I managed to get my 2x R9 280x vapor x working @ 375kh/s each

here are my settings:

setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum12.dogehouse.org:9091 -u x -p x -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1076,1072 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 ---temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-target 75 --auto-fan

,
"intensity" : "13",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"auto-fan" : true,
"gpu-fan" : "70-80,70-80",
"gpu-engine" : "1076,1072",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "10,10",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"expiry" : "30",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"scan-time" : "5"

Temperatures are 59 for first and 70 degrees for the second one.

Any recomandations for some risers? I can't seem to make up my mind on what I see online.

Can share 3 more info?

1. Pool Difficulty for the Worker
2. Reject, Hardware Error, Working Unit
3. Miner version cgminer? verminer?

I notice my hashrate remains over 440kH for R290 but WU fluctuate depending on the pool difficulty for worker.  When difficulty is below 32, WU is very close to 400.  When the difficulty going up to 64,128 or even 256, the W.U. drop drastically to less than 380kH/s.

If you have 2 GPU most likely I guess your difficulty will be maximum at 256 or more and WU propably only 70% of 375x2 = 525kH/s if you are using traditional pool.

Trying to get some help.  Followed the linux install guide on the main forum exactly (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/vertcoin-first-scrypt-n-first-stealth-address-privacy-without-mixer-404364). The miner is running but I can't see any GPU stats. Any suggestions?

using 270s and can only get 5-10 in WU

"intensity" : "12",
"thread-concurrency" : "4448",
"worksize" : "256",

any reason why?

Try dropping your engine and increasing your memclock.

I use the following:
engine 950
memclock 1400
threads 1
tc 14144
intensity 20

That gets me 205kh/s on 1100mV 270s. Average of 1436kh/s and WU ~1336/m.

1.ASUS 280x 245 Kh/s
2.XFX 270x 165 Kh/s

with the following config

setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

Look 1 post above yours and test those 270x settings.

how about the 280x its only running at 245..shouldnt it be running at 300?

Anyone have a good config for Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290x ?

Latest vertminer from GitHub seems to crash with other 290x configs mentioned in this thread. System has 16 GB RAM (stock frequencies) and I have tried 2-3 different AMD drivers including

14.1 Beta
13.11 Beta 9.95 (Doesn't even recognize the cards)
13.12 Stable

Hey fellow vtc miners.

recently I updated my vertminer from 0.5.2 to 0.5.3. I basically deleted the 0.5.2, git cloned the 0.5.3, build it, and put the header files in AMD-ADL.
in 0.5.2 I could get 360Kh/s with my Sapphire dual-x r9 280x. Now it's only 230 with the exact same settings..

My settings:
./vertminer  -o stratum+tcp://stratum.vtcpool.co.uk:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxx -v 1 -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 8193

Anyone knows how to solve this? Smiley

I mined away happily for 24 hours yesterday on my 6x R9 280x rig with TC@8192, core@1030, mem@1500, -g2, lookup gap 2... giving 370Kh/s per card. 5 HW Errors after 24 hours was acceptable. But this morning I woke up to a DEAD card, and I couldn't even restart the miner, it would just hang.
I'd lower the mem clock to 1450 and see if it stops dying, then work on optimizing the other factors from there. Some cards are just not as strong. I have one that doesn't quite get to 1500.
It's an ASUS DC2T-3GD5, it's mem is clocked by default at 1600... I'm already underclocking it by 100!

Oh, I didn't realize that! Well, I've heard of a flaky PCI-e slot causing this problem, so you might want to swap two cards.

Hey guys,

  Trying to get going with vertcoin and am having some issues.  I am using SMOS and I used the posted method for installing vertminer.  I have 3 r9 290 and no matter which settings for TC and I are used I get nothing but hardware errors.  Can someone take a look at my conf file and tell me where the problem might be?

ok I removed "scrypt": true and no I get no hardware errors but I am not getting any accepted, just share above target over and over again.

also it is reporting my hashrate like this:

give me your exact settings are plug it straight in. and ill screenshot what im getting

Edit:
Okay found your settings
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
COLOR 0A

C:\vertminer\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://vtc.kilovolt.co.uk:3333 -u Username -p Password-w 256 -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-powertune -20 --gpu-memclock 1490 --thread-concurrency 8193

ive tried it already but ill try again and screenshot it

I might add, i've got the MSI R9x 280x gamer 3gb. Seems to be giving the most kh/s from the 280x series so you might see a little difference

Can you share your settings for the MSI R9 280X gamer 3GB, I am having the same card and is not getting more than 220 KH/s. (Ill be happy to tip you if your config works for me)

Edit:
I moved the intensity to 19 and it gives a stable hash of 423. At 20, it still works but pc starts to lag and I can't do anything else

Updated:

With Sapphire R9 290x BF ed, I'm using the below to get stable 436 KH with zero hardware error. Any other setting and tons of HW errors start coming in. I think the thread concurrency did it for me. Has to be 2816*8 for this card. Don't ask me why (though I'm a computer engineer; just not very upto speed with AMD chipset). Also I run the fan at fixed speed of 75% from Trixx to keep temperature below 75C.
