Yes, the altcoins will definitely recover this year because the fall is only temporary and when there is high demand and the market recover fully from the bear, altcoins will rise again. I will suggest you should not be in haste to sell any of your altcoin but you should rather hold a bit longer till the price recover fully from the bear.

I think you just mismanage your investment and if your do good trading then it should be positive on your side. Anyway, it's done and you can only do is to be patient to wait for the market recovery. It's not the end and don't worry your not alone with that problem. Soon the crypto market will recover and you get your profits for holding your alts.
Crypto market rallies usually start with bitcoin and some other top altcoins. Most altcoins rally big when market becomes really bullish and speculative and we're far from that.
Some altcoins will get better in price but many will just die away. Those that really have a proper service or product over time might get back to previous All-time Highs. I can't see it happening this year. Yeah some coins get pumped then dumped but you need to be a day trader to benefit and probably in some of those telegram signal groups and stuff and hope you catch the odd pump and make a bit of profit, otherwise we need to wait a long time before we see any real improvement in the crypto markets. Unless we see new big-money coming in, it's the same people just going from coin to coin pumping and dumping to earn their daily profits right now.

the altcoin will recover again, you don't have to worry about this. once the altcoin recover, you can take your own profit like before and perhaps, your profit will bigger than before. all you need to do is patient and waiting for the price to go up again and don't sell your coin right now because it is not give a profit and you only lose your money. and if you still have money, you can buy more in any coin because right now, the price is cheap and it reduces too deep so you can buy at the bottom price.

I sympathize with you but then you must understand that recovery is something that comes eventually but then it takes time to achieve it. Altcoins will definitely recover and so it's the question of when but one has to be patient. What's really interesting is that a sign of a strong bear market is every time a coin pumps people are looking to dump ASAP meaning the pump is temporary.
The last few days have been the complete opposite. Huge green candles then it stays steady.
This just hasn't been seen since the last few months of 2017. This causes fomo especially since the prices are relatively cheap from ATH.
