I don't think we do need to care.  The very nature of that particular coin made it vulnerable. We are not in the same situation.  XDE and TEK are as different as apples and oranges.

Did you have the wallet encrypted? Also did you have a backup of the wallet on another drive?

If you have it encrypted they still will not be able to get the coin.

I sent a contribution to the Avt ... thread but it was deleted. Therefore, at least here.

First: Best is warn people in those threads.

Then install a solid AV and malware detector , anti exploid (it also encrypts keyboard inputs): Hitman Pro Altert 3.1.0

And keep your microsoft defender AV always up2date.

(Also, best is to use VPN,TOR also. CyberGhost is a good service)

Just taking out coins will not help! My idea is to make it clear - Why BUY Tek?
If you are just a user - than you don't need to do anything.. just stake and will be able to get 15/20/30/35% or if lucky 40% when diff is low
and we dont need to fork the coin insideout.. let it be as it was for so long time!
If you like the coin and are interested in the coin more, then you can BUY more to get special address which will stake at 40%+, but first you must contribute by burning the real amount.. so you did good for the coin and help all to keep supply lower, then get little benefit as a reward.. this can help people answer the Q - why buy tek?
also millions of coins are going to be taken out effectively - cutting supply - this is real base factor that works with all assets 100%
A small holder then will see the path for constant predictable income
..so here I hope we can solve 2 main issues:
1 - PosDiff crazy spikes are avoided by active coin supporters + create demand!
2 - coin supply control
2.5 - will make some people think of getting back to mining, which is impotant, because it gives you a chance to enter the coin very simple/easy way!!!
So! Good, easy way for all.. as we dont have to make dev's life a hell

Good point, but consider all pro and cons of a swap.
Don't know what the price is of 5 mill dots but I would not mind to donate some of my coins for the good cause.

Keep in mind :
It's a matter of time and TEK will be pretty much dead as any other high POS coin.
Basic law of economics, high interest will create high inflation, in our case some 400 %...
It's a valid solution often done by country's, so why not with TEK ?
Consider what would happen with TEK when supply gets reduced by 100 or 1000.
Will certainly give a boost to the price of TEK and create new interest of ppl.

FYI :
Tek Dev needs to verify the following with cryptopia before doing any chain swap.
I believe coin swaps are required to relist their coin at the full rate of 5 million DOT.

There is no need for such a complicated method as you propose.
I am not good with math, but what is effective interest according your scheme ?
Burning X00K TEK 1st to make 40+ %, sounds like effective % a lot less then current scheme.

A simple coin swap with 1000/1 ratio will do the trick easy and is fair since your idea would only benefit big players.
Also it would make life a lot easier for the devs then a complicated scheme with the risk of being exploited.
Then we can also add a new and fresh blockchain.
