The main reason is a little thing called "trust." BTC build for itself (it's developers, community, etc.) a trusted environment over these years, and that is what keeps BTC at the first spot. Although this is good, it also lay over our shoulders a great responsibility (yes, I'm talking about BU x SW) when trying to make BTC the greatest cryptocurrency.

It's really the quality of the product that gives the brand the value. The branding and the name of Bitcoin are pretty good, but I think that Bitcoin has far more important advantages than fancy marketing. One of these is that it was, and always will be, the first and it also has a very large user base. It's also the most used currency of it's kind that companies and businesses use and has the highest market capitalization by far.

No I don't think so. Even if Bitcoin is volatile or is unstable it is not safe to assume that it is the one that provides the most profits. How much you will earn with Bitcoin always depends on the user. Don't have the mindset of "Yeah I invested my money to Bitcoin, it will surely grow" because it is not true. You won't earn anything just by putting your money on something.

That is the problem with lazy people. Even a plant needs sunlight and water to grow. In investment they want it to grow without even doing anything.
That is not how investment with bitcoin is, yes it grows over time but ain't it better growing it with hard work like trading or investing in other things. A much profit will come to those who are eyeing for a greater prize. Besides, in this part of bitcoin that is getting expensive it is hard to buy now, even miners do have a hard time making profits because of the electricity bill.

I agree it is not the first created virtual currency but the first decentralized blockchain. that is the feature that makes Bitcoin so popular and many aspiring altcoin followed the decentralization concept and even deepen the anonymity bitcoin gave. Even with other coin having better feature, Bitcoin will always number 1 due to the fact that it has lots of supporter.
