Guys, what is up with Djokovic?
Has he taken up an acting career?
He's complaining of being injured, has a sore this and a sore that, is it gamesmanship to
put off his opponents? Its tiring looking at him TBH.

I'm pretty sure Nole is taking some "special medicine". Have you spotted how aggressive he is: he is yelling at his team, at fans etc. It started about a year ago. Approx. at that time he started drinking some strange looking potions his team give him. I was going to a gym for around 10-12 years and I can say that it's typical for peeps taking anabolic steroids/testosterone to have these anger outbursts. Is Nole on steroids now to compensate for his aging body?

Nobody noticed Casper Ruud beat Novak Djokovic at this tournament yet?

Was shocked because in old Novak fashion drops the first set and instantly takes the second being up 4-1.
Then I switched it off saying to myself, here we go again!
But when I checked the score found out he lost to the Norwegian player.

While watching his match yesterday against De Minaur, noticed he was out of breath in the second set and nearly to the brink of collapse. But managed to pull through it to take the set.
If it went to the third and final set for this match, I don't think he would of made it through and probably would of had to retire even if he didn't want to.
Somebody in the tennis chatroom I was in said he was talking some nonsensical things in the interview after the match. This I didn't hear but from the sound of it he was probably babbling on from heat exhaustion.

My deduction would be he was not in full health for this match against Casper thus dropping the final set to be out of the Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco.

Yes what a great win from Sinner, he dug deep to take the 3rd set although Rune's serve
abandoned him in his last game. Sinner plays Tsitsipas in todays semi final, this is a big
challenge, Tsitsipas has been playing at hos very top level, this is a big change.
My money is on Tsitispas today, he is a better clay player and has good H2H against Sinner, 5:3 in total but 3:1 on clay. Sinner on the other hand is playing in the form of his life and that makes this match 50/50 for me. Then when you see odds @3.7 for Tsitsipas it becomes no no-brainer. Don't think I have seen a more "value" bet in a long time.

And Tsitsipas is through to the Monte-Carlo final! It looked like Sinner had a thigh injury in the 3rd set though. I hope he gets well soon!

Sinner won again today this time against Rune.
He is back now in top 2 in the ATP leaderboard, he can't be 1 even he win the tournament.

The future of tennis is bright, with Sinner, Rune and Alcaraz, 3 players in top 5ish near 20years of age, impressive.

Did anyone see Tsitsipas v Zverev today? absolutely great match, Tsitsipas was fantastic,
its veen a while that he was this good eventhough in the second set he was up 5-0 but
Zverev caught up to bring the second set to a tie break.

Tsitsipas v Zverev encounter is a modern classic already. Tsitsipas managed to win yesterday, despite apparently losing focus and almost losing the match from a set up and 5:0 in second.

Today one match in the spotlight in Monte-Carlo: Sinner v Rune. Sinner is a heavy favourite in this one but who knows perhaps the Dane will be able to fight back today. Djokovic v de Minaur and Tsitsipas v Khachanov matchups also look promising.
In this round, Tsitsipas almost lost to Zverev, but he really gained confidence and finished everything well even though he was only quite narrowly difference Zverev.
This was quite an interesting match yesterday and apart from that there were also several matches that showed the favorites could finish with win.

For Sinner vs Rune, I think many will make Sinner the favorite and of course this is an easy match for Sinner, he just needs to focus on the match and finish each set faster.
Apart from that, in this quarter-final match it was clear who was the favorite and had the chance to win to advance to the next round.
I myself will follow their match and choose Tsitsipas, Sinner, Djokovic and also Ruud, maybe to finish in the final match we can see Djokovic and Sinner meet again.

It makes sense to try and bet on Rune today - the odds of 6.60 look like good value.
They played once against each other on clay, in last year's Monte Carlo semis, and Rune won in a closely fought match.

Sinner is surely the in-form player at this point in time, but on clay the odds on him shouldn't be so low.

Based on Djokovic' demolition of Safiullin earlier in the week I would say de Minaur
doesnt have a chance but based on Djokovic' struggles with Musetti I would give Alex
a great chance of winning.

Ah Sinner v Rune starts shortly, TBH I cant see Rune winning this, he had a 4 hout stint
on the courts yesterday overall while Sinner as always has looked very fresh so far.

