Probably yes, because if you are to play poker then you have to familiarize the factors when you are to play poker, get used to the rules and just simply know how to get your luck with you, when you're playing poker, you'll need not only skills but with luck on your side, that's how dangerous poker is and you'll really have to play a lot of it

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?

Both, even if you have the skills to provoke but if luck doesn't resides on you the chances of winning are still at slant and vice-versa.

the longer you play more skills you get?

Maybe, for the reason you are getting much familiar with the game. But for some reason there are times that you may not be able to gain skills as for you are just focus on getting money and winning every round.

Unless you are a expert cheater then you may get some extra chances of winning consistently

I have been playing poker with my friends in real and i see the advantages of playing constantly but must have that skills and ability

BEcause not all person has a chance or not gifted with gambling skills

you mean to say that the longer you play , the more you are familliar with the game right ?  Because it does not really mean that the longer you play , you can win more oftenly because you are more familiarize with the cards or on the shuffling as poker is still depends on luck  .

No one is gifted or born with gambling skills therfor all of us can possibly become a pro in it if we are willing to learn  and practice  .

I think playing poker a lot can train you to be a good gambler definitely. 'Practice makes perfect' suits for this case. Of course many tho gs depends on luck, but with skills, practice and knowledge the percent of your winnings will raise up.
If your skills are getting raise up then poker must be the easiest way to make gambling houses bankrupted. But I'm not seeing any gambling house is having problems to offer poker to its customers. I mean to say when more people are finding themselves as an experienced a gambler in poker then they will beat the houses which will make the house operators uncomfortable and they may stop offering such a low earning/negative earning gambling type

Are you sure you are not confusing poker with dice?

As far as I know, there is no house edge in poker like in dice because players (intentionally not calling them gamblers) are playing against each other, not the house, as is the case with dice. I assume you pay a commission to the poker room from your winnings, and so you can't possibly ruin it in the way you could bankrupt the casino by adding up stakes until they start to exceed the size of the casino bankroll

If you rely on a whisk, then most of winning a game is luck. But if you only rely on your luck, this is not effective. It would be nice for every gambler to have a skill to change the situation in order to win every bet he did. I think to win a profit not only rely on the way someone plays, but to manage the money that is there must also be considered, and this can be arranged with the skill and experience of each gambler.

In my experience, yes our skills will keep developing over the time in poker still we need an extra touch from God so that we will be able to make money in poker like any other gambling. Some people do call that extra touch from God as luck.

The longer you study, not only play. You need to study poker. There is no "house" at poker. You only compete against other players, that means you have to understand the game enough to win in the long run. Positioning is essential and although you learn a lot about playing, you often have a wrong impression. By studying you can understand the statistics and have the coolness of thinking several rounds ahead, not just at that moment.

My confidence is likely the exact opposite of that chart, as i gain more knowledge of the game I become rapidly aware of how skilled some have become by many years of practise and have a distinct advantage over me.

think its known as the Dunning–Kruger effect and it looks like this :

It is a game which require a lot of experience  and skills I order to beat the dealer and other parties . Also if you are smart you should be able to play with that confident  that other players pack their cards thinking the other person have better cards and leave the game .

Well, among the gambling games, i think poker is a game which need some skills but luck again play a major role in winning or losing in poker. I like poker because there is something to think about and we can make moves according to our decisions and of course its an interesting game.
Having a good experience in poker can give you an advantage to earn profit and its really an interesting games since you have to fight each other holding that cards to win against them. Its good to keep on playing and gain the experience along the road but you must still control yourself, since its too addicting and you must lose more money by playing longer.

It's poker, so I tend to disagree for those who believes that it is pure luck. Skills are badly needed in order to survive and win in poker. You will be battling each other with emotions, observations, strategy and of course luck.

Experience is an advantage of course.
But, you have not answered the exact possibility of playing long with poker ? Just curious to know that. I agree poker is not based on pure luck but having experience is more than enough to win there ?  Because I am ready to play as longer as I am able to so that I will be gaining more experience and after having all the required experience, is their any guarantee that I will be winning in poker  consistently ?

I think it is impossible to answer that question

Simply because it is very personal. If you don't like what you are doing, if you are forced to do it by yourself or circumstances, your mileage will be pathetic. People play poker not because of the money they can win but because they like it, they like things around it, its spirit. Money then comes as a nice bonus. It doesn't mean that you should not try it, but if you feel that it is not your thing, you'd better not waste your time and try something else which is

I don't agree with it. It's true when you talk about the basics but at some point you will find it harder and harder to learn new things and become better than other professionals. It's called the learning curve. It's easy to learn to play, just a bit harder to become a good player and an enormous gap between that and becoming a professional player.

Most people never go beyond 80%.

Experience must be an advantage everywhere and not just in poker. If you are well our of what to do or what not to do in dice gambling then you can lengthen your stay in dicing for the same strategy and for same bankroll comparatively.. I mean to say experience is a handy even in dice gambling not just in poker.
But, there will be no assurance that you will be learning all the tactics of poker gambling even you will be playing it longer time. Because, when you will be busy in playing, you may not notice and learn all the tactics. This is how most of the gambling is working because even you are experienced with the environment and strategies, you may fail to apply them at the right time.

The excitement of gambling or frustration of gambling will make your brain to fade away. This must be the reason why you cannot use your experience for your gambling. I agree experience must be handy everywhere but you need to be conscious for making use of it.

Being conscious while gambling is not possible for 99% of gamblers.

Gambling is synonymous with luck, yeah maybe everyone has the same thoughts about it. I have an experience with my friend, he doesn't like to gamble but he knows how to play poker, so one day I invited him to play poker and give him money to make a bet. I don't know what happened but he was able to multiply the money I gave, and I just thought it was just luck.

But he said to me, when you gamble try not to focus too much on the money you spend, even if you have to forget money or win, just focus your mind on the game. That incident made me think, not all gambling was determined by luck. But a skill or a good way of gambling can lead you to get plenty of opportunities for luck.

In every person life, they have a chance to do something worthwhile to practice and master. No one can become a master already without being a beginner. Except if you are a genius or something, that’s like a shortcut. I know that experience is the key to having a great life.

Back to the poker game style. I think ss you go along the way, you experience more plays every time. You might know or remember how to deal or counter different hands from poker. It's going to serve as a stepping stone to better games.

I believe in real time 10000 hours to master a skill or a hobby.

What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

It will be impossible to get a consistent winning in poker. Poker is a game that require skill and luck. The longer we play, the more skill we will get, just the same with other games, but it won't give a guarantee for us to win everytime. Even though someone has a good skill at poker but if luck isn't on his side, he will be lose anyway. Generally speaking, gambling is a matter of luck.

Experience will surely help us win the poker even though I also strongly agree that luck has a big part in wining too. But consider a person who is new to a person who has played poker for quite some time. The experienced person will use his experience and at same time enjoy the game much more than a newbie poker player.
When you are a newbie then you wont really much enjoy your first time on the game because you are still busy to cope up all the things should be learn about the game first but eventually
once the time had passed you will eventually learn and enjoy it gradually.Experienced onces do really have the edge compared to newbies but there are scenarios even newbie can beat up those guys
when luck isn't on your side no matter how good you are then you will still lose.
