There are 6 or 7 backends in there now Cheesy

Maxcoin uses a different algo, Kekkak, than the ones supported in the embedded miners used in MacMiner (Scrypt, SHA256).
The latest versions of MacMiner include several backends and support a bunch of algorithms including keccak Smiley

Woops, my bad.  I thought you still had pooler's CPU Miner and not the fork with the forked cgminer.

I'm new to mining and decided to mine Maxcoin to start with ...

Using MacMiner and getting lots of this:

(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%
(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%
(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%
(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%
(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%
(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0  R:0  HW:0  WU:0.0/m  WUE:nan%

Does anyone have any ideas why?

That's not good, is that the GPU miner? does it say anything about your pool at the beginning of the log when you start?

The 10.6 Snow Leopard version of MacMiner has been updated, and testers are needed! If you have a machine running 10.6, please let me know how this works for you:

Can you please add DualMiner support asap as I really want to get started with my Scrypt ASIC miner? I shouldn't be forced to rely on unreliable workarounds on my mac like VMWare fusion just to mine.

Working directly on a system is always better than going through a VM solution as you reduce the problems caused by this.

Thanks Smiley
At the moment it looks as though I'll probably be able to get it mining BTC but the code hasn't been released yet so full functionality won't jump to Mac/Linux till that's available unfortunately

1.5.18 already!

• Now feeds the GPU Miner to API Output and MobileMiner (please reapply your pool settings for your pool and coin to be reflected accurately in MobileMiner)

•Improves several app behaviours

• Allows you to start the miner window you have in focus with command-S

• Changes the SHA256d/Scrypt CPU miner back to Pooler's

1.5.17 is primarily a bug fix release, but has a few user recommendations too

• Improves recent additions

• Allows old pool setup to set the new pool preference pane too

• Allows you to start the miner window you have in focus with command-S

• Adds a preference for update checking

• Checks for updates periodically

• Bug fixes and improvements

Feature requests are always welcome! And thanks again for those bug reports, what would I do without you! Hotfix for that and the View menu naming style Smiley

Mavericks driver warning quickly disabled until such time as it detects OS properly

The FQDN thing is going to require a major change from an exec to a library I think so it might take a few weeks but I'll check on that

Very good suggestion about which windows to have open which will make it's way in very quickly!

The save button is really an indicator of how paranoid I am that settings take after the extended period of MobileMiner troubleshooting but I'll switch that over to on text change - save and make that popup an option!

Hi BitBacco,
since you are so active tonight I'm reporting a few issues and feature requests! Grin
• Adding networked miners to the API Output window still doesn't work by FQDN, it only works by IP.
• Each time I start CG Miner I get this alert about OS X 10.9 drivers but I'm on OS X 10.8! Couldn't it be possible to make it appears only on Mavericks system?
• CPU Miner on MacMiner 1.5.16 is broken, it reports:
Code:
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../../libidn/lib/libidn.11.dylib
  Referenced from: /Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/curl/lib/libcurl.4.dylib
  Reason: image not found
• The new "View" --> "Show GPU Miner" menu has a space between the two last words whereas the "Show CPUMiner" and "Show CGMiner" menus don't… it's purely cosmetic but I think they should all be written in a way or the other. The same applies to the windows' title.
• In the Preferences window there is still written "BFG Miner" instead of "GPU Miner".
• When MacMiner opens the GPU Miner window is always displayed, even if the GPU Miner checkbox in the Preferences --> "When MacMiner opens, starts:" is unchecked. This is annoying for users that don't use it, could it be possible to modify MacMiner to display only the miners' windows of checked "When MacMiner opens, starts:" checkbox? Perhaps, when there is no "starts" checkbox ticked and no custom pools configured, when MacMiner is launched it could display the Preference window, so that new users don't feel lost with no windows appearing on the screen when they launch MacMiner.
• The "Save" button in Preferences is so windowish… Undecided
• Could you add a preference to disable "miner has started, the primary pool is set to…" alerts each time a miner is started?

As always thank you very much for all your hard work! Smiley
