I don't even want to recall those last few matches of PSL which were played without the crowd. They were so much boring regardless of the fact the match score or match situation (do or die) was there but still it seems we were watching a domestic match with no crowd interest.
Well to me it felt like I am watching cricket in the local ground where two clubs is playing a practice match, the media are busy taking pictures and so on LOL

Closed door World cup is not acceptable by many people including Allan Border. He says that it is much better to cancel the world cup rather than be played in empty stadiums. Border against closed-doors T20 World Cup. He is right in a way because WC is not only for the players, it is also for those who want to come to the stadium, cheer their teams and enjoy.
I too would not like to see a close door tournament especially when it is an event like WC which comes after two years interval. It's better to reschedule even if necessary then reschedule in 2021. There will be no fun to see 22 players and two umpire in the ground and the whole stadium is empty. We have seen it in PSL and it was not entertaining.

These number shows that Australia is in better shape compared to other countries. Now if we talk about hosting cricket then it does not matter. For an event like world cup players will go from around the world even if it is close door (hypothetical). In the current situation and the way it's moving towards worse, I do not think any country will take such risk. Any sorts of out door sporting events still out of mind.

Australia has done a great job at keeping the corona virus under control so far however winter is coming soon which could cause the virus to spike but as the country is in lock down it should help steam the cases in winter. Why I say this is because it could be a good sign that the T20 world cup will go ahead as planned if Australia can keep the virus under control.

Dude, are you from Australia? I heard something crazy about that country and perhaps you can verify it. Somewhere I read that a 6-month lockdown was implemented in Australia? Any truth with this? And I checked the stats about the latest COVID 19 situation. Australia is not faring that well. Despite whatever lockdown they have, till date they have 6,500 cases, increasing at a rate of 40-50 per day.

Australia is much better when we compare it with the rest of the world. Only 6000+ cases for Australia means they they have implemented good lockdown and awareness among the people.  Still i think T20 world cup will not be  possible for them to host this year.

Most chances we are going to have this world cup in February 2021 because this year its not easy even situation is very good in Australia but not in England India and Pakistan so they need some good time for this all today's list showing numbers are increasing very quickly in subcontinent even lock down is very tight but still many peoples not following this all.

Some have mentioned a Twenty20 World Cup without spectators and in other sporting events as well. A match without spectators does not make sense, this bad weather of the Coronavirus will end. We just have to be patient and wait, scientists are working against the clock to develop a vaccine Coronavirus. We must be careful experts do not rule out a second wave.

Majorly now people have started to believe that it is not going to happen this season and another thing that comes to my mind is that for many people due to impact in business or job etc people would cut their all extra expenses for coming year . So crowd may not be ready to pay extra amount this time in watch IPL in stadiums just in case if it happens and also there could be chance of getting infected with virus unless 100% is removed from the country which means due to precaution some people anyways would not like to take that risk where there is a mass gathering.

@JSRAW a T20 World Cup without fans is like eating a pizza without cheese on it, and it’ll be a horrible idea as players won’t be pumped up to play those big shots, or do their usual antics as there’s no one to cheer them up. Also I hate to say this but I feel that Allan Border is right, as he’s asking the T20 World Cup to be called off if there’re no fans allowed in the stadium to watch it.

Its true but ICC or any authorities don't have much choice in this case, not to mention they can't take any risk with the spectators life if situation don't gets under control.  @vella85 already mentioned that Aussie Gov doing okay job so let's wait if its Empty stadium or Cancellation.

CA or ICC are open with the idea of "Empty stadiums" ? CA already talking with other boards for cooperation? it can't happen if other boards are not on same page.

I think, at this point, it's safe to say that IPL will not be played this year.

Let's hope that we get to see at least the T20i World Cup, without the crowd of course.

Yeah, no need of IPL this year and mini IPL / 20 days IPL is not good too.

I was watching Sunil Gavaskar and Ramiz Raja talk in youtube. Mr. S.G was saying that there are very thin chances and now BCCI has only 20 days window for IPL as new deadline for lock down is 3rd May. In normal times IPL final takes place in 23th-ish May every year.

In India, today there was an announcement from the MHA (Ministry of home affairs). A number of relaxations were being declared regarding the lockdown. The ministry has permitted the opening of IT and ITES firms from April 20 onward, with up to 50% staff attendance. This is an encouraging sign from the government and it is clear that they are looking forward to lift the lockdown. I am still not very sure about the IPL, but BCCI is going to try really hard to start it as soon as possible.

So finally, we hear from BCCI that the IPL of 2020 is suspended till further notice due the Conon Virus. Though there is still a hope kept alive that it can happen how and when could be a question they need to look at it. But I would say that cancelled for the year and mostly we would be seeing the IPL now in new year considering the schedule for the cricket tournaments of different countries.

I agree with him. The pandemic is a global one and not dependent on only one country's position so even talking about when it will be held now doesn't make sense. The players also need to practice as due to lockdown, their workout also must be affected. International flights in India may take a long time to start so talking about June-July is out of question.

Let's get everything done without crowds. Roll Eyes
This could be really good as we will go all without crowds because life is more important then this all.
