I believe this question could be answered by Google but you decided to ask it here to get wide deliberation on why Satoshi decided to stay anonymous hence you have a lot answers that could really matter. But I will have to contribute my little idea of why he remains anonymous til date and perhaps all the answers here are mere speculations on what could be the reason since non of us here is Satoshi we can not get the exact reason why he did so except Satoshi himself will be the only one to have correct answer to that.

But from my own understanding, Satoshi is a big fan of freedom and for him to practice true freedom he must first remain anonymous to everyone. He would have also love to claim or revile his identity but the world is a wicked and dangerous place that one can be jailed for helping the world come out of the control system of governments, so he decided that instead of him to get into trouble for helping humanity he will rather stay unknown which he did.

To you OP A simple answer that you could have given to your friend is, Satoshi remain anonymous because he wants to be safe. Alot of agencies that work for the government would really want to detain him for sometime but he was smart enough to do his will without those stresses of questioning.

He came up with this question 'why is the identity of the bitcoin founder (Satoshi Nakamoto) remained unknown'?,  i will be very glad if any of the high ranked members can provide us with the answer so we can add it to our knowledge too. thanks.

I believe no one knows the real reason why the founder of Bitcoin hid himself.  If there is someone who tells you the reason, it is more likely to be his own speculation or somehow he reads other people's articles trying to speculate the absence of Satoshi Nakamoto.

That answer can be given by anyone users, it is not necessary to put "merits" to that user, everyone interprets it as they want, if you look in the mirror and pronounce bitcoin, there you have the answer of who SN is.

On the other hand, you are asking why, the reality is that the anonymity of SN is an intrinsic value to bitcoin. It is the letter of guarantee to that premise of anonymity, now, the small print is that this does not necessarily apply to all users of bitcoin.

While still deliberating on the issue i told them that i have already invested in bitcoin and some other Altcoins, i also made it very clearer to them that cryptocurrency is the only way out for financial freedom considering the lingering economic crisis.
Bitcoin is one of the tools for financial freedom, and it is the tool that helps you have wealth that helps you provide the basics without the need to work, but it is not the only tool.
Satoshi's identity is unknown, but the identity of many founders is known, and the identity of many developers of altcoin such as Ethereum and Litecoin is known. What difference would it make if Satoshi's identity was unknown, especially since if he returned, his decisions would not change much in Bitcoin.

Everyone would have different thoughts why Satoshi remain unknown. For me I believe, Satoshi want to create a decentralised cryptocurrency without any third party involvement. So in Decentralised system he don't want to involve himself to avoid control of Bitcoin. We all know if Satoshi reveals himself then he can influence anything or create something new and leave Bitcoin. He don't want to destroy his discoveries hence he keep remain unknown. We really don't need to look for Satoshi since Bitcoin running smoothly without him and already being established.

'why is the identity of the bitcoin founder (Satoshi Nakamoto) remained unknown'?,  i will be very glad if any of the high ranked members can provide us with the answer so we can add it to our knowledge too. thanks.
I will start from two dimensions. And the first is bitcoin itself nis anonymous and decentralized in operation and why people launched a good project or make a very vital comments in the internet but they hide themselves and becomes anonymous because of the their personal security and their life. And Satoshi who is the creator of bitcoin is not anonymity because of himself but because of bitcoin. Bitcoin is like a threat to the world economy and if the founder is known then they the world leaders and the business tycoon will use cohesive force to force him to destroy the bitcoin network.

Satoshi Nakamoto identity is unknown because of you and me.

If i were you, i would not say this. Buying cryptocurrencies is very risky, particularly when you are buying altcoins which is quite similar to gambling, Bitcoin does not also give financial freedom in the sense that you are going to become rich when you buy it, but that it is decentralized and you control your money without the need for any third party.

Satoshi and anybody has the right to decide if they want to remain anonymous, and it then depends on if they have the knowledge to do it. Satoshi chose to keep his identity a secret and only him can answer why he did it, but neither should you be curious about it, because Bitcoin works perfectly without you knowing who Satoshi is.

Maybe I am not correct, but I have an idea. Imagine having an innovation that will challenge the already established system that the government has set up, they will definitely be some fear in you and the consideration to want to remain not known if possible. Satoshi would have been arrested Many times whenever the government are looking for someone to blame concerning Bitcoin, his freedom would have been at risk too. Maybe Satoshi is also a very shy person also who does not want the attention of the media and the world, so why he decided to hide his identity.
The reason could be anything, only Satoshi really knows.

This might look very crazy, but it is very important that i know it
Glad you also know that it looks crazy because knowing the identity of Satoshi is not what is important but knowing the legacy he implemented for Bitcoin.

We have seen many times how the Feds always go after the inventors of some altcoin just to make them bend to their rules and model of operation. We can take XRP for example
Having said that, Bitcoin was able to maintain its good reputation through the decentralized, consensus, and disappearance model Satoshi used

Satoshi is anonymous by choice. We can speculate all we want, but cannot give an exact reason as to why they will rather stay in the shadows. I see it as a representation of what Bitcoin is; truly decentralized, with not a single link to a Central point of control. For all we know anyone here could be Satoshi and everyone is to an extent.

If your friend needs the presence of an owner to seek freedom through bitcoin, then maybe its not for them.

While still deliberating on the issue i told them that i have already invested in bitcoin and some other Altcoins,

Are you sure that you did the right thing by doing that? No one should discuss their finances and other stuff in public gatherings, that could go wrong sometimes. You can't trust anyone these days, even if they are your classmates or whatever, money can change anyone.

i also made it very clearer to them that cryptocurrency is the only way out for financial freedom considering the lingering economic crisis.

