Nevermind, Lucic-Baroni wins in 3 sets. takes a medical timeout while she was trailing and injured. Comes back strong enough to get past Pliskova. Pliskova seemed to be out of form. Lucic-Baroni had more aces than Pliskova. Not often that it happens that a player hits more aces and winners while playing against Pliskova. I think Pliskova leads last year WTA for most aces in the season.
Karolina Pliskova wins the 2nd set 6-3 and is now leading 4-3 in the 3rd. Lucic-Baroni seems to have injured her Hamstring. It sucks that soo many players had to bow out due to injury. Tennis has become equal parts talent+form and fitness on that particular day. So many players had been playing better than the opposition but coz of injury concerns had to step back during this Australian Open. The other name I could think off was Istomin. He was playing way better than Dimitrov but the injury to his legs limited his movement and couldnt do much about it. Would have been winning in 4 sets. Instead, lost in 4.

I agree with you on this, if Federer plays like he just did against Zverev then I think he can beat Wawrinka but I do believe it will be a close match and could go to 5 sets. It's shaping up to be a Federer/Nadal final which would be great to see, two of the best players ever playing once again in a Grand Slam final. I think most tennis fans want to see this and are hoping for this to happen and it may well just happen with the way both players are playing at the moment. It's just like the old days.

Hard luck mate! came close with the tie breaker in the first set but he never looked like winning the match or set. I generally dont rate Tsonga highly but he should have at least got a set out of Stan Wawrinka. Its going to be all Swiss affair in the first semi finals and we will find out who will make it into the 2nd semi finals. Raonic vs Nadal should be a good one.
Tsonga became hazy in his confidence when he saw Wawrinka giving a hard fight to him, even the second set was won by Wawrinka which increased his chances of winning, must have made Tsonga think like he is out. Confidence level matters a lot in Tennis because when you start losing your sets, you might make a mindset that you may lose which should never happen. But don't fall for Raonic as Nadal won't let him win this one.

Well all favorites drop out almost in all competition both men and women. Lost yesterday on Kerber multi on 10 games 9 won and that was lost shame, did expect to see her play better but she was destroyed by Vandeweghe she dominate whole match.
Now i can only say and wish that Federer and Nadal will play final.

I also think Nadal can beat Raonic in the quarter finals as he is playing some great tennis at the moment and is looking like the old Nadal from a few years ago when he was in top form. That would be an epic final if Nadal and Federer make it and if they do I'm sure it will be a final to remember for years to come. I'm actually hoping it is a Federer/Nadal final, two of the greatest players going head to head once again for a Grand Slam title. First Federer has to get through M. Zverev which won't be an easy task but I think Federer can get the job done.
Stan will more than likely win against Tsonga because he is the type of competitor who is like shark who smells the blood in the water then goes for the attack. I noticed that in him when watching him play last year to win a tournament.
