I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a PCB or a piece of modern art...

Just a quick batch 2 update.
I had the telecon with ChipGeek and the assembly house. There were some serious issues with the new batch of PCBs that arrived, serious enough that we weren't able to start the SMT line today. A picture is worth a thousand words, so

The boards will be back at the board fab first thing tomorrow for a one day turn, and will be back at the assembly house Thursday to start up. It's an unfortunate delay, and I really apologize for it.

Had my first hang up last  night... woke this AM to 200GH/s 24C temp and no shares to the pool.

Only full power cycle fixed this. Was this addressed in the firmware that was linked a few pages back?

Had the same issue installed the new firmware and it hasn't happened since. Not sure if it means it's fixed.

any updates on the second batch?

+1?
The assembly house has started our run, with kitting today. I have a teleconference with them tomorrow, they have some concerns about the latest batch of PCBs that came from the PCB fab so I need more information on what is going on there.

What's "kitting"?

well today i added a h60 to the chili and its the same as the last heatsink i had on it the temp sticks around 70c and only will go to 21GH
i can touch the board and it is cool to the touch.

I updated the board to the newest firmware and in the start of bfgminer the temps shoot up to 100c then back to 70c then to 90c and then 70c again and levels out at 70 to 72 again it will only push 21GH.

With the Cooler Master Evo 212 (see my pics on previous pages) I get between 32GH/s and 35GH/s. But there's a trick! One of my colleagues found out that if you plug additionally a small case fan and point it to the power supply of the board (near the inductors) you get between 35 and 39GH/s don't ask me why but it works!

yes i can see this part of the board is burning like crazy i will see what i can do

Just a quick note that I'm still using the modified BFGMiner someone posted, since 3.4.0 doesn't work at all with my miners. It scans in the devices but doesn't get to the actual screen where miners start happily hashing away.

the back plate on the h60 does not inter fear with the bottom of the board that much at all.
I can test it with out a back plate but i do not think it will change

Hello MrTeal,

    ....
  • Z-Link Chaining Connections
    ....

How is this feature coming along?
...
It's a low priority firmware upgrade, since it's really only useful for a few users (most of whom already have their units set up). We will continue to work on it, but it will likely be a little while before it gets implemented.

Thats extremely unfortunate .... meaning I have to buy USB hubs and hope they all work on one box Sad
Why offer such a feature when you don't implement it ... I guess it was very clear from the beginning that only a few users need that .. but they REALY NEED IT!!!

Where did you find them for $10? Everywhere I have looked they are $50 or more?
Direct from the manufacturer.

Would it be acceptable to use one of these or must you use two like you posted?
Using one would be acceptable.

And if you are not US:)

EDIT: I need a proxy service Smiley
I'm not sure about Europe, but I actually ordered another 20 of them (and their last of the Kuhler Flow's) and shipping to me in Canada was only $40. Very reasonable.
