If it was any other player then the Indian media and the fans would go against him. MSD has a place in the hearts of fans and there is no denying the fact that he was the best captain and a finisher and so is the reason fans are travelling whenever he plays.

And if it was a knockout match or the results were the opposite then toxic ones could have made every player's life hell.

Dhoni is one of the best Indian captains in Indian history for sure but only in white ball cricket. He was ridiculously bad on the tests.

I have watched the match actually and I will say that the rain interruption took away the momentum from GT. That was the turning point of the match for me. Of course, the match had a lot of twists and turns. Of course, what happened in the last over was certainly great to see for any fans in my opinion. But if I say that the match would have had the same result as this if there was no rain, I would be lying.

But anyway it was certainly a very good match and the tournament had a very good finishing I would say.

It depends on how you see it. I saw that GT bowlers and fielders struggling after the rain. I did see them trying to get to stop the run flow in the early overs. I would say CSK was lucky as the four by Jadeja was a luck shot. Mohit Sharma was amazing in controlling the run chase in the last over. I would agree that none of us expected Jadeja to hit a short and not get caught. If you look into his batting hardly he was able to get the ball over a fielder. In most matches that he batted he was getting caught while trying to hit a six. This is waht means being lucky and cunning for me.

Agreed, if it was some other player surely he could've received some penalty. In all means he had followed the rules, so the umpires haven't made any comments on it. The time he wastes will end the innings delay two overs at the end. This allows just 4 players outside. He had opted the risk and brought win to the team. If there is no such system of 4 players outside, then the umpires might've given warnings or they might've not allowed to waste the time.

IMO It's the same loophole as a short run scenario when batters want a strike and deliberately run short.
