South Africa and England are playing and South Africa is struggling as expected as they already lost 5 wickets for 112 runs and it is going to be another easy victory for England.

South Africa able to score only 146 runs in 20 overs. No batsman could play big innings today. Only Q de kock made 30 off 18 balls. And I think he is the only successful batsman of the South African team in today's match. Archer and Rashid Khan bowled great today. Archer gave only 18 runs in 4 overs and took 1 wicket. Rashid khan took 2 wickets by giving only 23 runs. Hopefully, England will easily win today if no miracle happens.

But with social media getting stronger and people getting more educated, such incidents are being probed and actions being taken.
It is unfortunate to hear these incidents but good to see that these issues are brought to light and there were much bigger scandals in the past especially in Olympics and anyone who does these should be sent to prison for a long time so that we will not see any exploitation in the future.

You said it right, sexual harrasment is another reason why women sports are not finding many real talent and even if a girl is trying to expose those abusers where no action will be taken because of authority is in their hands so they decide what they want and surely they will end the future of the girl in that sports field.

Even in cricket, I have heard about such incidents. However, I need to say that during the last one or two decades, a lot has changed (for the better). Earlier anyone raising such allegations used to get hounded in to silence and the perpetrator would remain at the same post. But with social media getting stronger and people getting more educated, such incidents are being probed and actions being taken.

This article is very informative on the subject: https://www.tribuneindia.com/2010/20100801/spectrum/main1.htm

Quote
Like women’s hockey, sexual exploitation of players is rampant in women’s cricket, too. A few months ago, two women cricketers of Andhra Pradesh had charged secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association V. Chamundeshwar Nath for harassing them, demanding sexual favours. Though the incident kicked up a ruckus in the Andhra and Hyderabad cricket circles, the official seemed to have bought his peace, as the girls have fallen silent on their complaint.

Once upon a time, women’s cricket, too, was controlled by male officials, who made no secret of their taste for the "good things in life". Once, during a national camp for women cricketers in Delhi, a player confessed to a friendly official that she always carried condoms in her kit bag, as she never knew when she had to oblige an official of the cricket body to get into the playing eleven—or even the team—of the Indian squad.

Currently Indian hockey team is in 4th place of world ranking so they are not really a bad team in this sport and Indian other sports like Kabadi and football giving their best but not finding the sponsorship which is important to bring the sport to the next level in the international level.

Not sure about the rankings, but the current Indian hockey team looks like a shadow of their former self. In the recent times, they never won any global events. And also, you can't compare a small sport like hockey to major sports such as cricket, football and basketball. So the sponsorship and fanbase is going to be smaller when compared to cricket.

Another issue is the corruption and incompetence of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF). And there have even been sexual abuse allegations. A decade ago, national team member T S Ranjitha Devi accused the Indian coach M K Kaushik of sexual harassment. She claimed that those who refused to have physical relationship with Kaushik were excluded from the squad. A sham enquiry followed, but nothing happened to Kaushik.

Now coming to Kabaddi, it is a minor sport played in a handful of nations. And even in this sport, India is no longer the lone powerhouse. There have been attempts to get these sports to the franchise system in India, starting with Hockey India League (HIL) and Pro Kabaddi League. While the latter is doing relatively well, the HIL is now defunct due to a number of reasons (all of which are perfectly understandable).

There are a number of reasons that are responsible for the downfall of Hockey in India and one of the main reasons is the corruption in IHF. The day these boards have fewer politicians and more players in them. If this can be changed then only we can expect these sports to improve their image. At the moment the only game Indians are proud of is cricket and that is why they are more inclined towards it.

In cricket we haven't heard much about these allegations. I guess we need to thank BCCI for making sure that such incidents don't occur. And regarding other sports bodies, most of them are run by cronies of various politicians, who enjoy unlimited immunity for their actions. Women athletes in most cases are inexperienced and in difficult financial condition. In the end, the choice needs to be made between giving in to the demands and getting kicked out of the team.

The only instance when BCCI is dragged in to something like this is the incident two years back, when Rahul Johri (then CEO) was accused of sexual assault.

