^^ I am also not expecting any heroic effort from this England side as their batting struggled throughout this series and Jonny Bairstow was able to score a century but he is not that consistent with his performance. Ben Stokes got lucky as always, he would have dismissed earlier when a ball hit the stumps but the bails did not move an inch.

Bairstow is the lone warrior for England currently. Few others like Stokes etc good starts, but couldn't convert them into big scores. I cannot imagine the pressure that Bairstow is under because he knows that their innings is over once he gets out.

He is basically trying to waste as many balls as possible in order to force a draw which is the most likely outcome at this point.

Edit: Bairstow just got out as I was typing this post. Boland is on fire. Australia still has a decent chance to win this one. This match just became a bit more interesting.

Another match getting wasted by the English team. If they could have batted on the fourth day then the situation would have been different. In recent times, Haseeb Hameed is consistently opening for England regardless of no big hitting but Zak Crawley is a replacement for Rory Burns but he is also struggling to provide a good start for the visitors.

In the first week of 2022 we saw two upsets, Ban beating NZ and SA beating India but still England wasn't able to change there losing pattern. Surely they are going to lose this game and the next test march also. Australia is good side but Enand should have done something.

In my opinion, this match is heading towards a draw. I know England batter has not been performing well but they can easily stay on the pitch for the next two days. They should not chase this target as they will not be able to do so it is better to stay on the pitch and spend time.
This will also help them to avoid a complete whitewash.
