It's great to see whole families getting into Bitcoin and even better to see the younger generation showing interest in this technology. I think the new

generation needs faster money to keep up with the speed of the internet and Bitcoin might just be the answer to this. Bitcoin also opens up

more opportunities for them to show innovation and entrepreneurship.  Wink

OP said he and his family have lived off the bitcoin economy for two years but he didn't explain how. Does he do graphic art for bitcoins or is he into trading?

Pretty interesting article. I like your kid's idea of giving out bitcoin instead of candy for Halloween, lol. That would be awesome. From the sound of it, your kids know a lot more about bitcoin than many. I'm pretty sure when I was 7 years old, all I cared about was watching cartoons and riding my bike.

Why is is that when I think of me and my family talking about it sounds awkward to me. Maybe it is because I cant really share it yet I dont know if they will really agree. Well thenm thumbs up to you.

I don't think there is anything wrong in telling your family, in fact when I told my family they were very much excited that I am using this innovative currency and also earning it when no one else is aware about it yet.

This is a very interesting story. I would love to have tried this when bitcoin had barely started. I think in the future there will be more families willing to completely convert to bitcoin and feel safe in doing so. We are living in a world that is advancing so much it is amazing!

A year ago today, my family was featured in a Motherboard Vice article called “Meet the ‘Bitcoin Family.’” Since that time, my two sons have learned a whole lot more about Bitcoin and are fascinated by their father’s work as a cryptocurrency journalist.

Learning About The Tools of Liberty at a Very Young Age

My son Joshua is now seven, and Franklin is three, and we often discuss the Bitcoin industry that surrounds my life. As a journalist and graphic artist, our family has lived off the Bitcoin economy for close to two years now.

Your two sons are three and seven years old and they know about bitcoin?

I don`t believe that.

How often do you discuss bitcoin with them?
why you wouldnt believe in it? it is just ordinary money why they cannot know about it then? it is also really easy to use

Well, that is an interesting story while you're making grow a BTCitcoin surely these steps would be helpful for them, this would be encouraging for other parents to tell about this innovation to their children by using different methods which will make their children to learn more about BTCitcoin.

This is a nice and touchy story, although I think you may want to remove pictures of your little ones from internet.
You probably is hard core Bitcoin lovers, and so are your children.
Keep up the good work.

This is novel, but it sort of reminds me of  that guy who tried living solely from things he ordered off the internet, not leaving his house for a year, or the other person who webcammed every room in his house...novel, but really proves little.

Well it proves that it can be done, to me this proves that early economic education it is possible and in fact should be encouraged. As an example in my whole life I did not receive any kind of economic education I needed to find the answers by myself, so when I have kids I will make sure to teach them from an early age how the system works and the pitfalls they should avoid.

I'm glad to see that there are younger people getting interested with Bitcoin and it isn't all just a 20+ club, although it can seem like that some times. I'm glad to see everything is going so well, and I hope everything continues to go well for you. Keep it up and never stop teaching your kids!

haha. I think his sons are the younger ones who know about bitcoin. the thing is, do they already know how to earn bitcoin? or you just discuss about it with them?

it's okay. introducing them about bitcoin is also good.

Interesting how one whole family is earning bitcoins and live from them. Like most of people here I agree that youngsters and new generations are the key forbbitcoin success. They are much more involved in internet then old people.
I didn't saw in article how much they earned in one year, enough for make a living with that money apparently. I don't have kids yet, but one day I will follow this man steps, and probably I will teach them about all this in young age. My girlfriend is already earning coins and trade a bit, I made a first step.

Good, let's just hope that in the future Bitcoin is used by every single person on earth. Right now, old people will never understand bitcoin and they are far from ever using it. The transition will take at least 20 years. By then 1 Bitcoin should be around 500k per coin since 5% of assets will have moved there. Young people holding BTC today will be rich as fuck.

If young people turn to bitcoin now in less than five years we are going to see fireworks. They are the key for mass adoption. I don't spend anymore time explaining how bitcoin works to people older than 40. They will be forced to adapt one day. But our youngsters need to know sooner than later what a great thing bitcoin is.

I am very happy for your kids