India's national game is hockey but you will hardly find anyone discussing hockey. The problem with other games in India is the lack of exposure and sponsorship. A few years back they did start a few leagues but the exposure is very little and not many games are being played in the respective fields. On the other hand, cricket is being played constantly and therefore everyone is excited. Much depends on the respective boards or federation to organize bilateral matches or domestic matches. You cannot expect once a year league to increase the fan base.

A lot depends on the performance of the national team. India do have a good football team, but right now they are ranked 104 as per FIFA. With most of the other sports, it is the same situation. You will never find the Indian team in football world cup or the basketball world cup. India used to be one of the strongest teams in hockey, but those days are long gone. Last time they won the hockey world cup was in 1975.
Soccer is worldwide best way to earn good money but sadly here in Sub-Continent we have too much hype with cricket and fact is too much money also involve and other sports have nothing like this because these things need some good infrastructer and baseline so these things need some good money which is not available for any other game then cricket even we can produce some good number of individual players in one player format but not one doing any work for this also so just cricket fever is around us youngsters don't want to play any other sports other then this which is really poor for us.

Different games are popular in different countries. Also you can see the positive side of this that there are only 8 - 10 cricket playing nations and we should be proud that our country is included in it. Although it would have been better if you could had a good soccer team but nevertheless, we should focus on games on which we have the talent like cricket.

India or Pakistan can never be included in football world cup for next 50 years or more. The main reason for this is that there is no infrastructure of football here. Also football requires a lot of physical strength which is lacked in the sub-continent area.

In first match you was guilty but in second match BE Hendricks is guilty party as in 17th over he give 28 runs and match to England Jonny Bairstow is also on good touch as he give matching inning 86 of 48 balls match was very interesting but suddenly 17th over change all momentum in England favour.
Jonny Bairstow was sidelined in the IPL and i was confused with the way they are selecting the team members and to place a player of Jonny Bairstow's caliber in the sidelines was a big thing and i am glad to see him coming back into the national team and take the team home with his brilliant knock. I missed the first match but i will be looking forward for the rest of the series.

Fan base for cricket in India is really huge and when elites know how to use their cricket enthusiasm for their profits then these kind of things will happen.Other cricket boards are also making money but not up to the level of BCCI and BCCI is making more profits than ICC I guess.

To be honest cricket is expected to be much shorter in the future and I am scared that it could end up the sport's future! Undecided

India, being a country of 1.4 billion would be a prime market not just for cricket, but also for all the other sports. Many of the sports boards in India have successful franchise leagues established by them. Some of them are well established, such as the Tamil Nadu Premier League and the Karnataka Premier League, while others are still in their infancy. But these state leagues don't feature any foreign players and the salaries are low. On the other hand, Sri Lanka is having a population of around 20 million (less than one-third of that of Tamil Nadu), and they have launched a glitzy T20 league with international players. I would be glad, if the league is successful. But I am skeptical, given the limited size of the market in Sri Lanka.

It seems majority of here were excited about only Ind vs Aus clash? No one even gave much thought on (T-20) WI vs NZ. In which NZ won the game nicely because of their lower middle order. I missed the game so i am guilty as well.

It was one man show from Lockie Ferguson. West Indies was about to set a big score, but then Lockie started his spell and got the important batsmen out. Ferguson ended with 5/21. Other bowlers went for plenty. Hamish Bennett conceded 50 runs in 15 balls, while James Neesham went for 32 runs off his 9 balls (1.3 overs). But then undisciplined bowling in the second innings cost West Indies the match.

Apart from cricket not much sports got same amount of fan base as cricket in India, Soccer the sport which got more fan base than cricket even is struggling to find the fan base and sponsors there. That is why most leagues are only based on cricket but India has talent from all sports but they are not rich enough to support the activities and give up even before reaching their goals.

Seeing the revenue earned by BCCI through IPL most boards started their own leagues and to date they have not been able to equal the revenue amount of IPL.

And this is where things go wrong for the other boards. Everyone want to copy the IPL and establish their own franchise T20 leagues. They never do proper research on the viability of such leagues. Even smaller boards like the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have jumped in with their LPL. In most cases, these leagues end up as loss making ventures, because the boards overestimate the potential revenues.
