Sri Lanka managed to set up a 500 plus target for Bangladesh, which is going to be next to impossible for the hosts to achieve. Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque are at the crease and after today two more days of play remain. Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hossain Shanto are back in pavilion with single digit scores against their name. Shahadat Hossain, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are to come next, but it is just a matter of time before Lankans wrap this match. And once again, it is the Lankan seamers who are doing most of the damage.

It's like Bangladeshi bowling vs Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis. In first innings both have a partnership of 202 runs and in second innings both have partnership of 173 runs. There are not much chances of Bangladesh winning this test, as they have lost 5 wickets in second innings. Zakar Hasan was the only Bangladeshi batsmen to make it to double figure in second innings. We will see result in first or second session of 4th day.
Dhananjaya de Silva
and
Kamindu Mendis

Bangladesh's bowling line failed completely against Sri Lanka's top two batsmen. The above two batsmen have scored centuries in the first and second innings which is a world record.
What can I say to the batsmen of Bangladesh? It is surprising to think that such a poor performance will be performed in the venue of your own country. Three batsmen in Bangladesh have already been dismissed for zero runs and with this dismissal for zero runs, Bangladesh has faced a batting disaster. Only time will tell if Bangladesh can get 100 runs very likely.

The game went the way Sri Lanka wanted. At the end of 3rd day, Sri Lanka still have a lead of 464 runs while they are just 5 wickets away from win.
Sri Lankan centurion of first inning Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis made an even larger centuries in the 2nd inning propelling the already present lead of Sri Lanka. They made a 500+ lead before being all out which is a rare target for the team batting the final inning in Test match to achieve.
Bangladesh started even poor than the first innings. They lost five of their batsmen at a score of 37. There's no hope for Bangladesh to reach the current target of 464 or bat the remaining whole days. So, unless a miracle, Sri Lanka are already the winners here.

LOL, I don't know why Bangladesh organizes test matches. I will say Bangladesh team has no qualification to play test match. Just a waste of time. The performance of both batsmen and bowlers of Bangladesh in Test format is very poor.

In the second innings, the Sri Lankan players batted brilliantly. Set a huge target of 511 runs. And the interesting thing is that Bangladesh lost two wickets to collect only 9 runs. Joy failed to score any runs and Shanto was dismissed for just 6 runs. Batting with a target of 511 runs, the Bangladesh team has made such a terrible start. I can't remember the last time we saw good batting from this team in the Test format.

This is the scorboard of  Bangladesh team when the target is 511 runs. The more important thing is that the match is being held at Bangladesh's home ground. The match is being held in Sylhet, and the Bangladeshi players are very well aware of this pitch.

I never imagined that the players of any team could bat like that. Bangladesh has been playing in Test format for a long time. Also Bangladesh Cricket Board is quite rich. However, we do not see any improvement in this team. Bangladesh are weaker in the Test format than teams like Ireland, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. And BCB is not taking any proper steps for the overall improvement of the team. Bangladesh should play only in ODI and T20 format. I agree with you that Bangladeshi players have no qualification to play in test format.

Sri Lankan are doing serious violation of human rights with Bangladeshi bowlers are also supporting them for this all with giving too many extra runs after having 126 for 6 I was not expecting things like these currently we are having 425 runs lead which is huge for them and Nahid Rana give 2 wide boundaries but still done good with having 5 wickets in his debut test.
Kamindu Mendis on 100 runs look like Sri Lankan are not going to give any chance to their opponents which is surely not allowed inning run-rate is over 3.6, and we have already 27 wickets in three days which is making this match good entertaining with things are now completely under their control, and they can lead in this series.
You are right dude haha. Sri Lanka is now playing extremely good when therefore we get out at around 100 I thought that there will not gonna able to touch 200 only on the second innings in this test match. But again the dhananjaya de silva took his century and save his team. And he did his duty well. Also on the other hand Kamindu Mendis is playing very well today he is 165 runs I think he will last till last. And I definitely want to say that Bangladesh is the winner in this match
We have worst ever start for the Bangladesh while they are chasing for the 511 runs, and they lost their both openers very quickly in just first three overs of their inning which mean things are going to be terrible for them in this test match while they are having nothing positive Sri Lanka is having impressive batting in both innings of this test match with 4 centuries bring them to this point now they are going to have big won which will give them good confidence.
Most chances we will have tomorrow last day of this first test match with in first three days we have already 32 wickets and now just 8 more needed by Sri Lanka for having win in this match and take lead in this series with Bangladesh having nothing to chase these 500 runs target.
Sri Lanka set a target of 280 runs to Bangladesh in the first innings but Bangladesh could not cross that target and lost all their wickets for just 188 runs. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka scored 418 in the second innings. Now Bangladesh need 497 runs to win the match.  Meanwhile, where Bangladesh has lost 2 wickets for 10 runs, it is foolish to expect to win the match by crossing such a big score. Looking at Bangladesh's performance, it seems that they have given up because of fear and that is why their performance has fallen completely

