The future of paper money is increasingly difficult, as we know that today many countries try to use digital money to reduce cash transactions that are usually with paper money.

Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

I think the future of the paper money is not abolished.. Because not all country's are rich. There are many country's also who has many poor population.but maybe in the other rich country  the future of the paper money will be no longer to exist.

most people prefer to use credit and debit cards to shop around. you can already see signs of this at other currency's like the euro its getting a lot more used these days online.  I don't know how much gold will cost in dollar terms in 10 years (and no one knows), so it may happen that it will cost even less than it does now. But it is ultimately irrelevant since your reasoning still doesn't allow to distinguish in any meaningful way the paper money backed up by the merchants,

the future of paper money in my opinion can survive because everyone still needs paper money almost all the world still use paper money so than that there will be no one can replace the paper money

Digital currencies are efficient and very attractive to a lot of people who are seeking freedom in terms of their money and transaction but we all know that this currencies cannot be approved by the government to replace the usual fiat or currency we are using since it will be greatly affecting one's country isince digital currencies are so volatile and not stable.
I don’t know whether in next 5 years, 10 years or  in the future, we must change paper money into another, it will be too difficult to change. Because all of us use fiat and it is the most popular and easiest way to buy something or pay for your expenses  for in the daily life. For example, if someday in the future, we must use digital currencies, oh it’s so crazy because we all know that there also have many people don’t know anything or knowledge relating to crypto currencies, so it’s so difficult to change paper money into another. It will not happen.

As of the current trend. Paperless currency is really being practice. Cryptocurrency is something that will play a big role in the society. It is for sure going to be another avenue for people to utilized.
many possibilities of paper currency will follow the bitcoin in the future so there is no precise in predicting just waiting for what will happen.

I am sure that the future of paper money will continue to survive, this is because paper money is the identity of a country so that the state will continue to maintain and protect paper money.

I don't feel that sovereignty is reason enough for paper money to survive, there can be a digital currency that is branded in some way to promote sovereignty. Also I feel anyway as if that is a dying trend and many people of the younger generation do not really hold so much pride in their own country and are much more likely to identify as humans of the planet earth than english or american or indian etc.
it is very clear that this is an absurd excuse. I see that the paper money is happening because there are still many people who do not know the internet world. it is very difficult to be able to manipulate people like them to start thinking and have enough courage to use digital money. this is the reason why paper money can last long

I don't think it is absurd to think that people identify with their own country and their own currency, in fact it is one of the reasons most often sited when talks of a common currency occur, I just disagree with him in that it's enough reason for paper money to survive. Your reasons are more valid but they still lead to paper money being extinct in the longer term.

The future of paper money is increasingly unpredictable and perhaps the presence of digital money will make paper money disappear, this is because the demands and challenges of the times are always changing.
the development of the times did change, with it also changing technology. the longer the paper money that each country has, the longer it gets thinner. because today many use the card as a substitute for the money we carry everyday. so the longer the paper money, it is likely to be lost.

I think the future of paper money will still exist because paper money is money that is popular around the world, and paper money is used by all people in this world, in contrast to digital money, digital money is not used by all people, only people who understand about the digital money that can use it. so the possibility of paper money will still be used.
I think paper money will come out in the next century, because it is a system used for 500 years. The banknote system is quite old and useless. Counterfeiters create counterfeit money, causing serious damage to the country's economy. There are too many people shopping with credit cards.

a lot of countries are trying to get rid of cash, even before cryptos, but it's really a bad thing, it only supports the banks' power over us

I don't want it to happen, don't want everything digitalized. But i think it's just a matter of time until we can only see paper money in museums.
It is kinda sad to be honest, but hey, "we are advancing" right ? Wrong, we are destroying, but it's just in our minds we are going somewhere better
Everything has his own value and respect on its place and paper money have also respect because when there was no concept of crypto in market so everyone they were using bitcoin because they think that there is no other option accept paper money but hen when crypto arrived to market so a lot of people they start coming toward them and now bitcoin is here and not only people but countries are trying to join bitcoin.

It will probably not as there are lot of chances for the government to switch into digital currency as well. Well actually the one they made and control , even as of now we are in cashless world where you pay most of your bill with debit and credit card. So the possibility for that to happen is quite slim but it probably will depending how things progress

Paper money will not disappear because many people still use it. Take a look in not rich countries they are using paper money a lot. I think that paper money will not disappear in these next 50 years.

If the whole world and the countries got richer and the people also then maybe the paper money would go away.

Paper money isn’t subject to certain transaction costs and is more difficult to tax. Even today you can find places in downtown Manhattan that are cash only. I would argue that the cost of safely storing paper money outweighes the cost of transacting in other forms of currency for most of us though.
