Who do you guys like for this weekend?

I'm taking:

Jags @ -3.5
Bucs @ -4.5
Packers @ -3

These are all teams that need the W to secure a playoff spot, and they are all playing teams that are out of contention.

The games I'll be watching for fun are Texans vs. Colts and Ravens vs. Dolphins. Both should be tight-scored games.

On the Texans vs. the Colts, both of these teams are still considered in the hunt, correct?

In any case, it also appears that Jonathan Taylor is back 100% healthy from a long injury. He is presently playing a very good game. I am not quite certain how many rushing yards but it is many and he also has 1 touchdown. I speculate that he will be in the top 10 of the draft order for fantasy next season heheheh.

Saw this video on YouTube of The Rock and his team discussing with ESPN their creation of the UFL which .. “The United Football League, a powerful combination of the XFL and USFL, will provide passionate sports fans with an entertaining, innovative and action-packed season” - ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro

@Huerisitc I figured you’d especially appreciate this. I’m actually looking forward to this league and going to give it a legitimate try.

You were 100% against it last year, so what made you change your mind?

I was concerned Fox would try to push the XFL out so I guess this is a decent outcome although I would rather have seen them stay independent.

Funny now that they made it the corporate interests have decided to join them (I'm impressed they were able to read the writing on the wall this quickly) and probably try to wrest control from the inside.

I hope the XFL read that contract they signed because saying you have 50 percent means nothing unless your only in it for the money.

It's the same thing the futures markets do to control securities.

So basically it boils down to fox bought 50% of the xfl for IIRC $150million (what they spent to make and play a season of the usfl).

I'd say they got quite a deal.

I don't have the time nor the inclination to look into it but I wonder how this is going to effect how players from this league and colleges go into the draft if at all.

Specifically I'm wondering if they wrote into the rules that players are screwed like the college kids with capped rookie contracts when getting picked up for the nfl?

Lol man, you know that use to be his xgf ? (I know right).  I wasn't necessarily dead set against any of these other leagues. I've had good buddies play in a few of them and have certainly supported the idea, I've just found them difficult to watch as some of them are just so watered down and stray too far from the game of regular football.  I do love the idea of just 1 of these leagues existing as there's simply not enough talent for a multitude of league to be going on at one time.  If there's only just one, there's going to be some exciting players who end up getting a shot at the NFL, as well as some x-NFL'rs who will finish out their careers in a league like this and that I find fun/cool.

Wow the amount of backups playing this week has to be a record!

Yupp and this is why we cut out the last week of the season ( of course as we all know).  Still looking forward to tomorrows final Sunday of sitting on the couch so long all day watching my favorite thing that I end up farting a hole in to the sofa cushion.

Agreed, there is no other development leagues for the NFL so players depend on practice squad which really isn't game ready.  I'm all for the leagues but just can't stand watching them.  I try I just cant.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
Hehe we can be quite certain the Ravens will be playing all of their backups. The odds for them is 2.45 vs the Steelers' 1.58 hehehe. However, I have a very strange feeling the backups of Baltimore will be hungry enough to win the game.
I have not took the time to read what is the posture of John Harbaugh, but this is a dilemma, if none of the starters plays today it means the hottest team on the NFL will spend three weeks without playing any football, and over the years we have seen many times teams getting hindered by that lost rhythm.

I know that post was most likely made by a person managing the social media accounts of Murray, but you have to be blind to think that is Fitzgerald.

In any case, it also appears that the speculation on who would win the game between the Ravens and the 49ers would decide the winner of regular season MVP contested by Purdy and Lamar is correct. Lamar appears to have it according to the sportsbooks. The odds for Lamar is presently 1.01, this was 5.00 before their game. I mentioned this, however, I did not bet it hehehehe.

Congrats to New England Potatoes for taking down the league this year.  Had a monster of a team! Also congrats to Hueristic, pretty impressive making it to the Championship game two years in a row.

It really is a solid league and I appreciate being a part of it!

snip
Congrats, you deserve the championship, your team has been too dominant all season and you pulled an amazing performance on the final.

Congratulations are also in order for Hueristic, he made the final after winning the championship last season, so his performance over those two seasons has been outstanding as well.

By the way, did you watched the college football semifinals yesterday? Despite the controversy around FSU the games were really good, while it seems the committee was right all along as FSU got blew away by Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

Yeah I watched both games.  You couldn't have asked for a much better playoff series between those two games.  I started a thread here in gambling if you'd like to join in.  Planning to put some satoshis down on Michigan I do belive - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5479813.new#new

Congratulations to the winners New England Potatoes, the Barbarians and the Mooncoiners! I cannot wait for next season's draft. The draft is always my favorite part of this league hehehe.

Another exciting part of the NFL before the regular season are the draft picks. The Bears get no.1 pick.

Drafting 12 tight ends so none of you can field a decent TE!  New angle.

Haha, good one, One year I took Kittle and Kelce with just that thought! Smiley

Congrats on the win.  That final was one of the biggest wins I've ever seen in a final.  Your squad was dominant lol.  Can't wait until next year we still running this league back next year right?  I like 12 teams vs 10 team it makes it much more difficult to keep a solid squad together.  I'm in if we are.

I'd much rather lose by 100 than by .1 and the way my team fell apart the last few weeks its not even remotely a surprise to me.

*would have been fun to have a close one but I just couldn't field a team.

Agreed nothing worse than a heartbreaking finals loss.  Injuries definitely stacked up this year on the top picks.  Mortz's squad was a monster by the end of the year.  I've been at or near the bottom of the league it seems every year  so I need next year to be my revenge tour.  Drafting 12 tight ends so none of you can field a decent TE!  New angle.

Thanks man!

That means alot to me, this league is full of Great players, I can't stress how much enjoyment I have been getting playing against such a top notch field!

I have not seen a league anywhere with a higher caliber of players than this league, and I'm being completely honest with zero hyperbole here.

Congrats Mo!

Your team ruled all year and I thought you put up the highest score ever (190.34) in the final but it was a point shy (191.52 - week 3 seek3r).

I'd have more to say but I'm wallowing in a hang over. Smiley

Congrats to morvillz7z for taking the Championship!  Well earned and highly deserved.
Also congrats to Hueristic for a great season.

The two of you were well placed in the championship game, great job to both of you.  Send me your addresses, and I'll send you the winnings.  I know it's not quite official yet, but it looks official enough to me.

Thanks!

It was a fantasy season to remember, winning the ship for the first time as well, special feeling.

I was on the verge of winning another league but came short, a few injuries the week before was too much to overcome. Overall out of the three leagues i was in, i've got 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in three different formats with three largely different teams. Solid year!

At least now i can go back to enjoying the games and not having to stress about which kicker i'm going to stream. Lol

Good season everyone, it was a pleasure playing with you all.  Smiley
