I do not think that they are moving to different countries thinking of playing cricket, most of these players migrated to other countries a decade earlier because their parents took those decisions for a better living and cricket being the passion they are playing for their migrated country, majority of the teams have players from India and Pakistan and it is not surprising as cricket is in their blood.
You are partially right. Some do move there during their childhood and pursue their passion while there are many who travel as adults from India to other countries as I said earlier.

When is the India vs West Indies T20 series is on? I do not know why, but I think West Indies will win this series LOL
Starts on August 3rd I believe which is a couple of weeks away. Why in the world would you expect West Indies to win? Even if some major players are resting, the Indian lineup will most probably decimate West Indies.

Singapore won their match against Qatar by 33 runs, Qatar just weren't able to put partnerships together while Singapore top order played well to set a decent sized target which I thought was always going to be hard for Qatar to chase down. Malaysia also won their match which was to be expected against Kuwait.
Singapore has made its win against Qatar on the world cup T20 qualifier. It is good to see both the teams having Indian players. The player of the match Surendran Chandramohan seems to be an Indian from his name. Same is with other players like Manpreet Singh of Singapore, Janak Prakash, Chetan Suryawanshi of Qatar.
Just wondering, are you guys watching these matches or just getting the scores? I personally would not bother to watch those low valued (I hope I do not offend anyone) matches :-)

some countries are exception such as China, Myanmar, Japan, Korea, Iran as far as i know.
And for this reason, they are having very bad time consistently, look at their scores against Maldive, Nepal, Myanmar, Singapore. They always had a low score like 30, 36, etc. Lol. It will take a huge time for China to be established in cricket.

Didn't know this team as well playing cricket, probably missed somehow. Singapore player a long innings.
Janak Prakash, an all rounder, is the man of the match. Can anyone confirm where he is from? Don't say India please. Most of this types of team are formed of Indian player.

Not much written about this 18yo all-rounder. He represented u19 team for Singapore as well but can't even find his first-class stats. So he yet to make some name for himself.

About nationality - Singapore has a considerable amount of population from India, more precisely South India -Tamil- so don't get shocked Tongue

In fact if you pick any associate members in World cricket you are going to find couple of familiar names from Indian Subcontinent, some countries are exception such as China, Myanmar, Japan, Korea, Iran as far as i know.

Nothing surprising here. The Indian players who don't get lucky in India just go to other countries to get noticed and acquire good money. You can find them in many teams around the world these days.

How do you expect anyone to know where he is from? He is a foreign player playing in Singapore which is itself not a well known team in the Cricketing world. He might be a south Indian though based on his name.

They are the same like others, most of the player from USA cricket team was from India as well and some from Pakistan. I remember USA playing with 6/7 Indian players.

Just for Lolz

I remember this Kenya, see the highest run scorer from Indian side, Its Harbhajan singh  Grin not including Zimbabwe team, they knocked down some heavy weight in world cricket as well.

Kenya was a very promising team once. They had master batsmen like Morris Odumbe, Steve Tikolo, two brothers Andy Flower, Grand Flower, Heath Streak, Henry Olonga, Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell. These players were world class at that time. It was not easy to beat them always even though they used to be underdog every time.

Kenya just could not produce good cricketers like them anymore.
Slowly the team got disappeared. These teams doesn't have good support from the governments. Also there isn't any special support provided in all way. Once kenya stood above the Bangladesh among the top list. Now they have got thrown out of the top list. Kenya once again rebuilding their teams is really very hard.

^^^^ Their biggest upset victory was against West Indies in 1996, during the world cup. And back then, West Indies was one of the powerhouses. Steve Tikolo and Maurice Odumbe formed the backbone of the Kenyan team then. Thomas Odoyo played in that match as a 17-year old. After the retirement of Tikolo and Odumbe, the responsibility fell on his shoulders. Had he hailed from some test nation, then Thomas Odoyo would have become a cricketing legend.

I hardly remember things from 1996 except some discrete memory of watching Sri Lanka was playing cool cricket. Ranatunga and his gang Sanath Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva, young vaas, Marvan Atapattu, Young Muttiah Muralitharan etc.

I just watched the highlight from the link and it was a low scoring match. WI were only able to manage 93 runs LOL

Messi studied in a primary school in Bangladesh. Lionel Messi went to Las Heras for elementary school. Messi was playing soccer at a very young age. Lionel did not attend college because his potential was identified by FC Barcelona

Lol, Harbajan was not that bad batsman. He has 2 centuries in test.
Like as Royse said, Kenya wasn't able to produce good players. In 2000, Kenya started to spend all of their budgets for cricket into the national team, they didn't spend in grassroots which was the main cause they weren't able to get good players later.

Kenya was a much better team in back in the days than the current team. They played semi in 2003, I remember we used to have enjoyed at that point when Bangladesh won a match against Kenya. It was not that easy for Bangladesh to win a match against them those days.

Completely forgot that teams like Kenya and Zimbabwe even existed which is why I am honestly not shocked to see them go. Its all about entertainment value at the end of the day and these 2 teams failed to deliver.

It's very heart breaking to see Kenya, Zimbabwe teams are disappearing. Kenya is almost gone if I am not wrong, the team Zimbabwe may be following their path too. Team like Netherlands (never knew they play cricket until recently) has beaten Zimbabwe in the recent times. I lost money on them LOL (jokes nothing important). Truth is that when politics involves in a team then they collapse. It happened with these two countries.

Netherlands and Ireland seem like much better replacements in this regard and I feel that they can provide much better entertainment value in the long term.
