NZ were unlucky in the last two matches and i wish they won this last match because this one will be the Rose Taylor 100th T20. Rose Taylor would want to win this won for his team and nation to give them some sort of relief although India have already won the series.
I do not consider New Zealand as unlucky but they were not able to handle the nerves and cross the winning runs, they were close to win on both occasions and they well set batsman were not able to score the winnings runs and India was putting more pressure on them and hence it is clearly their victory and it was not about luck, the team who was able to handle pressure won on both occasions.

BTW, I heard that Kane Williamson may skip the 5th match, due to shoulder injury. That would mean that there will be more pressure on the other players, such as Tim Seifert.

Updates are coming that he might be back in the squad. kiwis should look out for positives as they have good record in this venue. So far Kiwis lost only 1 game out of 5 T-20 games here in Bay, Oval. And they are winning all the toss in this series Tongue so it would be interesting to watch if NZ wins toss again because as of now they already tried everything (Chase-Defend).

Selector has given him a chance because India already won the t20 series so wanted to test the alternatives for openers but it seems he missed it and may never get an opportunity in future since IPL is on the way which is the place India finding new talents for shorter format of cricket.

He may get another chance today, as India is already up by 4-0 and the outcome of the final match is insignificant. But if he fails this time also, then I don't think that the selectors will retain him in the squad. The IPL 2020 will be starting next month, and Samson may be asked to prove his worth in the tournament before getting a slot in the national squad.

I think he has to be given some more chance because he has never been given a complete chance where he was made to played all matches in a series. Just calling for couple of matches and replacing obviously does not boost anybody and one cannot judge them. Though it is too much competitive now so getting such chance itself is a big thing and he would be awaiting for his chance tomorrow to be in that playing team.
There are players who are in the form of their life in between someone young getting chance means he has to give his 100% or more than that to get some attention about his ability. If he was born in 90s then he might be given more chances but now even once is not given for many talented players because only 11 players can play this game where 1.4 billion people living. I really wished for NZ to win this match. They had every chance to win this match. Their feilding was excellent, batting was good especially Williamson. They needed only 2 runs from 4 balls. Even posted a good 18 run target in super-over. But all their hopes were shattered by Shami and Rohit  Undecided I feel miserable for them.
The problem of New Zealand to fail close games continues, they left the world cup so close and then other tournaments which they should have won in the past and today's game which i thought New Zealand bowled really well to restrict India but then all the hope ended in the last 4 balls and then the usual disappointing super over as New Zealand always fail to win most of the time Undecided.

Well..well.. I would consider New Zealand as the real winners of the world cup. England won as a result of the wrong decisions by the umpire (Kumar Dharmasena). So you can't really say that they lost the close match then. But losing a super over, that too after scoring 17 runs is a bit difficult to digest. They were without their best bowlers. But all they had to do was to restrict India to less than 10 runs from 2 balls.

TNose are one of occasion that does not mean it will happen again lol. Technology has improved a lot things were different those days . Cricket is more clear now days.

India may bring back Rohit Sharma back as the opener back and replace with Samson if they would like to go for the whitewash. If Rohit come back this give India a platform of good opening partnership and also if Rohit stays on the pitch he would take India 200 par with his batting ability. It depends if India would like to continue with same side or make some changes back again to clinch 5-0 series for them.
There is no point in bringing back players right now as India already won the series and leading the tournament and they should focus on giving opportunities for new players rather than sticking around, i am telling this because i would like to see New Zealand win one game and save face, they came really close to victory for two games but they were not able to cross the line and tied the match and the fate of super over is still haunting them.

There have been a lot of hue and cry regarding Samson. I agree that the selectors were not fair to him earlier. He was dropped after just one opportunity. But during the 4th match, he went out as the opener and lost his wicket to a careless shot. I would say that he wasted a golden opportunity. His last chance may come during the 5th T20 match. If he fails to perform, then he only has himself to blame.

It is too early to come into any conclusion, he still has the potential and I think he will get few more opportunities. If he is able to perform in other matches there is a chance for him.

I think NZ will choose batting first next time if they happen to win the toss in the last T-20 match of the series.
They are winning the toss but they are unable to win the matches and that too matches that were easier for them to cross and then end up in a tie and then they miss out containing the Indian players, is there anything they can do to change that, i do not think so and if they had Williamson today then they might have won the match and unfortunately he is injured, now the question is whether New Zealand is able to avoid the white wash.