SL is in a commanding position in the 1st test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. In the 2nd inning BAN bowlers did well initially and took 6 wickets for 126 runs, But again, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis came to rescue their team. An unbeaten partnership of over 150 runs took the game away from Bangladesh. de Silva is playing the captain's inning again, he scored a beautiful hundred. The lead is touching 400 and the chances are that Sri Lanka might declare the inning in the 3rd session today. To win this match, BAN has to play some exceptional cricket, but I think, on this pitch, they might not be able to chase such a huge target in the 4th inning. Sri Lanka is winning the test by a big margin.
You are right an Outstanding performance by Sri Lanka team after the early fall of wickets they set a huge target for Bangladesh. Kamindu Mendis played an amazing innings of 164 runs alongside Dhananjaya de Silva 108 runs helped Sri Lanka to set a 500 plus run target for Bangladesh. Bangladesh give poor bowling and batting performance they lost his 2 wickets in just 14 runs. They need 497 runs to win this quite impossible to win from this position. Sri Lanka will win this match by huge margin.

The match is done and dusted for Poor Bongs. They just needed wickets of Dhananjaya and Kamindu Mendis. Surely, it wasn't an easy task to get them out cheaply. Back to back tons for Dhananjaya and the latter also inching towards his consecutive ton.

Lead already feels like Everest and now every run from here is harassment and should fall under human rights violation.
Like the first innings, the Bangladeshi bowlers failed to pick up quick wickets of Dhananjaya De Silva and Kamindu Mendis in the second innings as well. And again these two batsmen scored centuries. Dhananjaya De Silva was dismissed with 108 runs and Kamindu Mendis remained unbeaten with 100 runs. Sri Lanka collection 338/7.

Bangladeshi bowlers could bowl well at the beginning of the innings, but gradually their bowling started to deteriorate. We see the same thing in the second innings total of the first innings. Sri Lanka has now managed to take a lead of 430 runs. And on this pitch it is impossible to win by batting at such a big target in the last innings.
Now the drinks break is underway. And the Sri Lankan team collected 408 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. Sri Lanka team lead by 500 runs. I don't know why Sri Lanka is not declaring an innings. Kamindu Mendis remains unbeaten with 155 runs. The Sri Lankan team will probably not declare the innings. Sri Lanka will bat until all wickets are lost.

A humiliating defeat awaits the Bangladesh team. In the first innings, the Bangladesh team managed to collect only 188 runs. It is also unlikely that Bangladesh will bat well in the second innings. Because in the past we have seen the performance of Bangladeshi batsmen deteriorates in the second innings of Test matches. I will not be surprised if Bangladesh lose this match by a margin of 300 runs.

We all might be looking at another Test match defeat for the Bangladesh team. The way Sri Lanka is batting and scoring runs, it seems that it is completely impossible for Bangladesh to win this match, maybe Bangladesh team's target will be to draw this match. This test match is going out of Bangladesh's reach as much as the Sri Lankan batsmen are making runs. Dhananjay de Silva and Kamindu Mendis are the biggest the enemy for the Bangladesh team as both of them scored a century in the first innings as well as they both completed a century in the second innings as well. These two Sri Lankan batsmen have put the Bangladeshi bowlers to the extreme test mainly because of their batting performance, Sri Lanka has built a mountain of runs against Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka have already given a lead of 430 runs from the Bangladesh team, they are not all out yet, maybe they can declare an innings. The lack of experience in the Bangladesh team had a clear impact on their bowling in the first and second innings against Sri Lanka in the first test match.

Those top order batters are already in the dugout and we shouldn't forget in the first inning Sri Lankan went from 258/5 to 280/all out.

