In the 2nd Test match of New Zealand vs South Africa team, South Africa team came to bat in the 1st Innings and scored 242 runs in 97.2 overs. New Zealand team came to bat today. New Zealand team was all out in 77.3 overs today. So far New Zealand team 31  Running behind. The bowling line of the South Africa team is very good due to which the South Africa team did not allow the batsmen of the New Zealand team to stay on the field.

Who would've thought that Proteas 2nd string team could fight back, looking good right? They have nothing to lose so why not go out and express yourself?
This was completely unexpected there. Looks like the 7th wicket partnership of South Africa will have a significant impact on the result of this test match. This pitch is very difficult for batting, and the highest run chase is only 212 in test match on this field. It could be difficult for New Zealand to win against this weak team if South Africa manage to take a lead of 250 runs.

South Africa lead by 31 runs so there is nothing to keep South Africa ahead in this Test match as we all know about New Zealand batsmen they can turn the outcome of any match in any direction.

According to the current situation of the test, we can't say anything because the South African team also played well while the New Zealand team played well at bowling so all the things scraped. New Zealand batsmen Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra also didn't play well this time.

In the last match, the South African team lost a test match with New Zealand, and at that time, how good New Zealand batsmen and bowlers played well, but this time all the things went opposite. South African teams are also allowed to play better. If in the next innings or the next day New Zealand team can't play well they should try to draw the match because it is better than losing.

What a comeback for South Africa after only able to score 242 runs in the first innings. They got the Kiwis all out for 211 runs which means they are still trailing by 31 runs. The wicket in this test favored the bowler whereas in the first test, it was batters paradise. This test match is going to be entertaining as tomorrow the South Africans will come to bat and how many runs they can put on board will decide who will win the game. The wicket would be helping the Kiwis and it won't be easy for the batters to get 200 or more runs on the scoreboard.
South Africa finished the second day of play ahead of New Zealand so far in the second Test after losing the first Test by a big margin to New Zealand. In the first innings of the second test, South Africa scored 242 runs against New Zealand, but South Africa managed to bowl out New Zealand for only 211 runs in the first innings. When South Africa were bowled out for 211 runs, Ampere declared the end of the second day's play. Both the teams have completed their first innings and South Africa are leading New Zealand by 31 runs at the end of the first innings between the two teams. The two teams were almost evenly matched in the first innings so now the second innings will decide the win or loss for both the teams.

South Africa lead by 31 runs so there is nothing to keep South Africa ahead in this Test match as we all know about New Zealand batsmen they can turn the outcome of any match in any direction.

yeah! New Zealand batters might change the outcome of the game. But not happy with that performance, they need to do better.

This South African's team, even though they don't have much experience, did pretty good. Being ahead by only 31 runs isn't much. South African team needs to score a lot in their second innings of the second test, while New Zealand needs to get them out quickly. It's too soon to say New Zealand lost their control over the game. I think the team that scores the most runs will win. Hopefully, New Zealand's bowlers do well, and have a target that isn't too crazy.
The result of the first match must not be forgotten. In the first match we saw that New Zealand could not score the runs that South Africa scored in 1 innings in 2 innings. It may be that New Zealand did not bat well in the first innings but they will certainly bat well in the second innings. Since South Africa will be batting in the second innings, New Zealand will have a target in front of them and will get a chance to bat according to that target. The way both the teams batted in the first innings, it seems that batting on this wicket is a bit difficult. As both the teams could not score many runs in the first innings, the second innings is going to be tougher for both the teams. It will not be a surprise if South Africa are all out for fewer runs than in the first innings. However, with the current position of the two teams, it seems that the rest of the game will surely be an interesting one.

No matter who is playing, the overall middle order is looking too inexperienced to be with a couple of debutants, they are good bat but the international test cap brings a different sort of pressure.

I agree but I feel in these bilateral series they will do just fine.

I was wondering why cricket has more watching as compared to other sports and there are people will to see all the series whether it is bilateral or leagues , International or national.

It is a simple answer because other sports like hockey, basketball, Ice hockey, and others are usually not likely by people and these types of sports are not allowed to be played in any location like Ice hockey.

You can't play Ice Hockey in parks and playgrounds, but cricket is a sport that if you want to play so 2 players also can play and mostly in Asian Countries we have seen that there are people who can be inside the home with TV and others things of glass that can be broken if any hard thing hit on it. Asian people can play at a room that is high 5 meters. If you don't believe on it so I am sure you are not from any Asian Countries, especially India and Pakistan.

I think after a long long time finally new Zealand get such complete young quality all rounder In shape of rachin ravindra. He is still young and to be honest his coach tactics really work by giving opportunity to him especially at recent world Cup at top order position and that thing really give them extra confidence to believe in your self and perform at every difficult situation without any fear and now results is Here, anyway south African team performance were quite off colour and the reason may be due to presence of many unexperienced and new names, now they had just scored 220 and lose most of thier most important six wickets, no doubt now thier lowe middle order made decent partnership but I don't think it will stay long and will make difference

In the first test match, the New Zealand team played very well, they are trying to play like that as they played in the first match but I don't think so that this time New Zealand will win. New Zealand all out at 211 runs shows weakness in their batting but at the same time South Africa making only 242 is also not as per the test match standard.

