All cricket experts believe that women's cricket will be advanced a lot in the next few years. Women's cricket has been neglected till last few years but since the launch of Womens Premier League many countries and cricket boards around the world have started giving it importance. Because they have realized very well that ICC can give good reward to women's cricket as well. Like Womens Premier League  very soon we will see several such leagues where better cricketers can be born.
Women's cricket in three countries already at its best with now India and other subcontinent countries need to work on this because now this is also important region and with this relative boards can do better things even few countries are still not able to provide better facilities because of domestic issues, but we can expect good changes in near future with WPL is surely going to be good for the Indian women's because BCCI is having selfish mindset, and they will never been helpful for other boards of this region.

But right now, situation in Pakistan and Sri Lanka is not good just Bangladesh can do if they are also interested in this games development and countries in Gulf region have no chance to be done anything better because they are not able to bring any native men so bringing native women's completely out of their rang.

There is no surprise in the overdependence on foreign players. It was also inflated by the fact that some capped Indian players were out of form.

But at the same time, we can confidently say that this inaugural season will only help Indian women's cricket as far as the talent pool is concerned. Yes, it'll take some time to mature but things are going in the right direction.

Even among the capped Indian players, only a few have participated in franchise T20 leagues such as the W100 and WBBL. And those who have that experience have played well in this season. Anyway, the inaugural season of the WPL is more like a learning experience, for both the capped and uncapped Indian players. One thing that I would like to see next time is the participation of more associate players. But it is not going to happen, given the aversion for associate players from the WPL/IPL franchises. Tara Norris was the only associate player this time, despite having a maximum quota of 5 (1 per team).

I still won't come into any conclusion whether the first season of WPL is a success or not. After its completion data on viewership would be out and it will give us an actual understanding on what went right and what went wrong.

At the moment I can see the crowd and the excitement in the stadium. It looks good. I also know the talent pool for women cricket in India is very less but what makes it more depressing is those who are playing in WPL are not at all suitable to play league cricket. A lot of work has to be done and I think it will take couple of years or more to do it.

Except a few Indian players most teams in the WPL are dependent on the performance of overseas players. India's talent pool in women cricket is saturated. I am sure the BCCI would work on this issue to make things more competitive. At the moment it is MI who are looking as the front runner to pick the trophy of WPL.

It takes time for the betterment of the Indian Women cricketers. Most of the foreign players have already played similar leagues which is an added advantage. Right now more players are known to the outer world and Women cricket too have gained little popularity in a country where the men's cricket dominates every other sports.

I feel like this is first drop in Women's cricket in this region and surely things are going to be change in coming years even before this event Indian women's are having rank in top four teams which was good, but now things could be change in next few years, and we will have them in top four with Australian and English could be still at the top because their body language and environment is also having big advantage for them and here we need good time for these all changes.

But, this is still a revolutionary change for women's cricket and money and other advertising are going to bring better things with facilities will be also increase which is much needed because we still have many areas which are living in 19th century about women's and changing mind is never been easy.

Did ratings come out recently? Last I checked overall reach was around 50-ish Million for the first week, this report came out last week or so and after that, I didn't notice any new report but surely WPL attracting serious eyeballs so it looks fine so far, although we have to wait a couple of weeks for the final numbers.

Oh yeah, big fat checks for Women's players. In comparison, The 100 Draft came out just now and the highest paycheck for Men and Women are £125K and £31K respectively.

Don't know much about the viewership, but heard that Viacom18 is selling advertisement rates at a level that is around 1/20th of that of the men's tournament. For the IPL, a 10-second advertisement costs as much as ₹2,200,000, while for the WPL the rate is around ₹125,000. It is good return, given the fact that Viacom18 purchased the media rights for 1/50th of the amount of the same in IPL. But one factor should be remembered here. WPL is broadcasted for free and therefore there will be no subscription fees.

The tournament is a success as more people are watching the Women's Cricket and more opportunities for the players to earn a good purse which is much bigger than their International remunerations and the young generations will be taking note of that on a global scale and will be focusing on earning these WIPL contacts and in the future we will see more talents.

