I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Oh Bill absolutely loved everything about that game.  He is as old school as it gets in the modern NFL and he was probably licking his chops when he read the weather report earlier in the day.  The question I find myself asking is, if it weren't for the crazy snowy/windy weather they had, would the Patriots still have won the game? I think it's fair to ask.  Personally I still think the Bills are better, call me crazy.

They've won last 7, most in good weather, some against decent teams (Chargers/Browns/Titans, the latter two being blowouts). Their defense is excellent. I'm not a Patriots fan by any means but I think they are better than Bills at this point in the season. As for weather, that's part of the deal. If you can't play from mid-November (nearly half of the season), you're not a good team IMO.

Yeah you certainly make some very good points. I’m not sure I fully agree but well said. I still think quarterbacks dictate most teams and the Bills QB is far better than the Patriots. I believe they play each other again coming up here in a couple weeks, so this should be a fun rematch! It’s just too bad that the bills don’t have a decent RB. That’s killing them !
The problem with the Bills is the running game on both sides of the ball, they could not stop the run even when they knew the Patriots were going to run all game and it is no like the Patriots have any star RB, and if to this we add they cannot run the ball either then they have problems winning the time of possession, which is a huge disadvantage at the end of the game.

Now the weather was extreme and it benefited the Patriots so the next game should be closer, but that is not their problem right now, the Bills are facing The Bucs this week and if they lose then they will be 7-6 and out of the playoffs with four weeks remaining, so they will have no other option but to win at NE, and the pressure to play well under those circumstances can be enough to reduce their performance just enough for Belichick to pull another win over them.

Honestly I think the Patriots are one of the best teams in football right now (well obviously they are the #1 seed right now) but their defense is unreal.  I laid a bet on Tampa when they played the Pats, and that d help Tom in check dam well knowing Brady wanted to go in there and light it up.  This might be the best d Pats have ever had.  No way they lose  with Brady, question is can they win with mac.

They missed their first FG attempt from extra point range after getting goaline stopped.

You're right, I just edited my post a few seconds ago. Still a good strategy with that two-point play.

Yeah it was pretty cool, I was a little surprised at the time but thats why bill is a great coach I guess.

I think percentage wise he knew he had a better chance to score on the ground then to kick it.  Probably was playing any extra point like that knowing if he hit 1 out of 2 basically would equal hitting both extra points.  That wind was serious.  Even the field goals they hit them things were kick it and cross fingers no big gust came through that second.  Bill is old school so he probably loved that win more than any other one so far this year.

I just figured it was the universe fucking me as folk was my kicker on my team fighting for a playoff spot. Grin

On a football note last night's game was awesome to watch, Pats ran it down their throats with the Bills knowing it and still couldn't stop it, fun times.  Mac Jones 2-3 19 yards and they won lol.

Patriots tricked them with that 2-point conversion. Bills could have won it if they didn't chase TDs, twice - two FGs would have done it. Yeah, I know wind etc but still.

Edit: I'm probably wrong, they did try and miss an FG, and only then turned one drive over on downs. Not so much a trick then, but that early 2-pointer did win the game for Patriots.

I'm so confused I will just set my lineup and see what happens.  *That feeling when Towely knows more what's going on then me*

If there is a vote to be had on this I would vote that only those in the playoffs have a vote. Smiley

There shouldn't be discussions about changing rules/settings this deep into the season, let alone voting, regardless of who makes the playoffs and who does not.

It's two weeks per playoff matchup, you play the same team twice and add the score. Week 14 end of the reg season and a double week per playoffs round is the default setting for all public FF leagues on ESPN.

For future leagues, we can invite more people, expand from 8 to 12 man, add more IR spots, change the schedule/playoffs etc....all this is done before the draft, not mid-December.

I vote for 25 IR spots!

Just as there is a competition for the last playoff spot do not forget about the race to the bottom Hueristic and myself are having, after all no one wants the ‘honor’ of being the worst team of the league, due to the tie breakers I have an advantage over Hueristic due to the points scored and it seems large enough so the Psychotics will need a win and a tie or a loss from the Cows, or the Psychotics could get a tie and with a loss of the Cows they could avoid the last position on the standings, so there is a lot at stake during the final game of the regular season.
Well all I can say is you better win cause I'm taking those Doggies down! Cheesy
That is the spirit.

I had the intention to abstain as well if there was a voting taking place.

I don't think changing the settings one week before the regular season ends is a good idea, plus 9ers won't be resting Deebo, they need every win they can get.  Grin
I guess I'm confused, but whatever it is I'm okay with leaving it alone.
At any rate, I would too suggest to leave the settings as is, it's fine.
And I agree with all of you but as the LM my job is to play Devil's Advocate from time to time, still, next FF season this is something we need to address from the beginning to avoid any confusion among the league participants. Smiley

Does this mean that the playoff rounds last two weekends, collecting points over the whole span?  Do we get to change our lineup for the second weekend?

Wait, what? Now you confused me even  more. Two playoff games each round? I thought two weeks were allotted in case there were wildcard games, for larger leagues.

At any rate, I would suggest to leave the settings as is, it's fine.

Oh, that makes more sense.

Edit:
Oh, I think I see what you're getting at.  If I lose and Taco wins, I'll have to play you in the first round.  If I beat Wheelz this week I'll have to play him again in the first round.  Hmmm, tough call.  Damned if do damned if I don't.  Not that it matters, I never dreamed of winning this league anyway.  Besides, any time you and I match up you seem to have the luck of the gods on your side.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. The other part of it is the playoff schedule, which I'm mildly confused about. It says "week 15-16" and "week 17-18". Do we play the finals in week 17? Some teams might be resting their top players by then. Might not apply to Colts though.
Yes that is the way the league is structured, however taking a look at my LM tools I can see I can change how long each round lasts, and the semifinals could take place on week 15 while the finals take place on week 16, leaving week 17 and 18 unused, if the members of the league want to change this then we need to vote as soon as possible about this as I do not know if I could change this once the playoffs are about to start.

Also guys I just want to say that this is the most fun I've had getting my ass handed to me in as long as I can remember!!!

Great league and great time, I can't wait for next year and look forward to ChiBitCTy joining us.

I don't think I've ever seen a game with so many runs up the gut. Smiley

It's pretty common under the Friday night lights, but certainly not in the modern day NFL.
