems some players are least bothered about the bio bubble and the virus. BTW, I asume all players were vaccinated before this series was decided. I assume because all of them represent indian and belong to the elite class.

Krunal got infected and no one else in the bio-bubble has tested positive for COVID. So it is clear what happened there. Since they got vaccinated (probably ahead of their rightful turn), these guys got overconfident. But they forgot the fact that even the best vaccines are only around 95% effective. And in case of Covishield, the efficacy is only around 70%. Being vaccinated doesn't mean that they can just roam around without any protection. I am curious about the actions that BCCI is about to take.

The match has been postponed by a day, because one of Indian player (Krunal Pandya) has tested positive for COVID-19. Few other Indian players will go through isolation who was in close contacts with him. Krunal Pandya had played the first T20 match. So most of the players was in touched with him. In my opinion, they should postponed this series now. There will be significant change in Indian squad if the match take place tomorrow.
Krunal Pandya tests COVID-positive; second T20I postponed by a day

Once again the question arises. How can someone get infected inside the bio-bubble? Lack of discipline seems to be a serious issue with the Asian teams. Recently we saw the example of Rishabh Pant, who went for the wimbledon match without wearing a mask. These guys think that they are super-human. But unfortunately the Corona virus doesn't know that they are so powerful. Those who breached the quarantine and bubble rules should be dealt with by the BCCI and they should take stern action to prevent the repetition of such incidents in the future.

Oh my goodness, in a serious pandemic situations, Rishabh pant a good popular human who don't wear mask and Don't maintain social distancing between them . They all setting besides without maintaining social distance (3 feet) . Please Rishabh pant sir don't break rules because coronavirus can't obey super humans.

Players and the people of Managmonet who have broken the rules of Bio Bubble and have not complied with the rules of hygiene still need to be punished severely. Boards spend a lot of extra money to ensure players' bio bubbles. Even then, if the players do not follow the rules, it is really frustrating.
It is another unfortunate situation and it is clear that they have breached the bio bubble, we are yet to see any punishment handed out by the BCCI but the Sri Lankan board already punished a few players and so is the reason some of the players are not in the team.

If players from Australia, New Zealand and England can obey the bio-bubble rules, then I don't understand why the Asian teams have an issue with that. The IPL had to be stopped mid-way, because there was a bio-bubble breach involving Varun Chakravarthy. Before that, the PSL had to be stopped, when some of the players and franchise owners breached the bubble and infected those inside. And in December 2020, the Pakistan team was threatened with expulsion, after they breached the bubble in New Zealand. Is it that hard to follow the rules?
It is hard to follow the rules and you have no idea what people are doing in India, majority are roaming outside without mask and the people i know started partying and the reason they say is they are tired of these restrictions and i am worried that a more serious wave will hit here.

These idiots are the reason why the virus is spreading like crazy and causing destruction around the world. Apparently, it's more important for them to look good in photos in a crowded area when compared to following all safety protocols effectively.

I am pretty sure that the BCCI will just ignore all of these mistakes since they are star players and they cannot afford to screw them over.
