Ebay can never directly accept Bitcoin because of their buyer protections and insurance policy. They should instead allow you to buy paypal reload cards for bitcoin or something.

I'm sorry, but this is simply wrong. Bitcoin will work within paypal exactly (EXACTLY) like other currencies work. USD for example. Once USD funds are taken out of your paypal account, there is nothing paypal can do to take those funds back. PERIOD. They can reduce your balance if left on paypal, they could charge one of your credit cards, or maybe withdrawal from your checking account that you've previously authorized. If I pull CASH out of my paypal account (easy, can do it at any ATM), they can not get it back in any way that would not also be applicable to bitcoin. NOTHING CHANGES FOR PAYPAL! The only reason they have not implemented bitcoin, is because with bitcoin it is possible to circumvent paypal, and bitcoin is still relatively unheard of. Once people know about bitcoin, paypal WILL BE FORCED to implement bitcoin, for fear of losing market share. They will provide a mainstream escrow/mediation service (buyer and seller protection) that bitcoin absolutely must have. Paypal will become one of the biggest players in bitcoin, but paypal doesn't care about bitcoin. it will be done out of necessity. They won't do it before it will hurt them not to.

Agreed. On top of the threats of frequent account freezes, they will charge very hefty fees also (both for transactions and for currency conversions). The only plus point is that the less tech savvy people will be able to buy Bitcoins easily.
I would settle for ebay allowing me to offer (and accept) bitcoin as payment.

They can still make money on fees, but people won't use it if it's extortionate as it'll probably defeat the purpose of using Bitcoin.

probably his move will be integrating bitcoin into paypal.
That is definitely not the case. Just a few weeks ago, Paypal was banning its users and freezing their funds for trading in Bitcoins. Such hostile attitude means that Paypal remains scared of Bitcoin.
Money does not follow business. Business follows the money. They wont do a single thing to promote bitcoin. So they'll do everything to dodge it and run on FIAT. The moment they see Bitcoin is infiltrating the public en masse, they'll jump on the bandwagon. Why ? Money is there.
p.s. Even PayPal does not like the forex charges
