Poker is a mental game it is for sure based on skills. Just look at how many professionals can consistently win tournaments. I do think you can become a better player through practice but I do think a large part of it is mental. You are either born with the ability or not, practice can only do so much to your natural talent.
Born with what ability? To be good at poker? That sort of explanation seems a little bit too vague.
i do think people can be born with better analytical insight than other people, but I also think you can improve those ability through practice and learning.
In the end you just have learn how to stack the odds against you, while playing against other human players.
I don't think that it works this way in real life
Since otherwise you could just stick to something which you choose based on purely financial terms and then, with patience, practice and perseverance, learn "how to stack the odds in your favor" and become a success. To become a success, you should first find something to your liking, let's call it your true calling, for simplicity's sake.
