We are in the information age now so teaching children bitcoin at an early age is good so that they can be aware of the new technology. Being aware of what their father does for a living makes them think of how hard or simple they can earn money or bitcoin. I think they are more informed than me regarding crypto currencies and I'm happy to know that there is someone earning bitcoin for a living as his main bread and butter and not just a sideline.

I read the whole article. For me it was nice that your children are learning those things with your guidance. Honestly, I think they have more knowledge than me with those bitcoin wallets like Trezor. It is a good thing that there is someone who can guide them and prepare them for their future and give them an idea on how the future of technology might be especially how cryptocurrency works. But of course, I do hope that your children are still enjoying their childhood and not just focusing on technologies. They are still young and they deserve to enjoy life, to be happy, to play, just like other kids out there.  Grin

This is novel, but it sort of reminds me of  that guy who tried living solely from things he ordered off the internet, not leaving his house for a year, or the other person who webcammed every room in his house...novel, but really proves little.

A year ago today, my family was featured in a Motherboard Vice article called “Meet the ‘Bitcoin Family.’” Since that time, my two sons have learned a whole lot more about Bitcoin and are fascinated by their father’s work as a cryptocurrency journalist.

Learning About The Tools of Liberty at a Very Young Age

My son Joshua is now seven, and Franklin is three, and we often discuss the Bitcoin industry that surrounds my life. As a journalist and graphic artist, our family has lived off the Bitcoin economy for close to two years now.

You make a discussion about a Bitcoin industry with a seven and three years old boy? Are you sure about that?
Can they understand what you're talking about? Because you said that you introduced Bitcoin to them a year ago, which means when Joshua was seven and Franklin was two.

hahaha. you nailed it! i think kids don't understand bitcoin and they will never interested on it because playing and have fun is their main goal. I think the site is
just using a hyperbolic word to attract people. And i don't care about teaching bitcoin on kid because it is nonsense. Bitcoin family is not an ideal family. It will makes greediness
to the family because of teaching money at young age.

I like what is written on the picture "Currency for next generations". Many of my friends have kids, and with 2 years they know how to open youtube, and to watch there what they wish. Little older kids knows better about android phones then me, I think next generations will know much more about internet and they will use internet much more. Bitcoin will be perfect for them, they will find a way to get to things much faster.
Very nice story, probably this couple thins about future much more then other parents. I think this is good and probably soon there will be more examples like this one.

I think the most important lesson to learn from the Bitcoin family is not about Bitcoin itself. It is about showing that self-initiative and entrepreneurship is rewarded. That is a useful learning experience for the children that can have a very positive impact on their lives.

On the negative side I'm not endorsing sharing one's family life and especially that of one's children with the public. The children are not yet ready to fully understand the implications of being part of a journalism project and might regret that in their adulthood. If Bitcoin greatly increases in value, it comes with a significant security threat as well.

It's good to see very young people joining the bitcoin world and I hope those guys will open and create something useful for the new generation which I think would be perfect if bitcoin will be integrated in the games that kids plays so they can learn and earn and spend bitcoin like the game coins inside.

I'm glad to see that there are younger people getting interested with Bitcoin and it isn't all just a 20+ club, although it can seem like that some times. I'm glad to see everything is going so well, and I hope everything continues to go well for you. Keep it up and never stop teaching your kids!

Perfect! Teaching the next generation about bitcoin is like teaching them about saving your change when we were growing up. It's going to be the new normal in our households.