Still, there is a chance that they could reach the 300 mark but it mostly depends on Skipper Dhanajaya and Kamidu because so far, only these 2 scored a ton in this match. No complaints on the pitch from my side.
102 from Dhananjaya de Silva and 102 from Kamindu Mendis has kept Sri Lanka ahead of Bangladesh in this match. Apart from these two batsmen there is complete batting failure from both sides. The 202 runs partnership and 92 runs lead in first innings has turned the table towards Sri Lanka and it's very much likely that Sri Lanka might won this test.
Sylhet pitch was much better when NZ played here the last test and now it's behaving like Mirpur Mine Field.
De Silva and Mendis' partnership of 202 runs in the first innings allowed the Sri Lankan team to collect 280 runs. Apart from Dhananjata De Silva and Mendis, none of the batsmen in the squad performed well. On the other hand, we have seen the usual poor performance from the Bangladeshi batsmen. At the end of the first innings, the Bangladesh team was trailing by 92 runs. It's by a huge margin on this pitch.

I would say the outcome of the match will depend on today's first session performance. If Sri Lanka can collect up to 200 runs, and give a target of 280-290 runs, then I would say there is no chance for Bangladesh to win. Bangladesh squad now lacks a batsman who can bat responsibly and play big innings.

I won't be surprised if Sri Lanka lose all wickets between 160-170 if the Bangladeshi bowlers do well in the first session. It is difficult to stay at the crease in the first session on this pitch.
Bangladesh team has not won even one of the last 10 Test matches against Sri Lanka. And I will say that the Bangladesh team is definitely going to be defeated in this match as well. And it is impossible to do well in the Test format with a weak and erratic batting order.

Earlier in the day Sri Lanka lost the wicket of Fernando. But like the first innings, the duo of De Silva and Mendis are batting brilliantly in the second innings as well. This pair has already collected 70 runs. Sri Lanka collected 196 runs after losing 6 wickets. Dhananjaya De Silva remained unbeaten on 63 runs and Mendis on 35 runs. Sri Lanka team has managed to take a lead of 288 runs. I do not see the possibility of Bangladesh winning this match.

There is no possibility that Bangladesh will win this test match. And I would say Bangladesh will lose this match by a big margin.
Dhananjaya De Silva scored a century in the second innings as well as in the first innings. De Silva and Mendis have been batting brilliantly today. Sri Lanka collected 293 runs. De Silva remains unbeaten on 107 off 172 balls and Mendis remains unbeaten on 80. The Sri Lankan team is leading by a big margin of 385.

Bangladesh's batting order is weak. Experienced batsmen like Shakib, Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah are not with the squad. And almost every batsman's performance is erratic. It is not possible for Bangladesh to win by batting at 400+ targets in such a situation.

Dimuth Karunaratne made fifty while captain de Silva and Kamindu Mendis on the crease the current partnership going on 107 runs between these players Captain De Silva was just 15 runs behind to make a century in 23 innings he scored a century also in 1st innings on other hand Nahid Rana takes two wickets while other four bowlers took single wickets Bangladesh scored very low in 1st innings they need to takes remaining wickets in 2nd session of day two under the target of 35 runs otherwise it will be impossible for Bangladesh team to chased this huge total. Yes those two Sri Lankan batsmen were the biggest obstacle in front of Bangladesh and they played a big innings showing their strength. Sri Lanka team is 221 runs ahead of Bangladesh now but they have one more day to play and with five wickets in hand maybe this target will be much bigger for Bangladesh. Today the Bangladeshi bowlers will have to bowl much better and they will have to aim so that the Sri Lankan team cannot give them a target of more than 300 runs. The more Sri Lanka scores 300 runs the more difficult it will be for Bangladesh to cross that mark.
But the good news for the Bangladesh team is that their all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is returning to cricket in the second Test match against Sri Lanka. Shakib Al Hasan is missing the entire series against Sri Lanka due to eye problem, maybe he is missing a lot in the Bangladesh team. He might come back to the game and strengthen the Bangladesh team.
Sri Lanka team has already given a lead of 260 runs to Bangladesh which will be very difficult for Bangladesh. Because the way Sri Lanka is batting they will be able to score some more runs. The Bangladeshi bowlers are trying their best to restrict Sri Lanka to less runs with their best bowling. Bangladesh finished the first innings so badly due to batting disaster in their first innings Bangladesh batsmen were all out for only 188 runs. Second innings If Bangladesh wants to win the first test match against Sri Lanka then Bangladesh must bat well in the second innings otherwise they can never win against Sri Lanka.
