The OP was banned in June, likely for plagiarism, yet he keeps on still receiving congratulation posts on this thread ...

Granted that we can’t see the banned status on people’s profile directly, but it has been pointed out a couple of times on this thread. As to the OP having worked hard to get the merit, well …
I thought threads of banned accounts are locked by moderators. I’m sure there are others like myself who think that’s the case and are not aware that OP has been banned or people just ignore and congratulate anyway to complete a post quota for bounty/sig campaigns. It’s a shame he could have done better....plagiarism is the quickest door out of the forum. This thread should be a lesson to those who intend to plagiarize the works of others and think they can get away with it.

first merit on Bitcointalk ??  Grin Grin hopefully waiting for that feeling......  Wink
Wow, havent seen something like you before. You have almost over 1000 posts and not a single merit? Thats just insane. In my opinion even if your post quality was very bad it is also connected to very bad luck, because usually someone gives you at least one merit.
@cryptolakshi's post is full of bounty reports and it falls into the 'very low' category of posts Cheesy

to get 'merit' requires quality post quality and that requires knowledge and seriousness from the poster. @cryptolakshi you will definitely get your first 'merit' if you make a good post.

Well it's really encouraging seriously because the first time I receive merit I was very happy and it gives me the strength and caurage that one day one time I will also be there. Also going through the posts on the forum I found the very interesting and I learn that it's not only bounty that it's made for but couple of activities and alot of people are really present in the forum to help on any questions. Congratulations on your merit bro.

I see we’re still congratulating a banned account on this thread (OPs) …

If anybody is interested in seeing the first merited post of any (non-airdropped) merited account, I’ve updated a file which I published some months ago on another thread. Data is now as of 13/08/2021:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_I7WfxSnzOe7wvjE9dJ-aqH59PnfsMnKSVzycYljrx0/edit?usp=sharing

Anecdotally, there are 113 accounts that were awarded 50 Merits on their first received merit TX. Going some of them is not for the faint of heart …

Don't take merits too seriously, just keep contributing and before you know it many merits will rain down on you, focus more on making good contributions, 1 merit isn't something to create topic about honestly

Oh God, I can feel how you feeling because I just experienced it yesterday. It was an awesome feeling lol. All this time I usually attended threads on the Alternate Cryptocurrencies only, then yesterday I start to decide to level up my game and try to be more active on other threads too.

Apparently, I think I found a way slowly to gain merits. if I may to give one tip I can give to beginners or people like me, is to discuss on Beginners & Help threads. If we can give a good contribution by answering people needs help or offering great opinion probably people will see our efforts and give us merits. Try to find a thread with low responses and answer it your best, so higher rank people who usually give merits can see it and if they like it, they can give you merits. I'm grateful for the merits and also motivated to contribute better. I can't wait to learn more and be more confident to start to make a useful thread.

It's quite surprising and exciting, especially when you least expect a merit and miraculously it came, to me it gives me more fortitude to forge ahead to doing better and going bigger, if someone can achieve that then I can do better, the only requirement is to obey and follow instructions.
Honestly on my first day to receive merit, i feel like calculating the number of merit I would have gotten within a month and the respective exchanges and I begin to think of the possibility of having a better future on this forum

Congratulations mate, I understand the feeling, I can totally relate, and for me, it's not just the first merit, every merit brings that same level of joy and motivation cus it's an assurance or confirmation that the content created is valued by the one or those who merited it, it motivate one to want to do even more, create even more content that are helpful to every individual that comes across it.

So the thing is that we all should strive to add real value to the forum through the stuffs we post, don't post just to increase post count but post because you have meaningful information to share or meaningful questions to ask, as long as we keep to this rule, the forum will continue to show appreciation through various means which earning merit is one of them.

It's better if by days come you have an improvement to the forum even your contents because this helps you to get more merit at the first step it's too hard because you will get a lot of negative thoughts why the higher rank got merit even a small piece of information. If your contents are more creative and helpful for sure merit will come. Always keep yourself improve I start with the merit system too but I reach this rank because of having a different helpful thread. Good luck with your journey avoid getting involved in off topics.

I will never forget the moment when the first time I received a merit, it gave me an eager feeling to create more and more topic.

A time goes, I went vacuum because of some real life problems, and here I am, went back after several months.

Your current 10 Merits were airdropped (so as to say) when the Merit System kicked-off, so as to preserve the rank at the time the system was introduced. You’ve really yet to "earn" a Merit (i.e. be merited by someone), which is what the thread is on about mostly. You did manage to sent 1 sMerit though to @goku19.

This made me laugh when he/she did mention getting merit. This is quite true that this person did earn merit from airdrop merits and not earning merit through posting or creating a thread which is merit worthy. An old account which didn't even know the implementation of the merit system and just post right away stating that he/she earn merit from other forum users where it didn't happen at all.  Cheesy

You are a gentle person and I am very happy to see your warm words. Learn from you. Grin

If you are referring to me, I am only this warm and gentle when I'm sober.
Tongue

if you want to learn, I have nothing much to offer, but to point you in the right kind of people where you can learn stuff, just look for people wearing a Chipmixer signature coz most of the time if not always, very informational and I also look up to them to learn.

this would suck a lot if I am not the person you're referring to.

I am no exception of the joy and happiness it brings been merited your very first merit on the forum bitcointalk after series of hardwork and due research in the cryptosphere. Because I feel very very much happy right now beyond bounds because it's just like a dream come true finally. And I have no other way to express my happiness but to come share it with you all, because this is indeed the best forum on platform earth anybody can find his or herself, and I am very grateful to be here and promise to contribute massively to the growth of Bitcoin in the best of my ability...

I pledge to Bitcointalk to always create value to it's forum now and always. Amen.🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thanks

Congratulations on your merits. .. I think I can understand your mood. . When I got my first merit, I felt a sense of accomplishment and helped others to be recognized, and then the merit gradually increased. I am very happy and thank those who gave me merit. I will always be active in the forum and do my best to help others.

Congratulations on your first merit. Yep, it can be really euphoric and it may lead you into posting better in hopes of gaining another merit.
Merit is addictive. lol

Come on, no offense but I don't think we can call this hard work.. 32 posts in total out of which 10 are in off-topic, 2 are bounty registrations and the majority of others are quite useless .. There's so much space left for you to grow, merits don't come from bounty registrations or useless posts!

Try to actively participate in the community with some useful stuff if you want merits. Read and learn new stuff about Bitcoin and whenever you see some newbie asking a question you know an answer to, jump in and help. If I were to count all your posts since December, you'd have about 6-7 posts per month.. that's 1, max 2 per week! How do you expect merits to come when you don't even post much at all? Cheesy

Good luck m8, but I really suggest you to spend more time here if you want to receive some merit Tongue

In my opinion, this is not the best way to encourage newcomers, as I think your comment belittles an achievement that he is very proud of. We must educate, not intimidate newcomers.

Merit does not decide your quality or your contributions. Indeed, your contributions and your post quality decide how many merits you will receive.

You're likely not a spammer so please keep up your good works and don't mind much about merit. Merit will find you.

Thanks for these last statements in your reply, they are quite encouraging to a newbie like me who is trying to understand more about the forum. I will just keep my head down and continue being as productive as I can be. Merit will surely find me

Wow..  I am so much happy for you, but thou, there is always a first time for everything, and you just got your first merit, which I am hoping to get mine very soon... Cheers
You will get yours in as much as you do not relent in posting and contributing reasonably to people's post.Another way to get merit is by creating threads that are not common in the forum, bringing up something unique and special to the forum will help you get merits too.