Did you also inform them about the risks involved with cryptocurrency trading and investments? And did you happen to mention that one needs a lot of knowledge to be able to make it in this industry? If not, you should go ahead and do that because it's important for them to know everything so that they don't start building skyscrapers in the air.

He came up with this question 'why is the identity of the bitcoin founder (Satoshi Nakamoto) remained unknown'?

His identity remained unknown because he wanted it to be that way. He probably had an idea that, in case, Bitcoin manages to gain significant success in the future, there will be a conflict of interest between people favoring Bitcoin and those who are in favor of fiat currencies and traditional financial systems, and he didn't want to be targeted for being the person who created the reason behind that conflict.

I have come across posts of this nature numerous times. But they all ball down a the same reason. Firstly Bitcoin is the biggest decentralized crypto graphic network and it is able to achieve that because of the anonymity of its creator ( Satoshi NAKAMOTO). Satoshi's anonymity is actually a sacrifice to keep the Bitcoin network fully decentralized because logically if Satoshi was reachable, Bitcoin would become centralized with the government being able to influence core aspects.

As long as Satoshi which is supposed to be the logical centralized body controlling Bitcoin remains anonymous, Bitcoin will remain decentralized leaving developers, miner and even me and you who are Bitcoin investors or people who transact with Bitcoin in control of the network.

Before anyone can introduce an invention, he have to write a program plan concerning what he is carrying out for others to see and benefit from, Satoshi right from onset has being pseudoanonymous about his appearance, he probably chose this in other to allow the people who have been his major targets on bitcoin adoption have more focus on what he has developed than when they should concentrate more on him, also, he talks about privacy and for someone to give this in financial economy, he also have to go by example, because bitcoin is decentralized.

Firstly you and your friends are wrong, crypto-currency is not the only way for anyone who wants financial freedom. There are lots of ways to become financially free but first you have to be able to sell something, your services, skill, goes, knowledge what ever it is all you have to do is find who needs them and make money from that. Although crypto-currency can help financially but not the only way.

This is a good question, you need to understand that the creator or creators of Bitcoin (the entity of Bitcoin is still unknown) is/are people/person that values anonymity, Bitcoin was built to support anonymity that's why many users also love that feature of Bitcoin. So it's not rock science to understand why the identity is still unknown. Besides the antagonistic nature of government and other institutions against Bitcoin can further make the identity of the creator of Bitcoin unknown.

I am not a high-ranked member, and I don't think anyone has to be a high-ranked member to answer such a question.

Not only the founder of Bitcoin, but every user of Bitcoin should remain anonymous if they want to use Bitcoin for privacy reasons. The reason is so simple. To remain anonymous and to protect your privacy. Have you ever seen someone walking on the street with millions of dollars in a transparent bag? You will say that it is risky! I don't want to show how much I have, right?

It's not the same, but you need privacy for a similar reason. I don't want to let others know that I have Bitcoin in real life. I share that I have Bitcoin in the virtual forum without sharing my identity.

Well thats his alias. Everyone regards him as Satoshi but if you wanna know the full name or legal name then Im sorry no one can answered you best here. If someone said he is Craig Wright dont believe that. This guy was just assuming or trying to be the Satoshi but all Bitcoin OGs know that he isnt. Well he can prove it by simple means however its a long time already that he cant prove that to everyone.

This has been discussed hundreds of times already throughout the interwebz. But on the top level, I'm pretty sure you'd agree that if you created a digital currency that rivals all country's currencies, you definitely wouldn't want to be found by the authorities.

It may worth mentioning that when Gavin said that he will go to present the early bitcoin to CIA, next step was Satoshi disappearing forever.
In this contexts there were ideas that if he would have been known his life may have been in danger, for example.
Gavin took over Bitcoin Core development as main developer before Satoshi Nakamoto discussed with him and announced his plan to disappear.

Gavin will visit the CIA
Eleven years ago today (Satoshi Nakamoto announced to leave).
Eleven years ago today I had my last email exchange with Satoshi; here it is:

Subject: alert key
Satoshi Nakamoto [email protected]
26 Apr 2011, 10:29

I wish you wouldn’t keep talking about me as a mysterious shadowy figure, the press just turns that into a pirate currency angle. Maybe instead make it about the open source project and give more credit to your dev contributors; it helps motivate them.

I’ve moved on to other things and will probably be unavailable. Here’s the CAlert key and broadcast code in case you need it. You should probably give it to at least one or two other people. There are a few long time users who are always around all the time.

You shouldn't go around telling people about your investments in Bitcoin because it could make you a target. Even friends could pose a threat, which you should be aware of. This is similar to why Satoshi, the creator of Bitcoin, chose to remain anonymous. Privacy and anonymity were important to him. Despite being active in the community, Satoshi never revealed his true identity. It's difficult to remain hidden while being actively involved. While the exact reason for Satoshi's disappearance is unknown, speculation suggests he wanted to maintain anonymity. I believe he may still be observing how his technology has evolved and changed lives, possibly under a new identity.

His identity remained unknown because it's really dangerous if everyone know his identity, there are many possibilities:

1. Targeted by $5 wrench attack.
2. He will going to jail because many people always said Bitcoin is scam or help money laundry despite Bitcoin is just a currency and he has no control over Bitcoin.
3. Bitcoin price will go down because people believe Satoshi can control Bitcoin.