This is first season for many players and having no experience to play in these conditions but they still have done good job, but one thing is sure after watching few matches now I have believed many women will be developed, and we will have good enough pool for the women's in coming years but here now I need few things which will help them for having better experience and improved quality; BCCI needs to work on to send these women's to England and Australia as well because if these will play there and have good experience then surely things could be amazing for them.
Here they don't need to be having restrictions like IPL because men's cricket already have enough practice and technique but these women's have not enough facilities and experience like them, but these leagues surely improve, and we will be able to have good changes in coming years.

Are you talking about the restriction on the number of players on the team? I think this restriction is good to have. Because otherwise, the Indian women players are not going to come forward with their contribution and the overseas players are going to dominate. So this restriction is important and will be good in the long term. Of course, some changes will be made along the way in the journey of women's IPL. It is also going to take a little more patience from the BCCI to actually get a good amount of profit from the women's IPL.

It is true that overseas players (especially those from Australia, England and South Africa) are dominating first season of the WPL. And it is not surprising. The BCCI ignored women's cricket for so long. They should have started the league at least a decade back, but then the Sharad Pawar-N Srinivasan mafia was in power and they refused to invest in women's cricket. But ECB and CA launched franchise T20 leagues for women without any delay, and as a result they are in such a good position now in terms of women's game.

We don't know what gonna happen in the upcoming matches. In tomorrow's play off any sort of changes could happen, because in the last few matches Mumbai Indians performance is not that good. UP Warriorz seems like improving and for this reason I find the finals to take place between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz.

Mumbai won their last match, so we can't say that the momentum is not with them (although they had consecutive losses before that, to Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz Women). On the other hand, their opponents have also lost 3 out of their last 5 matches. On paper Mumbai looks extremely strong. As with the men's version of the competition, Mumbai always get the best players. And this time they have Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia, Hayley Matthews, Issy Wong and emerging players like Saika Ishaque. On the other hand, UP Warriorz Women are very dependent on their overseas players - Alyssa Healy, Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone.

You are right. It is very difficult to make predictions about T20 matches. Because every team here has a good enough squad. But due to the irregular performance of the players, the teams are not able to play well. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians women's teams are very strong but they have also dropped points in a few matches. This is why it is not possible to say with certainty which team will be the champion. Delhi and Mumbai have equal chances to win the title. And the performance of this team is stable and strong compared to other teams.

UPW is not going to be able to get ahead of MI in my opinion, as far as I am concerned. In order for this to be a final, MI and DC should face off. To me, UPW does not appear to be consistent enough in its approach. It has been a regular occurrence for them to lose matches here and there. However, I am not saying that there is no possibility for them to reach the finals of the tournament. They are just not good enough to be able to get ahead of the Mumbai Indians.
Difficult to say which of these teams deserve the trophy more - Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Both of them have performed exceptionally well so far in this season, winning 75% of their respective group matches. One advantage with Mumbai is that they are less dependent on overseas players, at least with respect to Delhi. For Mumbai, players like Harmanpreet Kaur, Saika Ishaque and Yastika Bhatia have performed up to the mark. On the other hand, Delhi is overdependent on their overseas stars including Meg Lanning, Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp.
I agree with you. Both Delhi Capitals Women's Team and Mumbai Indians Women's Team are playing very well in the Women's IPL. And both have the potential to be champions. But I would say Delhi is performing better than Mumbai at the moment. Delhi Capital Women won the last match against Mumbai by 9 wickets. And in every match, we see that Delhi Capitals women's team is dominating. In the form this team is in right now, it will be very difficult for any team to beat them. Their batting line-up is very strong. Every batsman in the team is in good form now.
Prediction in T20 cricket is a very difficult task. Because the team cannot perform according to that prediction. And the number of such matches are not less. The team who is the most expected to win but finally they loss. This is very common in t20 cricket. When I first saw Mumbai Indians Women's performance in the match, I thought there is no other team in this tournament above it. But Delhi Capitals Women's good performance has forced me to retract that comment. One thing that is very common in cricket is uncertainty.
