Hello All,

While the Movement DAO has been around since 2017, it has been an almost shapeless amoeba, floating about ether space, gaining intrinsic value and experience. While the mission statement was always clear, our goals may have not been.

(Based on the principles of open-source transparency and permissionless collaboration, The Movement is open for all valuable contributions and free to evolve. By harnessing the capabilities of blockchain technology, we provide a common ground for worldwide collaboration, innovation, experimentation, and value creation.)

While vague, the statement holds a lot of power, especially in today's world climate.

In an attempt to gain some clarity, add value to the community, and to contribute to the Ethereum Ecosystem, I will be moving forward with a few things and I would encourage all of you to come with.

The Movement DAO will be deploying an instance of our new DAO contract and platform.  With this, a new MVT token will be minted and sent to all current MVT holders at the time of minting. These tokens will unlock functionality in the DAO.  The main function of these new DAO token will be their ability to distribute generated revenue from the Social Change Engine, to the holders.

Once completed, the code and pre-deployment actions will be displayed to the community for a period of 1 week, for members to voice any disapproval of the direction.

Deployed, this will give a solid foundation for the Movement DAO to build.  Anyone will be able to add value and help shape the future of the DAO.

Dropper has release 80,000 MVT 0xcf0674cdac75d8adcd40f5b6df69a414f3fd00a1fe1151107289be4ca331990a  to an account I currently have control of. These funds will be used for upcoming bounties, development, and promotion.

The Social Change Engine will be deploying a DeFi solution that leverages the Uniswap protocol.  This SCE contract will be the Social Change Engine’s “Hub”.  It will collect and distribute fees generated by services to common gas pools, lending pools, and MVT token holders. Once an initial stake has been set, these pools will allow for users (MVT Holders) of the platform Gas-less use of all services. Abstract

The Mobile version of the SCE interface will follow which will allow for augmented reality bounties. These will allow members to create bounties in the real world.  Augmented reality “Job Boards” that list bounties. Geo-Patiatial representations of bounties and on-chain interaction.

The DAO itself will control extra funds generated by the SCE. These funds will pool into Community Pools generated by MVT Bags set aside for the initial stake.
All of this has been thought about in terms of perpetual funding mechanisms. The idea that once started, The Movement DAO, and the Social Change Engine can’t be stopped.  These tools will allow for the promotion of self-sovereignty and fundamental human rights by abandoning current paradigms.

Nah, let's start building shelters, wait for the catastrophe and then build anew.

One idea for funding, we come up with a specific goal. Ex: Bring community interaction to DAOs. Then we apply for funding from an existing DAO.

So... What do we do ?
Waiting for gradual economic decay finger crossed or working to try to set up the financial system that can survive it?
 

It is the not the right time to keep up with OMVT development. Now that more and more DAO advocates get relegated to handmaids and waiters, shortage of personnel becomes a threat to the notion that the ecosystem can survive the repercussions of gradual economic decay engendered by coronavirus. I would say most people in crypto will be slayed because of legit superstitions that crypto has a demonic nature.

If you'd like to help, exposure is a large problem. A person doesn't have to be a developer to make a difference. Use your personal toolkit and think about how you can add value to the whole.

Design Goals

The MovementDAO will allow MVT token holders to collectively receive, manage, and allocate tokens.

All current MVT token holders will receive the same amount of tokens in the DAO. We will then depreciate the old MVT token contract. The new MovementDAO and its tokens will then be the source of truth for the MovementDAO community.

MVT token holders will be able to propose and pass votes for signaling, capital management, and contract interactions. This includes minting/burning new tokens as well as interacting with, deploying, and controlling external contracts.

Initially, MVT token holders will want to be able to issue rewards to people who contribute to the project. There are many ways this might be accomplished and research will be required to determine the best fit. Some initial directions to explore include, but are not limited to:

   

• Allocating MVT tokens for new contributors from an MVT commons-pool.

   

• Creating and managing a Colony so that the MovementDAO can determine high-level initiatives and budgets, then let a group of contributors manage that budget to achieve a goal.

 

• Using a mechanism such as the Rewards app to issue dividends to token holders.

    The distribution of rewards to token holders may or may not create legal risk. As such we will receive a written opinion on the DAO design from legal experts before proceeding with the launch. This is just an opinion (not legal advice!). It can, however, help us avoid using mechanisms that have a high likelihood of creating problems down the road.

Sounds pretty awesome, I like the idea, further more because the MVT tokens were distributed "evenly" in the beginning. Now I need to remember where I have those tokens stored. Also let me know how can I help if I am not a developer.

Essentially it uses the ERC223 standard to store ETH per the MVT Token. "Revenue" will feed into the contract and be distributed to all holders, according to "bag size".   Actually all tokens evenly but you get the idea.  

These functions will be built out into a community-managed function, callable on Aragon. Future Dapp fees, exchange fees, or revenue produced will be managed by the DAO. These funds will be distributed through the smart contract to the Movement Members.

The MVT Bounty Bags put aside, in the beginning, will create ETH to fund community initiatives. These funds will be voted on by members.

MVT ETH Contract - Proposal to update MVT ERC20 Token. This would be the base level binder that holds Movement value. All "revenue" from the ecosystem will filter though to Bag holders. The contract allows all to benefit from value generation.  Functions will be tied to voting in Aragon through the Minime contract. That way the community will control the token. I need some help finishing and am paying ETH. 

So in summation, we are continuing to add value and grow the community. Jump in. Pick it up. Run.
