I think that was entirely it. Elon Musk already knows his chances but aside from that, he was just baiting Mark into a fight without him knowing that Elon was just really not interested in a physical fight which gave Mark a thought that he need to prepare and acquire some experience beforehand. That alone was already successful in Elon's perspective because he trolled his competitor into something that is not really real.

Elon has an advantage and it's his weight and height. Overall, only experience means nothing if you have to fight a huge guy. Then there are a few exceptions like Mike Tyson, the height and the weight of the guy doesn't matter for Prime Tyson, he would beat anyone in his prime and has beaten too.
Besides experience and weight/height advantage, their mental state plays a huge role too. You have probably seen a videos where cat threatens big black bears, even lions and tigers. Yeah, mental state means a lot. In order to be the best fighter, you have to be bloodlusted in the arena and not a kind nice guy.
We don't know their mental state but one thing for sure is that both of them are very weird and when I remember how Elon was dancing, it becomes hard for me to imagine how he will fight but would say the same about Mark if I haven't really seen his Jiu-Jitsu match.

I thought there were news about this fight taking place when I saw this thread but it seems this was not the case, I think just as you that this was just a way for both at them to promote their companies at no cost for themselves, and they did a good job as even if there have been no news about it and it seems this fight is never taking place we are still talking about, as if we are honest who would not like to see both of those fight? As it does not matter who losses, at least one will, and since neither of those characters is well liked on the forum then we win regardless of the outcome of the fight.

I don't think this will ever happen where these two will actually fight because there is nothing important to gain from this fight other than the media who will get the coverage, and also the organizers who will benefit from ticket sales if the fight takes place in the arena.
I don't understand where the news started that they will fight because the result will not change that both of them are successful entrepreneurs in their respective fields, and the two cannot be compared. However, if this really happens, Elon Musk might have an advantage because of his body posture, but Mark, who is smaller, is still possible to win the fight because of his ingenuity, who knows because he realizes that it is impossible to win physically, he uses strategy to knock down the opponent.

I wouldn't underestimate Mark Zuckerberg. He looks fit, and reportedly he is having a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. However, in both boxing and MMA, physique of the competitor matters a lot. That is why there are separate weight-classes. Athlete from one weight class is only allowed to fight against those who are in the same weight class. In case of Zucker and Elon, the difference is too huge. Elon is almost half a foot taller than Zucker, and also he is much heavier compared to him. That would give an undue advantage for Elon, in any type of fight against Zuckerberg.

Yeah! it's just when they talk about something people always listen to them due to their popularity and even when they say something about going to fight against each other inside the cage, people get hyped as if that will come true. anyway, we all know that these kinds of schemes are just for advertisement and both parties took advantage of it since they suddenly became the topic on the internet and people became hyped just to see some progress about the fight and both of them also posted pictures about their training with different popular fighters as well.

@carlfebz2 there was never a fight planned both equally hyped it for their self promotion and now that this topic is losing steam both are trying to exit from this topic. Furthermore I had suggested it before and I will suggest it again why not do what Trump and Vince did year’s back i.e. pick a wrestler and let them compete on their behalf but I doubt that they’ll even do that because their job of hyping this fight has succeeded and now they’ll launch something new and then soon we’ll forget this topic.

What do you mean? Zuckerberg has already competed in a jiu-jitsu competition and keeps on fighting and practicing it. Being a "real" fighter doesn't mean you need to be blakbelt+ pro, but to take this sport seriously. Practice it and have respect for it enough to understand, that showing up someone's backdoor wanting to fight because you want to show off, is far from respecting the the sport or people teaching it.

Being humble is a big part of learning it.

There is a slight chance that these two will put up some sort of a fun fight. But I am 99% sure that the fight will take place in virtual space. Already Elon Musk has scored a victory, as his Twitter had demolished Threads in the competition over micro-blogging domain. But the threat from injury will always be there even if it is a fun-fight. And Elon wants a cage-fight and not a ring-fight. This increases the risk of injury. Elon's weakness is his age, while Mark's weakness is his height and mass. Both of them seems to maintain satisfactory levels of fitness though.

The way I see it, both of them wanted to stay in media light for sometime, and Elon started the process by challenging Mark. The latter accepted it, to keep the hype going. These two are some of the richest people in the world. And more importantly they are self-made billionaires and young. Do you really believe that they are that stupid to indulge in a physical fight? Both of them got their 30 seconds of fame from the media, and their own social media platforms got a boost as a result. But now, the time has come to move on.

Zuck already dropped the idea and is looking to focus on his next fight with 'real' fighters based on his new post in Threads. He's already not interested since he knows that Elon is just bluffing, and he already offered tons of things to set the fight up and still, nothing is happening. I guess Mark no longer wants to be involved in this cheap marketing gimmick that Elon Musk is trying to do for himself.