The other quarter final is Humbert v Ruud, tricky one for both players, Humbert is s different
player this year so far but yea Ruud is on his favourite surface...

Well Djokovic looked fairly strong for someone who has  not played tennis for a number of weeks!
Easy enough win over a potentially tricky Safiulin 6-1 and 6-2.
You're right, there was almost no threat at all from Safiulin for Djokovic, and he made it to the next round fairly easily. Today Djokovic will face Musetti, the tennis player who beat him last year in this tournament, if I'm not mistaken, I don't know if this Italian tennis player will be able to beat Djokovic, and if Musetti manages to beat Djokovic then this year there will be three Italian players who have beaten him.

Daniil Medvedev was eliminated in this tournament to Khachanov and it was not surprising because clay is a surface he doesn't like.
Zverev lost the first set to Tsitsipas and in the second set his serve was broken by Tsitsipas, my prediction is that it will only take two sets for Tsitsipas to win.

Djokovic is struggling in this match. He was losing the first set but was able to turn it around and take the first set. I think after winning the first set Djokovic will easily beat Musseti in the second set but still anything can happen.
Medvedev is bad on clay and he himself told everyone that he hates playing on clay so this is such a big surprise that he was eliminated again on clay.

Yup, a different performance from Djokovic today, Musetti gave him a good match.

Medvedev is just not himself on clay, he is frustrated, he was giving out a lot.

Live right now Humbert vs Sonego. Match enough balanced match the two players have won both one set...
Now they started the third set, it deserve a view, there are very loud supporters for both players (that is not pretty common...)
edit: first breakpoint just win by Humbert...

ONG what a noisy bunch of kids that were cheering on both players, I dont think I ever
heard such loud supporters even at the AO!

Humbert was able to beat Sonego, the French man us playing fairly consistently lately.

Sinner and Sonego played a doubles match today and lost in 2 close sets and a
close deciding tie break, we will probably see more of them before the olympics
perhaps as they look to potentially compete there as doubles?
They have played very well in doubles since last year's Davis Cup, it is surprising that Sinner is still playing doubles in this big tournament because I thought he would be concentrating fully on singles to avoid fatigue, but it could be that he is preparing in doubles for the Olympics because this time the Olympics will also be played on a clay surface.

Novak Djokovic will play today against Roman Safiulin, a player who can sometimes give tough resistance to top players, and serve is the most powerful weapon for him to get points, but still Djokovic's odds are very low and I'm not so sure he will do well in this tournament, maybe the semifinals will be the furthest step here and if Alcaraz is fit they can meet in the semifinals.

Now I know its easy to say this but there are only 3 players who can stop Djokovic based on his
performance today, Sinner, Zverev and maybe Medvedev, Alcaraz has pulled out as we all expected.

Today was a disappointing day for Berrettini after winning the Marrakech tournament at the weekend,
really disappointing that he has bowed out at the hands of Kecmanović, hopefully its only temporary
and that he can build again for the next tournament, I think we all want to see Mateo back at the
top of his game.

Alcaraz picking up an injury just before the Monte Carlo masters is all over the news outlets today. He hasn't withdrawn yet, if I'm not mistaken, but bad news for sure for every Carlitos fan.

Ouch thats painful, he missed last years Monte Carlo tournament from injury, lets
see how he performs tomorrow against Felix AA.

Is it a bit concerning that at his young age Alcaraz is picking up "serious" injuries
and for example Sinner doesnt seem to be?

It is his last chance but not sure if he is the favorite to win it. With all the young talents (Alcaraz, Sinner, …) it will be hard for him. Lets see how he can perform on his return to Monte Carlo; too bad Nadal will skip it due to his injuries.

In the past I was still confident when Nadal skipped a tournament but the Grand Slams came closer. He usually was very consequent in skipping smaller ones for the sake of playing the bigger ones. But this has changed in the last two or three years and he rigorously skips any tournament at any time if he doesn't feel well. Hence, it is not a good sign this time again that he still isn't back on the court.

He's already said that 2024 will be his last season. It would be sad to not see him play Roland Garros, or honestly, it would be just as sad if he does play the GS and then has to give up at some point because his body goes on strike. That's another concern I would have in the back of my head every round he'd play.
