I think a lot of investors who are afraid of bitcoin investment may be because bitcoin has not been too many who know how to use it so that many investors are afraid and confused.
In my neighbourhood TV and government is forcing people to think that cryptocurrencies is something bad and risky
Cryptocurrencies is not bad for all people, some people misuse it cryptocurrencies otherwise nothing will be wrong in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies The View about cryptocurrencies are bad in the world are also support it but it is not true.
I think because the crypto can't be touch like the real money, they won't invest on uncertainty and unpredictable thing. They also don't know how to invest on it because they still dont know technology. They won't to take high risk because invest in crypto is risky.
Main reasons people not investing in Crypto is lack of knowledge, they do not know understand what is it about and they fear of something new . Other reason is that Crypto market is volatile and it is a risky investment as it can go to zero.
Investments like to be on secure places and Crypto is not that kind of place if You are not a believer.

There's a lot pf reason why most of the people did not want to invest to crypto, because they did not want to lose their money because earning moneh is not easy to earn in real job you need to work upto 8 hours to get paid and after that you are tired. Other reason is most of the onlines business is scam but bitcoin is fullu legiy and trusted. They need to open their mind for bitcoin to earn money.
There is no single factor why people do not invest in cryptocurrency. It could be due to fear of losing an asset, bad experiences, unwillingness, or having limited idea about cryptocurrency. The increasing number of scams can also be considered making people lost their trust about its nature and hard to change their negative mindset into positive view.
Basically,the reason why people don't want to invest in crypto because they are afraid of losing.Or maybe as what is mention from one of our mate above,they do not know how this stuff works and/or they can't get along with the topics or thread being discussed here in the forum.Posts/reply is also a sort of investment because after all when the bounty campaign is over you will be rewarded in return.In this case you have nothing to lose in terms of money since you are only promoting ICO's globally for their proposed projects.Your only capital is your time, effort and dedication.

That's one of the reason why people don't want to invest in bitcoin. They afraid because they think cryptocurrencies is a scam, because it is fake, it is not profitable and so forth. Actually this is all just fake news and we all know the truth but we don't have any strong faith to come out and tell the world that cryptocurrencies and bitcoin is not fake, it's not joke. 
Mainly due to the price volatility,they are afraid of losing their investment so they don't want to take that kind of risks but more and more people are now getting into the cryotocurrency world after understanding its capabilities and potential to make money in short term.

The outcome is people don't know anything about crypto so they are afraid to invest in something they don't know about or doesn't ensure their money
The biggest reason is that because they do not know much about Crypto, people are often afraid of something they do not understand well. Besides, there are too many hackers; ico and phishing token
Maybe many people think that cryptocurrencies are virtual. There is no real economy to do credit guarantees for them. They do not understand cryptocurrencies and they dare not invest in them!

Many people are such that they never succumb to learn about new things. Thay are always doubting any new invention and with such people, they'll be very difficult to invest in crypto. Also as you said, tax situations are not clear and people keep on becoming skeptical, let's see what the future holds for us and crypto investments
many reasons why people do not want to invest in crypto, one of the reasons is the crypto currency which is a digital currency and has a high risk so they do not want to take the risk to be a loss
I believe that the first and the most recent is their fear for unknown people are always fearing the things they did not experience before
Nobody don't want to risk their real money in such unstable conditions, some other people just have wrong and fake ideas about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general..
People dont want to invest in crypto because they are afraid that crypto is something new, there is no certainty of success, no clear rules about crypto, risks will be borne alone and susceptibility to the hacker.
People around me prefer doing traditional gambling than make invest in crypto, because they think make invest in crypto the same like gambling and hard to understand how to start. They just thinking make money online is fraud and they will lose all their money. They does not understand what is blockchain technology and what the advantages of it.
