It's not wise or even more so, strategical to ban the use of paper money to make way for digital or virtual currencies. At the very least notnnow. Even though we are at the moment using electronic currencies to transact, we cannot hide the fact that we still are needing paper money. Give people some time, don't rush things. We will come to it eventually so let's just stay prepared.

Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

Over the years, we have progressed from a cash-only to a hybrid-based system, transacting in both cash and some form of electronic payment. Today, an increasing proportion of payments are made electronically and the current technological revolution playing out in the payments space is only increasing our ability to live without cash on a day to day basis.
So, are we likely to see the end of paper money anytime soon?  No; not for the foreseeable future.
Apart from the necessary and significant investment in systems infrastructure, before even considering such an extreme policy, the political complexity of getting such a system set-up is overwhelming. If we consider the global monetary system, a cashless society would likely require international agreement and likely some regulatory authority to manage the global system.  In a world where political compromise is increasingly rare, and where the vast majority of transactions in emerging markets are conducted via cash, it seems unlikely an international accord will be struck any time soon.

bitcoin might become popular and many people using bitcoin. but it will not make the peper money to be disappearing. paper money is always welcome This is not ancient fashion. but paper money has existed since time immemorial.

Paper money will never be eliminated because it's very useful and there is no risk when you are using it unlike
bitcoin where value is so volatile and anyone can lose money if he does not understand it's nature, crypto is quite difficult to comprehend for
people who does not really need to use it, there are digital money which is more safer, they can use it if they are satisfied with the centralized system.

sure paper money wont be eliminated as it is the original currency that people get used to.  bitcoin is just a digital currency and can only be used mainly for online purpose.  Both currencies have advantage and disadvantage , but overall , paper money is still the future currency that we will be using forever, no matter what happens.  bitcoin is just an alternative currency just like on credit cards and debit cards, theyv been only used in order to buy stuffs online.
Paper money will still exist and it will only get some improvements and maybe it might get into bitcoin so there will be collaboration between bitcoin and also paper money and we don't need to eliminate the paper money because they are useful in everyday life and also the easiest way in terms of mode of payment for small trades or exchanges.
There will never be a collaboration between bitcoin and paper money. You need to know that paper money is controlled by the government and they never like bitcoin or anything that decentralized. They prefer to control everything that they can. Citizens in their country need to follow the rules and laws and bitcoin can not survive in a specific country

Many countries are currently developing digital money and continues to reduce paper money, maybe one day we will never bring paper money because it has been replaced with digital money.

I just read that in my country increase a number of people who pay with card instead of cash. Our famous business newspaper predict that in 2021 we won't use paper money. So probably there will be replacement for today paper money.. But which coin will replace it ? That's the real question.

The future of paper money depends on the future of the man kind
It depends on the way we evolve
It began with gold and silver trading then we made paper money
Then something else came in which is criptocurrency
Transactions must be fast and simple, and paper money meets that, I'm sure that any paper money will be maintained by all countries, until at any time paper money will not disappear.

In my own opinion, paper money will be still necessary even in the future because there are people in the community who cannot really manage to earn cryptocurrency, another thing is that, banks will also complain because their business will die if they did not do anything to compete on the growth of cryptocurrency.

I guarranted that paper money will not entirely be banned. why? because there are economic sectors were using fiat money as a payment method for long last and it causes that can be replaced into cashlees money.
paper money still used because every countries have the regulations that control its circulation. money expertise has forecast about paper money exsitence will be considering in the future . how long it will happens ? I think when the cashless society bigger and dominate. it will have huge affect into method payment also

All we have to think about is a lot of people with different educational backgrounds, and not everyone likes and knows to use the internet, if one day the use of digital money is bigger then I'm sure this will never reduce or make paper money disappear.

I'm sure that paper money will definitely be replaced by something more sophisticated new. maybe it's a kind of digital currency but I do not think the government will then adopt cryptocurrency to be their currency, while cryptocurrency is decentralized and can not be controlled?

Paper money can never be replaced by any cryptocurrency. Because it is  digital and very hard or impossible to track for it is originally designed to evade government entities. It is untraceable and highly-encrypted. The government itself is not that foolish to replace paper money with cryptocurrency when in fact they have no control and nothing to do with it.

Paper money will still remain in the future and cryptocurrency will be the alternative to use for paying electronic payments and transactions.

Yes the well ahead paper maintenance seems to be at a dark phase, although the plastic share has taken some part of it but taking into account the increasing trend of the cryptocurrency the paper maintenance will lose it's puff, the paper portion is stated forward to a selected low level of use in the gone one or two decades. As we can vent people  pick checking account card and debit card more than cash now a days.

I think the world is moving towards a lot of development. After a few seconds the paper money will not be there. The way the currency is used to decrease.
