,well i guess you need to study the charts? Or if you bought it at a higher price, you have no choice but to hold it until the price becomes high again or take loss. But taking loss is much more to be called you surrender or you're taking failure.

You're probably investing in a lot of new coins which don't have much historical data for their value/price.
I'd say, stay away from ICO's and new coins in general and focus on some coins that are already somewhat established.

if you want to earn and if you don't want to lose your capital, you should put to limit stop loss and take profit  yourself.
This is my own strategies in trading, I hope it can help.
1. Pick 5 altcoins with trusted and good performance in the market.
2. Before invest, observed the behavior and the fluctuation of value in the market.
3. If 1 of the altcoins or 2 or 3 or so on were experience of unexpectedly fall down of price. It is not good altcoins to invest.
4. Then the remaining altcoins were fluctuating almost stable I'm pretty sure that altcoins had good to invest.

This is my own strategies I hope it can help on you, also it is only a guide the final decision is on your hand.

My biggest problem in trading is that I was too brave to buy altcoin at a high price, and because of that I often lost my btc, even once I lost 50% of my btc when I bought altcoin at a price far above ICO.

So please give me feedback on this, what should I do?

Preferably before you buy should see first what kind of coins you will buy later, so we have accurate data, with this then a little problem will be reduced

Another strategy is only trade coins u dont mind holding if the market reverses. Getting 'stuck' with 2k worth of eth is way better than a bag of doge and pepe (dog n frog shit)

My experience before starting on trading. I invest in building mining rig and how did i get that amount of money ?, I get it through working on campaigns that are on-going. I just use the excess coins. I never spend that high amount of coins that i earn through campaigns and mining. My suggestion, is always check the currency of every coins. Try to research in google and youtube what is the trending coins today. Then if you think that your'e ready to jump in to trading and you already learn alot from different articles and ebooks. Then go ahead and make sure to handle your'e emotions when your coin's value are melting.

Its trading, you can't expect to buy at dip and sell on rally, its nonsense. You should have your own trading plan before entering any market, when will i entry and when will i exit my position, even bulls make money if the market is still on rally, what you should consider is how long will you hold your position before greed and fear takes you out  Grin
IMO, some altcoin do have more spikes and more volatility, best not to hold too long if you dont have any extra cash on hand  Cheesy Cheesy

I think it's better to hold your funds while you invest it in trading market, so that in the future you can sell your bitcoin and take the profit. So my advice to those traders online that they should store their funds for long term and wait for the exact moment when price will become much higher compared the price that you bought it with a cheaper value. You know it needs a lot of patience as you hold your funds needed enough time to wait.

Lots of good advice in this thread. I take advice from both people that say to trade and those that say you should just invest and hold on to bitcoin. I try and do a mix of both, buying bitcoin that I wont touch but then trading some bitcoin when the price goes up/down.

Honestly, there's no trading strategy that beats the maxim, "Buy low, sell high" Any other principle is garnish of the maxim. By the way OP, stay away from ICOs and coins with low volume.

In this case you are basing or following on your feelings without thinking off properly on when is the right time to buy a particular coin. Dont ever buy when the hype is high when you see peak prices because it would definitely dump later on because we wont should really assume that prices would continue to rise up more and more.Normally price do dumps or decrease after a certain rise and this should be the thing you should focused because wrong entry or wrong buying of coin would really be a cause of loss.In this case holding would be an another option but i would say it takes time for it to break even.

Firstly, you should not be over confident. Secondly, stop selling bitcoins for altcoins. Altcoins are nothing as compared to bitcoins. It’s as if you are selling diamond for purchasing gold. Even when the prices of bitcoins are dumping, it’s damn obvious that they will recover with a huge margin. So just stay patient when prices are low. Instead of panicking, hold onto your bitcoins.
I don't agree with you, we have different strategy to improve our income and I believe buying altcoins could give us money also as
not all altcoins are shitcoins. If you check on the top 10 market, some of those altcoins are cheap before but they grow more than 50 times which I
think would not be possible anymore in a short period of time if you put your money with bitcoin alone.
Well this is the true fact that for trading we have to first control our confidence and build patience for the trade. Selling bitcoin for altcoin will be the most stupid decision for the trade as its value will be increased beyond our imagination. Bitcoin is like gold and altcoin in front of bitcoin is like sand. So show some patience and wait for the right time.

yes that is right different people have different interested, some people like to trade bitcoin and they mostly hold their  bitcoin while other people like to invest  money in altcoin from where they can get good profit even by investing small amount of money.
All people invest according to their interests. But as far as I know, majority in the crypto world is after bitcoins. People love bitcoins to bits. The true traders hold to them when they are in downfall phase because they have great believe in the potential of bitcoins of the ruling world.

Just wait for the normal time to come in the trade. It is rare to happen because you have invested after the ICO ended which must be very high price. It also depends on the coin and the related project development. If the project is good enough then you may have "chances". Otherwise just withdraw money from the coin when it is at least close to your break even point.

If do that you will have a safe point on market, and I remember this type have a name is turtle trader. They always waiting a signal from market and when market "normaly", not as now very panic by the news can make the price fluctuations strong.
How we are not an economic  or business students that you are explaining things in very different language we also want to gain some knowledge by getting knowledge we will able to help other as well. What do you mean by fluctuation strong what do you mean by signal from market you mean green signal from market to invest or what are you talking?
That's the spirit that you have mentioned. I would like to salute to your statement. Fluctuation is actually the price where it is going up and down this is called fluctuation I hopefully you get the point. Fluctuation happen when the market goes upward and goes downward. It is still the same at the center point. For example you have an ice-cream the demand of ice-cream goes high so the price will goes upward.

For me thats right we have our own strategy its not a bad decision that if you are switch from bitcoin to altcoin it will be good on how you trade it. For me not all the time btc is good even it is a mother of all coin.

The best trading strategy is using the poloniex Poloniex is an online money trading in where you ca inveat your bitcoin. You can also buy a bitcoin and sell a bitcoin when the value of the bitcoin becomes higher.
So do you think using or trading in poloniex is a trading strategy? i just caught you suggesting an exchange is not a strategy that op asks indeed poloniex one of the great exchanges

Seems like very funny because I don't think Poloniex is trading strategy. As per my knowledge trading is just buy low and sell them at a high price, but you need to be careful when doing this because sometimes you need to wait for more than 2 r 3 months for profits.
I second your thought. Absolutely this is the simple and most successful trading strategy. All those who are used to crypto trading implement this strategy in order to double their money especially with their bitcoins. As you have mentioned, it needs some time and patience to let this strategy work properly.

At first you have to study the movement of graph and make a straregy to buy when it's on the lowest trend. You have to wait and make some thread asking when it go to highest trend by asking some idea to other, when it reaches highest trend it will fluctuate then you have to decide either to sell it or wait.
