In the 1st T20I match between Sri Lanka vs India, team India won by 43 runs against Sri Lanka. In that match, Sri Lanka won the toss and they usually opted to Bowl. Gill got golden ticket since GG even mentioned him as all three formats player which implies he is most likely to be the preferred candidate even though others got better stats than him.

I think the Indian team top order is so good but we have seen their new players who came in the middle order are weak. See Yashasvi Jaiswal made 40 in 21 while with him Shuman Gill made 34 off 16 balls.

Now, slowly slowly the chances of Sri Lankan team to win this match are going down because from the last some time, we have seen no boundary from their batsmen and at this point, the Indian bowlers have done very good defending job.
Also when Axar Patel picked two wickets then the full game was gone from the Sri Lankan hands and now I think no chance of Sri Lanka but overall, in this match, the Sri Lankan team performed well but at the end we have seen some problems, I think they could win the next match if they focus on their mistakes and change them.