After a long time, I watched a T20 match for the entire duration yesterday. It was an exciting match, and India once again kept their cool to defeat New Zealand. One thing that I noticed immediately was that the New Zealand bowling attack was looking extremely weak. This was perhaps the weakest NZ bowling lineup that I watched for the last two decades. This is the same side that had tearaway pace bowlers such as Shane Bond. Now they are struggling to keep teams like India to a total of less than 200.

New Zealand desperately need their pro bowlers(Boult, Ferguson, Henry etc) since the current ones are pretty bad(Except Sodhi). I especially enjoy watch Boult and Ferguson and would like to see them make a comeback asap.

Boult - Broken hand ( Recovering for 3 match Test Series)
Ferguson - Calf Strain
Henry - Thumb injury ( he's okay or kinda new bowler in the limited over cricket anyway and struggle to secure his place in playing XI everytime)

They are not coming for even ODI series.

Did Grandhomme played on today's match?

Nope, Dropped due to bad form. So far he made 0, 3, 5 in the first 3 matches.

The other middle order batsmen (such as Colin de Grandhomme and Tim Seifert) are also not in good form.
I agree with Colin de Grandhomme, but I disagree about Seifert. Tim scored plenty of runs in this series so far and even scored a half century(I think) in the recent match which is why he has been one of the more consistent players.
Did Grandhomme played on today's match?

NZ team got big names like Martin Guptil and Ross Taylor but they are not in the form of their life and ageing also might be a factor causing their lack of form. Its hard to watch kane williamson since he is giving his best while batting as well as while leading their team but none of the other players were responsible as he was.

Really horrible finishing from New Zealand and considering the players I have I think it was an easy task for them.
Indian cricket team is well known for their rare strategy in slog overs and they did same on today's match against Kiwis. Team india is pretty much balanced in batting, bowling and even on fielding department too. In T20 matches every single run is important and enough for making big differences. It was really unexpected to observe an poor performance from kiwis last 3 batsman and it happens due to Indian team continuous pressure buildup. Specially in super over New Zealand have sour records in their past and still that remain same. I don't know why they choose Tim Southee as their super over weapon where he has not a sweet records on super over. Hope they will recover in the future and for that they will have to play fearless cricket like India.

I think NZ will choose batting first next time if they happen to win the toss in the last T-20 match of the series.
Overall team performance is the most important part for a T20 match and from toss decision to last man standing New Zealand makes mistakes today and they should develop these sections otherwise same situation gonna continue with them specially when opponent is India.

I am afraid that batting first will be a very bad idea for New Zealand. The Indian batting lineup is among the world's best, and they can chase any sort of target. They comfortably chased 200 plus totals against West Indies recently. On top of that, the New Zealand bowling lineup is looking very weak, due to all those injuries. Their batsmen are not in form (perhaps with the exception of Williamson). And if they make a total of 140-150, then the Indians will chase it down in less than 12 overs.
The main issue in this series for New Zealand is that the middle order is failing to produce runs, the openers always gave them a solid quick start but they fail to capitalize on that start and score a huge total and on one time they were able to score above 200 runs they were short of runs considering the way in which they started the innings and in that match India chased that total and if they want to pose any challenge they need to post a score above 200 runs and since they are experimenting with the bench strength they might win the match and save face to avoid the white wash.

Earlier Ross Taylor used to be their backbone in the middle order. Unfortunately, for the past several months he seems to be out of form. I thought that he regained his form, when he scored a half century in the first T20 match against India. But after that performance, his form once again dipped. The other middle order batsmen (such as Colin de Grandhomme and Tim Seifert) are also not in good form.

That's true, if one hasn't watched the match it is truly hard to believe that India once again ended in a tie with New Zealand and won the match on Super over. New Zealand is missing every winning chance, based on this match result this series is gonna be a whitewash for the New Zealand cricket team on their home ground.

I seriously thought it is the previous match as back to back coincidences are rare but then the score was different.

That last over again turned out to be a game changer. 4 wickets from a new bowler Thakur and then in the super over Virat as a replacement for Rohit and both the overs being bowled by the same bowlers. NZ is really unlucky when it comes to such close matches but I am happy for my team. Without Rohit and the other players losing their wickets for digit number too they proved they can win matches.