In the first match, the South African team was trying to find the bowling that they did against India in a test match that was held in January 2024 or December 2023. At that time, South Africa was in search of wickets, and now the New Zealand team is in search of runs. Let's see what happens still three days and 2 innings left in between will see one time South Africa batting and one time New Zealand team batting. Let's see what happens in the next three days. Anything can happen. Cricket is the game that have not sure about.

What the heck is going on with New Zealand? I cannot believe that they are trailing the South Africans by a small margin in their own backyard when they literally decimated them in the previous test.

Piedt was excellent with the ball and this just goes to show that many people including me underestimated this second string South African side.

Kiwis were in a quite comfortable position at 145/3 before their middle order collapsed. Tshepo Moreki started the slide when he nabbed Rachin Ravindra. Then Dane Paterson and Dane Piedt did the rest. If not for the crucial knock from Neil Wagner, Kiwis would have been in great trouble by now. He took them from 183/9 to 211. William O’Rourke also played his part by surviving for 20 balls. I would say that the Proteas have a psychological upper hand. Now it is upto Neil Brand and David Bedingham to get them to a good total in the second innings.

New update on the squad:  KL Rahul is ruled out for the 3rd test. Paddikal is his replacement.

Ok Paddikal is replacement but in playing XI, it's Sarfraz Khan to replace Rahul's batting position, also I heard people shortforming (if it's even word) Devdutt Paddikal to DDP which I find pretty dope, I know it's obvious now, but didn't cross my mind before. Plus, Dhruv Jurel is to replace KS Bharat for wicket keeping position.

^ posted by Indian express, but they have source named (source being, Devendra Pandey), so I like to believe it's true, let's see in match how it goes.

Hope these two make their impact for chance they have been given.

Patidar also likely gonna stay in playing XI due to Kohli still being out, while I hope Sundar will get chance in playing XI too, I just have that soft corner for all-rounders  Grin

Paddikal is Top order batter and bats at number 3 for his state so i am not sure where he's gonna fit in the Playing XI. He's in good knick but so is Sarfaraz and he was added in the squad before Paddikal so IMO Sarfaraz should play ahead of him.

Yea, that's what I meant too (i.e, Sarfraz is likely to play in playing XI), I dunno I sometimes get brain farts and do not word sentences properly, even on re-read they appear fine so I just go ahead and post but after a while when I re-read as now you quoted and I re-read, I see the mistake.

Amazing comeback from the Proteas after the hammering that they received in the first match. They are now leading by 31 runs. The partnership between Ruan de Swardt and Shaun von Berg changed everything. They were 150/6 and eventually got to 242 all out. And in return, Dane Paterson and Dane Piedt never gave any breathing space for the Kiwis, as they ended up at 211. Three days remain in this match, and anything can happen from now on. So I will be a bit cautious here. But still I'd say that the Proteas have an upper hand.

New Zealand vs South Africa today 2nd Test match South Africa team came to the field to bat. I am waiting to see how well the New Zealand team can play in the 2nd Test match. Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand team bowled 21 overs and took 3 wickets with 33 runs.  .Rachin Ravindra bowled very well today.Neil Wagner took 1 wicket with 28 runs in 15 overs.

New Zealand all out 211 rins in first inning of second test match and they have 31 runs trail now at the end of day 2. The South Africa batting first and scored 242 runs all out Swardt standout with 64 runs scored. New Zealand batsmen tom Latham 40 runs highest from all batters in first inning. South Africa now looking in good position to win this match if they set a big total of more then 300 runs then they have good Chances to win this test match and level the 2 match series. Dane Piedt outstanding bowling performance picked five-wicket haul in his bowling spell.

New Zealand vs South Africa, 2nd Test match is started and 1st Innings is still ongoing on. South Africa won the toss and already done their batting by collecting total 242-10 in estimate 92 overs. Top batsman seems not played well but their mid order batsman and all rounder players had done brilliant performance. Shaun von Berg did 38, David Bedingham scored 39 and Ruan de Swardt scored 64, who alone done his half century. Besides Rachin Ravindra hunted 3 wickets and William ORourke got 4. New Zealand batting is started. And their performance was good enough. But after 145-4 point, rest of players start losing wickets with a few runs. And now New Zealand team is troubling with 172-8 where New Zealand still trail by 70 runs

In second test match South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 220/6 in end if day 1 in second test match against NewZealand. South Africa two bastem is playing well and on carees R. de Swardtb is playing at 55 unbeaten and S. von Berg are playing at 34 not out. Sound Africa have ability to score a big total of more then 300 runs for NewZealand.

South Africa batting once fail to produce big score. Ruan de Swardt 64 runs inning did some rescue work for South Africa. New Zealand bowlers did a good job by bowling out South Africa for just 242 runs. William O’Rourke is playing his first test and got 4 wickets on debut and Rachin Ravindra got 3 wickets.
No problem so far for NewZealand in first innings. New Zealand have lost 4 wickets and they trail by 97 runs. New Zealand might be able to score 300 runs in first innings.

They were 150/6 when David Bedingham got out. But then South Africa made a remarkable recovery, with Ruan de Swardt and Shaun von Berg fighting it out in the middle.
In general, the 70 runs partnership can't be addressed as remarkable recovery in the 7th wicket partnership. This kind of partnership is common in the late wicket partnership of test cricket when the top order fails. But it is indeed a remarkable recovery for the weak squad of South Africa. Still, I think they will be all out within 300 runs on day two.
