Last night I saw at coindesk news about the fight to have control over the funds. Actually these $400 million raised during ICO caused the problem which doesn't look good for the future of ICO's generally. These kind of issues will invite authorities to step in these markets. I wanted to buy luckily didn't pick yet.

Tezos is in very critical situation after some legal issues this will hurt the investors so badly in result of this people are going to lose their who will get panic after these news. I think this is really long term project so we have to wait for years to see some progress on this project.

So is this project going to get cancelled? If so are investors going to get refunded?

What is happening related to funds this fight has reached at legal authorities. It isn't good because price is sure thing and investors like me who invested are going suffer for all this period. I know dump will be bought by whales to manipulate the market later but we didn't want to see this happening even didn't imagine these things.

It's true even much hard to believe but all investors will be into deep trouble this project has so many issues. But there is still chance this dispute between team members will get resolved so keep hope soon there will be good solution otherwise this ship is sinking now.

Here's a dedicated thread on the topic of the Tezos Founders entering a "Legal Battle for Control of $400m in Raised ICO Funds"

This looks to be pretty worse than I saw for SONM project at the start.Would be happy if they focus on the development part and deliver the product first and then decide who gets the better. If tezos was already released and trading, I bet it would have fallen 50% below ICO after such news.

The ico funds are on ice, so they can't focus on development and deliver the product.

I would love to know what are these "unique" features.

Smart contract language - OCalm
Updates of the chain without hardforks
Transaction speed at the begining - 1000 tx/s (but i'm not sure)
POS staking

Of course tezos will be huge, the features it has are unique.
And it can be bigger than ethereum the developers learn from ETH mistakes.

Wait and see.

I would love to know what are these "unique" features.

The whole thing is orchestrated so that Tezos launches with a dump and whales manage to get control of larger parts of the supply. It will not surprise me if there are a lot more bad news to come just to make weak hands shake in fear and dump it immediately. Interesting times for sure. Also that launch in February is not coincidental, they want to launch at the end of the bear market for alts and just before start of the summer bull.

Way more money that is necessary to develop Tezos was collected, so I can't fathom how no money has been spent on development thus far. Sure, I can see some of the money being fought over and put on ice, but all of it?! How on earth could this happen?
For anyone jumping on me for criticising the Breitmans, they waited to tell investors this news the same day the WSJ article came out. So in other words, they kept this from them as long as possible and would have kept all in the dark forever without a news article exposing this horrendous mismanagement of investors' funds.
That is fucked up.
This should have been made public and attempt to get rid of whoever was stopping development funds months ago.

Couldn't agree more. What is the meaning of raising $230M? More publicity? More money equals to more success? Why?

There supposed to be a hardcap! $20M would be enough. Look this statement statement from Arthur; https://medium.com/@arthurb/the-path-forward-eb2e6f63be67

***Best estimate***

Dev team fell short. You raise $232M(Currently +$500M plus without including Bitcoin Cash) yet you fail to hire some couple more devs, for real?

* I invested to Tezos. To people who will call me a fudster, you can't always praise what you invested. There is no progress without arguing, criticizing the work.

They raised ridiculous amount of money... I think the last number is around 400M. It's way too much for software startup, problems are inevitable

You have a handful of people sitting on nearly half a billion dollars.  I think some legal battles and disagreements are to be expected.
