I don't know how the ESPN leagues work either.  If we have twelve teams next year, will we automatically have one elimination round in the playoffs?  Does the league allow making changes like that?  Will it allow us to have the final game on week 17?

I was playing around with custom league settings and it seems quite flexible. You can choose the length of the regular season and the number/length of playoff rounds, among many other things. With 12 teams you can have 2 or 3 divisions for example, and set up playoff byes/wildcards accordingly.

I would suggest to keep it simple though and not get too crazy, but if the preference is to not use week 17/18 then we would have to either make playoff matches 1 week long (might be too harsh), or shorten the regular season. For example with 12 teams you can probably make it 11 weeks and play each team once. There are also double-header options but that seems a bit weird (you play two teams at the same time). Maybe it would work on non-bye weeks. We'll have the long and boring off-season to figure this out.

Honestly I don't even know how espn leagues work.  It's a combination of 2 weeks?  If that's the case next year we should change it to not have the last game of the year count for the finals.  A lot of teams who have their seeding solidified in the last week rest their star players so they can heal up and not take a chance to get hurt.  Is it a 2 week average?

And yeah you need like 4 rushing tds from Stafford tonight!

morvillz7z explained it here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.58650233

It's a sum of points for two weeks (15-16) for the semifinal match, and the sum of weeks 17-18 for the final... yeah it's a bit of a gamble with the last two weeks but the way this season is going it's likely that we won't have many clinched teams resting their players. I wouldn't be against changing it next year though.

I've never been in a 2 week average league for playoffs, it's kind of cool and eliminates the chance of "one bad week".  But the last game we definately should avoid.  If a team like kc locks up 1st place by the end of the year you can see mahomes maybe playing a half game, t hill our for the game, Kelly, etc so they get some extra rest.  I'm down for whatever only a suggestion it has definately burned people in some past.leagues I was in.

It confused me earlier in the year as well, which is probably why I thought all 8 of us would make it to the playoffs.  That would have meant one elimination round, not two.

Enjoy getting crushed by Maddogs in the finals Wink

Wheelz is only 16 points behind me, and he's been known to pile on the hurt.  I'm not holding my breath about reaching the final.  But yeah.  Nutildah.

It seems unfair, I demand Nutildah get his ass back here and explain himself.  That's going to be a difficult points spread to overcome.
Nice try, but nutildah seems to be sufficiently pissed at this shithole of a forum and will just quietly beat us up Smiley

Hey now!  All forums are shitholes, but this one is our shithole.

I don't know this is how ff goes.  Lay down some big numbers then come dec/Jan teams change.  This was definately the lowest of the year.  Mcvay ran out Michel a lot in lieu of Henderson which kind of f'd me.  Will be a fun week to see how this all shapes up!  Good luck all..

Better than being permanent banned, been there lol 😩

That was super annoying that the NFL didn’t allow for both games to be played on TV yesterday. I guess there’s some silly rule that a Network can’t benefit from covid type game re-arrangements. Which I don’t know what the greedy NFL would ever care about something like this as they don’t care about much else then money.

I just checked out the Maddogs @ Coiners match.  Every time Stafford throws the ball, earning Coiners some points, it's thrown to Kupp, which earns the Dogs twice as many points.

Yeah even with TDs I get like 5.2 (yards, TD, extra point) and he gets like 6.6 (yards and TD). No chance.

Next week though... Tyreek Hill is on COVID list. I wonder if NFL will move the game. They probably have to, now that they've set the precedent.

In any case, making up 55 points will be nearly impossible. Enjoy getting crushed by Maddogs in the finals Wink

Cowpersons

We need a puke emoji.  Undecided

Damnit, the Lambs just tied this thing up.  I was enjoying watching the Seagulls beat on them a bit, and if the 'Gulls win, it gives the Niners a better chance at the 5th seed, of course they would have to win their remaining games, one of which is at Tennessee and another at the Lambs.

