What is the best pool for mining tek. It appears as if Tompool is going to be down for a long time.

He received an email saying his google accounts were compromised and to please click on this link to fix everything. Next thing he knows he has a trojan that stole everything. It was 12k TEK and 340k HYP. The 10k or so sell that ThunderToe mentioned, is probably it.

So the moral of the story is that if you have reason to believe your accounts are compromised, don't click a link. Type the domain into your browser manually and change the passwords manually. Even if you think the email is from google or somewhere official, do everything manually.

It is impossible to infect computer with trojan or keylogger by merely click a link. There was always something else besides a mere click - download and run something, allow Java
stuff to run and so on.

AS I understand it if your wallet is encrypted even if they steal your coins they will never be able to spend them. So it is definitely a good idea to encrypt the wallet.

looks like it may have been the result of a phishing attack https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678849.1460

It is unclear to me what happened there. Someone hacked his gmail account then reseted exchange password (no 2FA?) or he was tricked into downloading some infected stuff?

Yeah, I'd like to know. Last time I heard of a hack on another coin, they were on about this and that, but what ended up being revealed is they were using TeamViewer or something that allows other people to use a machine remotely.

Beware everyone! A large HYP and TEK holder, Dexpla, had his coin stolen. Which means there are scripts for robbing HYP and TEK around.
Dexpla was on Windows 7. I don't know if it could have been avoided with Linux or Mac (since it was a link in a mail) but remember this: encrypt your wallet. Having multiple addresses won't change a thing, Dexpla had multiples addresses too.

i see a 10k+ dump of tek on cryptsy seems likely it may have been his, any word or more info at this time?

Seems like a good time to bump this again:

Bump, mainly because IRC Freenode has just been reported hacked: http://altcoinpress.com/2014/09/irc-freenode-network-hacked/

I've still seen no answer as to why the latest compiled Windows version of the TEK wallet needs IRC when previous versions apparently did not. What changed? Is it necessary?

Thanks.

where is owner http://tek.blockx.info ? rich list is one month old, pls update  Tongue

I say we get on cryptocoinexplorer.com. HYP, CAP, and HBN are already there Wink

30$ a month they charge if i read it right  Shocked

That's just a wee staking Tongue

I don't care as much about a rich list, but it is good to have a block explorer that doesn't time out. Maybe it will work better now that the fork is done.
