Yeah, nevermind that comment, no matter what squad DC would have mushers up, they were to lose just from the 250+ runs target they are going to get, though I would hope for 300+ but seems unlikely as Kuldeep took 2 wickets real quick just now.

Today Sunrisers Hyderabad team is moving towards another record. The team has already broken the highest score record twice. I won't be surprised if Hyderabad collect 300+ today. And with the way Hyderabad's batsmen are batting, it won't be difficult for the team to deliver a 300+ target.

Delhi won the toss and decided to field. I would say it was a big mistake for them. At the end of 9 overs, Hyderabad collected 154 runs. Travis Head has just been dismissed for 89 off 32 balls. Heinrich Klaasen scored an unbeaten 15 off 7 balls. And Abhishek Sharma managed to collect 46 runs off 12 balls. If Klaasen bats as well as in the previous matches, Hyderabad will easily collect 280 runs today.

The game for deciding third position and the ticket to ACC emerging cup T20 of the ACC premier Cup was played today between Nepal and Hong Kong China.
Nepal winning the toss elected to bat which turned out to be a bad idea immediately. They lost their first wicket without scoring a single run and the wicket kept falling. Dipendra Singh Airee played a vital role at the end of the game with his 44 run inning to have a decent total of 139.
Hong Kong China chasing a medium target were mostly on the comfortable zone, the 3rd wicket partnership between Anshy Rath and Babar Hayat made it easier for them. Anshy Rath individually made 65 getting the man of the match title.

I feel like Delhi don't know how to choose a squad, Sumit Kumar and Lalit Yadav shouldn't be near playing XI. Instead of giving foreigner spot to Nortje, and making Ishant seat, they could give his spot to Ishant and let Shai Hope play, he's a good batter.

Edit: They have let Prithvi Shaw sit as well, and I would call it stupid decision too.

We cannot call a target of 177 runs on this pitch a big target. At least around 200 should have been collected. Because we see batting friendly pitch in almost every match of IPL. Scoring 200+ runs on these pitches is not a difficult task.
However, due to the poor performance of Chennai's top order batsmen, they could not provide a big target. Apart from Dhoni, no other batsman in the squad can bat at a good strike rate. Apart from the batsmen's bad batting, Chennai's bowlers can't do well either. If the bowlers could have bowled with some control, the match would have been competitive. Here is another argument.

Dhoni is 42 yo wicketkeeper batsman. Let's say he comes as early as 4-5 down, so most of the time after 12 or 14 overs and in case of some collapse then maybe in between 8-12 overs. That's a period where spinners operate and the field is spread, you have to rotate the strike and even try for doubles (don't forget he's old and WK). Also, he used to be good against spinner but not anymore, as far as hitting 6s is concerned.

In the previous matches we have seen Mustafiz and Mathesha Pathirana bowling well. But in the last two matches we have seen poor bowling from Mustafiz. Pathirana managed some controlled bowling but it was not enough. If the performance of the bowlers does not improve, the Chennai team will not be among the top four in the table.

Chennai's top order did not play well against Lucknow. Chennai lost wickets very quickly. Even then, the team was able to set a target of 177 runs. As far as both openers of CSK are concerned, Rachin Ravindra got out for duck while Ajinkya Rahane did well by scoring 36 runs. 176 is not a target which you can easily defend on flat tracks of IPL. You need to set a target of 200 to give your bowlers chance to win the game for you in IPL. Openers done the job for LSG, they both have 134 runs partnership. CSK bowling was terrible last night, they picked only 2 wickets. CSK lost yesterday game but they are still at number 3rd position.