The 5th seed likely means a trip to Dallas, which would be better than a trip to [assumptions]Tampa, Arizona,[/assumptions] or Green Bay.

I was quite mistaken on why the Rams are only -7 versus the Seahawks. It appears that the motivation to troll a rival team from clinching the division is stronger than the motivation of the team fighting to clinch the division itself hehehe. I question humanity.

Yeah my team of course took a nose dive this week.  I need a HUGE game out of Henderson in the rams game.  Talking 2 tds and 100 plus scrimmage yards.  Only good thing is Seattle is awful on run defense hopefully mcvay pounds the ball all game.  Good luck to everyone if you still got some guys going tonight.

I have a good chance to make my humiliating defeat even worse. If Stafford does well, chances are that Jefferson/Kupp will outscore him due to the way yards and touchdowns count for QBs vs WRs. So my best bet is for Stafford to fizzle out but not before he gets into field goal range but no further than 36 yard line, 10 times...

... yeah I'm done.

Maddogs went from not setting their lineup in one week, and almost not making the playoffs to...umm, 150 projected fantasy points against the 1st seed. Cheesy
The Maddogs are without a doubt the dark horse of our FF league, they have scored more than 100 points on 10 of the 15 weeks we have been playing, they are the second best scoring team and yet they lost 7 games, even if we discard the game they lost by not setting their lineup at best they could be 8-6, which means they were just unlucky during the whole regular season.

And about my match with Hueristic, things are not looking good for the Cows, I am losing by 3.5 points and Hueristic still has a RB to play, if the difference grows by more than 10 points my chances of winning go down the drain as there will be no way for me to overcome that handicap.

Now I'm beating myself up for not starting the NO D/ST against the Bucs, lol.

If I'm not mistaken last time Bucs were shut out was in 2012 (also a December game against Saints), and last shutout for Brady was in 2006 (?).

My take away from that is that I should have known it was statistically unlikely for that to continue, and the streak(s) would end tonight.  Thanks, I was just about to ease up on myself.

Pretty strange weekend so far with Cards and the Bucs sucking lemons.  Dallas is sitting as the number 2 seed at the moment...  Could you imagine that?  The NFC Least could take the top seed if the 'Girls keep winning and the Packers drop one.

If Greenbay wins all remaining games and Tampa Bay wins their games on week 16-17 and the Cowpersons and the Cardinals win their games on week 16, then the game on week 17 with the Cowpersons and the Cardinals will decide who will be seed number 2 in NFC. Is this correct, accurate?

@wheelz1200. If it was a fight for the number 2 seed between the Cardinals and the Cowboys what team would you bet? The spread is -3 for the Cowboys.

I would definately take the Cardinals in that game.  Yeah they laid an egg against Detroit that was a blip.  I can see the cards lighting up the cowboys.  Cowboys take a lot of all or nothing chances on d and kyler should load up on them.  That's how I see it but I also hate the cowgirls so I might be biased lol.

Giant fan here but if the cowboys don't end up with the top seed being able to ay the giants, eagles and wft twice a year they should be embarrassed.  That's an easy 6 wins right there.  Cowboys don't look dominant and if they play green Bay, rams, etc they are gonna have issues.  Gonna say it again.  Cowboys will have a great reg season record, maybe win during wild card week but then get beat up by a real team.  Same story every year for the girls

I'm pretty sure that I was telling you that the Cowboys were going to have a pretty decent year but they've been so inconsistent I'm with you, they don't have any legit chance this year to win a super bowl.  I also have to finally admit that Dak is the most overrated quarterback of all time.  He is so wildly inconsistent with his play it's not even funny.  He's amazing one game and below average the next and it seems never ending on that loop.

Bears Giants last game of the season I believe, what are we betting? lol.

Lol at this point with Jake fromm probably gonna be our qb, I will bet a 3 pack of shoelaces on the game even spread 😆
